After a frustrating experience elsewhere, I brought my miniature schnauzer Apollo here and couldn't be happier with the results. Sydney took the time to listen to exactly what I wanted and did an outstanding job. Apollo received compliments everywhere we went afterward. His beard was beautifully layered and blended, his eyebrows were shaped perfectly, and he still looked like a schnauzer rather than having a generic haircut. The cut was clean, balanced, and professional. Most importantly, Sydney treated Apollo with care, patience, and genuine kindness. He may not love getting a haircut, but he certainly loved all the attention he received afterward and seemed much more comfortable in the Florida heat. If you have a schnauzer, Sydney is the groomer you want. She understands the breed, pays attention to the details, and takes pride in her work. I recently last week went in to this location for the first time because I needed to specifically get prescription food for my kitten & only this location carries the prescription food. I was immediately helped by Sam aka Samantha the manager who was very helpful in showing me where the foods are and other things I needed to find. I usually have been ordering many products from the app online and door dasher or roadie hasn't always been reliable & today Samantha dropped off the products I needed on her time off which was so above & beyond. I had spoken to Sam the day before & was so impressed that she offered like the other manager in the Lyons location to make a special delivery. If you live closer to the Congress store and or you need prescription foods then you are in good hands with the staff here and Samantha managing the staff. read more

Idk why this store has such a bad review, been coming here for 4 years and it's still great. Clean, they welcome you upon entering. And are always on top on making the line short. I always look at the kitties who need a home... the rescue adoption company was there today and they had a cat put front. So cute... makes you feel guilty... but they need help. My groomers that I usually take my dog to went out of business. They always did an outstanding job on Stormy, so I was heartbroken to see them go. I decided to give Pet Smart a try. I registered the appt on line which wasn't difficult. The estimate for grooming was $72. 00. Stormy's appt. was for 1:00. The groomer asked, in great detail, exactly what I wanted. I showed her a photo of his last cut that I wanted her to replicate. I also showed her a photo of what I did NOT want- his mustache totally shaved off. She took photos of them on her phone. She told me it would take 3 or maybe 4 hours. I was shocked! Usually his grooming took an hour and 1/2 or two hours the most. After three hours, I called Pet Smart and was told he'd be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived, five minutes later, I was shocked to be presented with a bill for $102.00!! I was charged extra $ because he was "difficult to work with". In five years of having him groomed, NO ONE had ever said that! Everyone said he's a sweet boy. I do know his front paws are tender in certain spots. Then, there was an extra fee for "scissoring". Finally, a $10. LATE charge! What the ****!?! The manager was called and he late fee was erased as it was a mistake. I told her it was a horrific haircut- the worst ever!! She told me the groomer had already left for the day, but she would have Isabella call me first thing to rectify the situation. Well, it's already late in the afternoon, and there has been no call from Pet Smart. That infuriates me even more! Do I want that groomer to "touch him up"? Absolutely not!! Honestly, I could have done a better job and I have zero experience. I will NEVER return nor will I recommend them to anyone!!! read more

It seems this location doesn't follow the same return policy as other PetSmart stores. Last month, I tried to exchange an unopened, unexpired bag of dog food for the correct one (same brand, just for a different age). I was told they don't accept returns or exchanges without a receipt, and the cashier wouldn't even check my account. Then, on October 28th, I went back to buy a costume for my dog. The cashier informed me the receipt printer was down and said she'd email the receipt. By October 30th, when I returned to exchange the costume (we found a better one), I couldn't find the receipt in my email--it was never sent. This time, a male cashier was able to pull up my purchase using my phone number! So, it turns out they can look up purchases. Clearly, the previous cashier needs either retraining or a refresher on customer service. read more

I just love this location and I just wanted to give an updated review since my pup has been to the groomers several times here! S/N: I'm keeping the contents of my old review and it still holds true to today! Poppy is still getting used to the groomers and Poppy has always looked amazing after seeing Jessica M. and Brittany K. They are so good with her. Not only that, the other times I've gotten her groomed, the others would forget to put the bow or bandana on (which is included). However, these two specific groomers I've noticed do it without me asking! I love that! We appreciate them making Poppy feel, look, and smell good! Not only that, I love that the prices for the groomers is not bad at all. It's very reasonable in my opinion and they tend to have a lot of specials. Don't forget to sign up for their rewards program and check your emails! Overall, I love this location. I highly recommend it! They always are so nice and helpful. Brought my dog in a few weeks ago for a nail trim-There was a special for 7$- The tech takes my dog within 3 minutes he comes back out saying he couldn't trim my dogs nails because the vein was too close to be trimmed-Not sure it was exactly that but, something to that effect - Just brought my dog to the tech at my vet's-He said they have no idea of what their doing-He trimmed by dog's nails without an issue. I bought a harness for my dog and it did not fit so I came back and tried to return/exchange it, unfortunately I lost the receipt and the manager gave me a really hard time returning it. At one point the manager implied I stole the leash which I responded to pull up the cameras and look (she refused).When I bought the leash originally they didn't ask for my number so I didn't have the purchase on file (through phone number). The manager said there was nothing she can do and that it is impossible that I wasn't asked for my number upon checkout ? Very rude and she was also rude to her staff in front of us. And after I completed the application, they told me if I don't have a pet at home I would HAVE TO ADOPT TWO (2) CATS. regardless of their age! NOW THIS IS PRETTY SILLY! How dare you not let me adopt a 3 month old kitten without having to adopt 2 of them? How many cats are you NOT adopting out because of your policy? The animal care is incredibly poor. To the employees, if you are reading this and care about your animals, please consider making changes to these areas: *Your birds do not have perching that is the correct size for their feet. The budgies and finches had such large perches that their feet were already becoming deformed, and they were choosing to perch either on the small metal hardware pieces of the cage or flat-footed on fabric hides and on the ground (they are ground feeders and are typically only on the ground to eat, not rest). This causes them permanent physical deformities. Please fix this before you give them all bumblefoot and other lifelong conditions that will not only cause the animals pain, but cost your customers lots of money in the long run. *The aquarium setup for your turtle is very sad. He should have more in his enclosure than one cheap hide. There is literally nothing in his habitat to keep him mentally stimulated. How would you like living like he is? *I understand you may view the feeder fish as just food, but they are sentient. They feel pain. Having absolutely nothing in the aquarium to enrich them, on top of there constantly being dead fish floating around, is probably one of the most horrendous things I've seen in the establishment. Truly heartbreaking. *Pretty much every enclosure should be looked at in terms of the substrate, toys, and hides that are being provided. Not everything is meant for every species. Wood that is safe for one animal can be toxic to others, fabric hides are not safe for birds, etc. Please, if you actually care about your animals, do not immediately be offended and defensive, and instead, research proper enrichment, enclosure setups, and their overall husbandry. Because what I see each time I come into this location does not reflect a staff that cares about their animals. read more

