When we returned to our normal work schedules we would leave her home for 6-7 hours a day. She seemed to be great in her crate or in the kitchen during the day but after a few days she started to wreak havoc in the house. Breaking out of her crate, two couches, tons of poop, and chewed window sills later, we reached out to Kendra and Scott for help. She had separation anxiety and needed to be taught how to be confident in herself again. Our pup went to the two week board and train program and came out a brand new girl. She was confident. She was calm. She was no longer anxious. We can now walk her without a leash if we needed to. She comes when called. Most importantly she doesn't break out of her crate, and finds it as a safe place now. Her training saved her and saved us. Our girl loves being able to visit Kendra every now and then and we have the confidence of boarding her with someone we trust. Someone who plays with our pup. We sent both our dogs to CPM from Sept 2018 - Oct 2018. Kendra knows how tough it is to leave your 'kids' for that extended period of time (because she's done it too!) and made sure to send us picture and video updates on how each of them were progressing. Seeing the quick process made the distance so worth it. Fast forward to picking our pups up on handover day and the difference was remarkable. But it was on us to take those skills & discipline home with us. The convenient Wheaton location of the facility is great for daycare and they also allow for half-day daycare too. Very flexible scheduling. When I pick my dog up, I can tell that she's received personalized attention from the staff and that she has been well cared for. Often she's been able to work one-on-one with a staff member for nearly all of her half-day session. We also attend the group classes which are incredibly unique and let my dog build up practice interacting with other dogs in a way that reinforce new, good behaviors. My neighbors are thrilled with the progress almost as much as I am - my dog no longer automatically barks at everyone outside now and is able to make new friends. The in home training we did originally was incredibly valuable to get us started on the right foot. We need to do that again very soon! Is it the least expensive daycare and/or training in the area? No. But it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. When I leave my dog in the care of The Canine's Voice I know that she's going to be safe, loved, and will learn a few things while she's there. It very quickly became clear that they were VERY uncomfortable with anyone coming into our home. At this point I began my search for a dog trainer. I was SO SO SO close to giving my money to one of those "fix it quick" dog training companies. Thanks to some helpful advice I received online, I quickly realized that your every day, run of the mill dog trainer is NOT equipped to handle such cases, and can often make the behavior worse over time. Knowing that I needed someone who actually knows what they are doing, I looked for local trainers on the "Certified Professional Dog Trainers" directory, and found Mary. It was such a joy to work with her. Given that my pups are afraid of strangers, it just so happened to work out perfectly that Mary was, in fact, a stranger. She took me step by step through the process of getting my dogs acclimated to people by having me practice techniques on her, and by the end of our sessions together, my pups were wagging their tails and excited whenever she would arrive. While stranger reactivity doesn't go away overnight, she equipped me with the skills I need to slowly acclimate my dogs to people over the years and years we will inevitably spend together. I could see that she was a little sad on our last session, which is such a testament to how much love and care she brings for her clients and their dogs. To sum it up in one sentence: I couldn't recommend her enough

I asked for the board and train and basically was denied every option for that and he told me I could only do drop off and could only do a two week option for drop off appointments only. He wouldn't even consider doing the third option for off leash training like wth? Why? Makes zero sense to me. He made it seem like my Dog was not capable of it when I know he is capable of mastering any type of training given to him. And his going to because I would not take my dog here not for the basic training leash skills or whatever. Energy was way off when I walked in there. I asked to see the property and to show me your and he didn't he just opened one door to huge gun looking area. I want to know where the kennel my dog will be sitting in I. Between sessions and so forth. Using a pinch collar on a tiny dog. No wonder you have all the dogs sitting down all together not making a move is prob bc you yanked the prongs back into their neck! I believe in positive training and nothing positive came out of this! Very discouraging and needless to say I will take my $8000 else where to be spent properly and with care. I have had two other meetings with trainers and they have no problem taking dog into board and train and for 8 weeks to correct behavior problems. Yvonne has a wonderful way with dogs and is very equipped to deal with challenging dogs.  Darby quickly warmed up to her because she knew the right way to interact with him.  He quickly learned to trust and LOVE her.  She has become his favorite person by far!  She has helped us immensely by teaching us how to meet Darby where he is at and engage him.  Make no mistake- you have to do the work if you want your dog to get better. It is HARD WORK.  But you will have a knowledgeable, funny, and caring teacher right behind you if you work with Yvonne.   Darby is still working very hard, but he has made such huge strides. In a year, we went from a dog who was snapping and growling at us to joining a group class!!!  We never thought this would be possible!!!  We just can't believe he is the same dog!  We just finished the Basic class with Yvonne and it was fantastic.  The Avondale location is spacious, so you have plenty of space to work with your pup and the homework is helpful and just enough- not too overwhelming. My dog struggles with grooms, he has a short threshold and gets anxious albeit the training. Ray got as much as he could get done, and I am greatly happy with the result. He did an amazing job with my samoyed. My only critique is catered towards booking appointments-- it is super easy to call, get connected with someone and/or to book online. However, my first appointment was cancelled 15 minutes prior to the set appointment time and had to be rebooked for a later day. This was disappointing as Groombar was not able to accommodate an appointment for that same day. Groombar is quite aggressive in securing your booking, such as repeated phone calls and texts. But, they are easy to reach! The prices are also quite high, but the service done for my medium/large sized dog is worth it. Overall, I'd recommend Groombar to my fellow friends and family who are looking for a mobile grooming service for their cats/dogs. I am very grateful that my dog's groomer had the patience and skills in dealing with an anxious dog during grooming.

She was foul as soon as I opened the door and began unloading on me. My dog is a rescue so he gets anxious and shrinks a bit when people are loud and aggressive & she scared him to death. She did not even say hello, she just began berating me from the hall. She did not return my attempt at cordial words or reconciliatory behavior. Not even a hello, no meeting the dog. She didn't even set foot inside. She caused a loud scene. She has cost the company what would have been a $160 plus travel plus tip service every 6 -8 weeks. I am out of the hospital and in need and this was unnecessary escalatory nonsense. Today, N _y- didn't even enter my unit & in under three minutes in my condo hallway, called me "Rude as f_ck!", audibly for the neighbors. A medical professional was on their way to meet me for an evaluation & before greeting me stated "What was her problem?? She almost ran me over stomping off in a huff!" Common courtesy is part of the service industry. This woman imo should not be working with vulnerable animals unsupervised in a van. She couldn't display compassion for the dog in front of their owner so I shudder to think what would happen alone with a defenseless animal in a van. Her Jerry Springer level antics were unwarranted but this nasty woman N_ y _ swore and stomped away for no valid reason. There was a technical issue. I spoke with a gentleman first thing in the morning, hours prior to the appointment to explain the issue and how to navigate to avoid any problems. It was easily navigable with minor effort. Appliance delivery, a hospital worker, grocery delivery and a physical therapist had no problem with me today. I had other appointments, but my dog was my priority. This alleged professional acted like a sitcom over the top nasty DMV worker with an irrationally irritated attitude, like my mere presence was a hassle for her. I no longer trust this company, because they did not even check on me or text to ask what occurred. That shows (imo) their endorsement of her swearing and lack of concern for customer experience or loss of customers. She refused to listen to explanation for the technical issue & raged like a wrestler on steroids. I planned to rely upon this service every 6 -7 weeks for the foreseeable future while I recover. Her unnecessary actions & dropping the F Bomb have cost them a customer, but they clearly aren't concerned, because they didn't check in or follow up, And that makes me worry for the animals in the care of people knowingly employing someone like this woman, I don't trust my dog with aggressive hot headed persons - nor should anyone imo.