I began puppy classes with Taylor at this location when my lab was just a few months old. My dog is very smart, but very strong willed and Taylor has helped me with her highly excitable behavior. We have had so much fun in Taylor's classes that we have continued the curriculum from beginner/puppy and are now attending her brain games classes. Piper my pup is now a year and a half and gets excited on Saturday mornings when I ask if she is ready to go to school! She has been able to learn good behaviors & fun little tricks along the way. Taylor is very patient with the dog and with me when one or both of us are just not quite getting something. Taylor is also very accommodating. She allows you to attend classes on off days if you have a schedule conflict, such as vacation or work and she will help choose appropriate items for your pet, such as harnesses, leashes, training treats, etc. Taylor is someone who is meant to work with animals, she really knows her stuff when it comes to creating positive behaviors & happy dogs. read more

As I opened above the ziploc line, dirt were everywhere along with BUGS. Turned out bag was expired. Came back the next day, spoke with the manager, wait for 20 minutes. Manager came back with 2 of 5-lbs bags. I'm not surprised they don't have non expired 24-lbs bag in stock. My mistake for not checking the expiration date on these two. There were so many dead fish in almost every single tank it was beyond disturbing. Total neglect of the aquariums. I would never purchase a fish in these deplorable conditions as it could bring disease into an already established tank and fish you may have at home. The employee (petite with long brown hair) was rude and seemed bothered at even having to be there dealing with customers. On a positive note, the girl with the long blonde hair that was working the register was extremely nice and happy. Taylor is terrific and a very knowledgeable and great at understanding dogs and training them! Taylor is the best dog trainer that I've ever had! My puppy was out of control when I first met Taylor at training. Taylor showed me ways to calm my puppy Down. She always told me that it was normal and that it just takes time! Taylor really understands dogs and their owners and she has endless energy! It doesn't matter how big the class is, she makes time to give each dog with their owner individual time and attention! So I made an appointment to get my Bispoo pup a hair cut which I have done many times. The appointment was made 2 weeks in advance which I had to take off work to have his hair cut. This is my Busy season for work and I got a Lou int against me for taking off. So as my appointment time is here I take my dog up there to drop him off and I walk in and was greeted with a hello . So the girl they gave the appointment to comes out and knelt down and started petting Woofie asking me how I wanted his hair. I told her I wanted his hair to be shaved completely down all the way. She said ok and I said cause his right ear is in tangles and I want his hair to just be shaved so it can all grow back together at the same length. Then she takes him in the back and as I'm leaving they call my cell phone whIle I'm getting in my car to tell me they would not be able to Shave the dog because the girl has not been there that long and she doesn't have enough experience!!! Experience to shave a dogs hair all off???? I could do that myself!!!! So I asked well can someone else with more experience cut his hair then and they said sure but you will have to make anothEr appointment. When she told me this I just lost it!! I said I cannnot make another appointment because I took a point at my job to take today off to get his hair cut and if this girl wasn't experienced enough then why is she taking appointments?? So she told me to take him across the street to the Veterinarian and they would cut his hair but that I would need an appointment!! Needless to say this review was coming! I ended up getting taken care of by Pet Spot down the street as a walk in on a Saturday after explaining to the Owner what happened at Petsmart and they did such a great job on my pup and they don't keep their dogs in cages, everyone was amazing plus they put bandana's on them and do their teeth and Nails all this for MUCH CHEAPER THAN PS they don't even deserve for me to say their name anymore. Today we paid $69.00 to have our Sheltie groomed. When we arrived to pick him up, we were told by the groomer that she was unable to remove the small snarls from behind his ears and she was also unable to trim his nails. Why did we pay to have him bathed and groomed when half of the services were not completed? Fool me once, shame on you! I guarantee that they will never fool me twice! Excellent place for training. Taylor, our trainer is patient and informative. Runs a great fun class and pays attention to the individual dogs needs for learning, and gives great advice for "how to" at home. She's always willing to answer any questions regardless if it's convered in class or not. Highly recommend taking classes with Taylor! read more
