Just completed a 12 day board and train for my 1+ yo Australian Cattle dog and my 4 mth old black lab w/JJ. I cannot say enough positive things about this company. I reached out via yelp to inquire and received a response immediately. Consultation was amazing in person. Decided to deposit and confirm wanting this. JJ was amazing. Sent me daily texts to update how my girls were doing. Whether or not your religious beliefs, the staff here are angels walking on earth who bring happiness and peace to pups! I live about an hour away, but every min drive was worth it! I hope management/corporate are reading this so the staff, most especially JJ get their due recognition!

My 85 pound GoldenDoodle Teddy completed his 4 week training program last year and he is doing fantastic! I like to reinforce what skills he learned at least once a quarter so I bring Teddy in for his day training sessions to ensure he stays on track. Before training, he would pull me on our walks and it was stressful, well not anymore! I love the detailed training and care and attention provided to Teddy and highly recommend Dog Training Now as it has made our daily walks so much more enjoyable!

We had a great experience with everyone there. The trainers are experts. They are kind and you can tell that they really love dogs. They bring out the best in your dog and teach you to do the same.

We loved the entire staff and our dog learned so much in just two weeks! She especially liked Alex.

This place is in a completely hidden location and it's easy to miss. A few moths ago I called to sign up for level 1 dog obedience training at the Hoffman Estates location. The customer service team was on point. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Based on first impressions, I was excited to bring my dog in for orientation and get him on his way to bring the puppy prince that I knew he could be. When I pulled up to what looked like an industrial park, I was a little skeptical because there is minimal grass. Yeah I'm a boogie grass lover! I go inside for the orientation and greeted by about 10 barking dogs ( who I assume) were excited to graduate from their program! Hmm we go into a side room for orientation to wait for the consultant to finish up with a previous session maybe 5 minutes max not long at all. They ask me a few questions about my dog and check his current skill level. After the orientation, they tell me that the next session is full for the next few months. Y'all coulda said that over the phone!! It's all good. I found another place to train my furry prince. All in all, great experience but GaS is Expensive!

Wow! I'm so impressed by Dog Training Now! We got our puppy in the middle of Quarantine and were a little nervous that training places wouldn't be open. DTN was able to get us right in for a consultation and let us know exactly what to expect. Our almost 6 month old girl just finished the 10-day Day Training and she's now so well behaved! She was so excited to go every day and we know she was very well taken care of. The best part is that now that she "graduated", they still have options for continued learning and refresher courses. If anyone is looking for training where they treat your dogs like they would their own, this is the place! Gracie misses you guys already!! Thank you!!

Dog Training Now was recommended to us by a friend who took his pit there to be trained. Our dog was a sweetheart in the house but was dog aggressive when she was on a leash. We enrolled her in the 4 week Board and Train program so she could learn off leash skills too. Of course the biggest piece of the puzzle was training us how to work with her. She's back home and off to a great start to say the least. We have a learning curve but she's a much better listener and behaves better when she's outside and sees another dog. Jesus was our trainer and sent us photo's daily to keep us posted on how she was doing. Seeing her interacting with his family and dogs let us know how well he was taking care of her. Dog Training Now also posts daily photos and videos on their Facebook page. We can't thank them enough for training our girl so we can have her be the wonderful dog inside the house and outside! We recommend Dog Training Now to everyone who has a puppy or an adult dog that should be trained.

Ringo on his "field trips" with DTN trainer Allison & friends!

Thank you Dog Training Now and Allison for another amazing Graduate Refresher Board & Train session for Ringo! Pretty sure he had as much fun with you as we did on our vacation! He met so many new friends & came home with his skills noticeable improved!!

After trying in-home training and group training elsewhere for our Goldendoodle, Miles, he was still hard to control. He was nipping at us and everyone he met. We could barely control him on a leash. After two weeks of day-training, it's like having a new dog! We can walk him and he stays with us, and he barely nips at all. We are trying to keep up with all that he (and we) learned because it is so effective. It is a great balance of praise and discipline that is hard to find in other training. Thanks to the great people at Dog Training Now! Miles loved being with you and you were so kind to him. We will be back for sure. We can't recommend you highly enough!

What can we say... totally impressed and completely satisfied! Blown away by how effective the training was, how engaged Allison was, and how much detailed training WE received when picking up our young man. We did the 12-day board and train program for our rescue lab/dachshund, Zero. We don't know a whole lot about Zero's past, his exact age, nor how trainable he was (or if we were!). We put down the payment in September and waited the 3 months for the opening. As the date came near, we had natural reservations, but knew it was what we needed to do. We were kept up to date daily, and got to watch Zero's progress on Facebook. Allison was amazing with the communication, and was a total professional during OUR training/exit session. We highly recommend Dog Training Now!

Our lab had been going since he was a puppy. Doesn't have a mean bone in his body--family, friends, and strangers have commented on his sweet disposition. 7 Paws even told us he plays with dogs others won't play with. Needless to say we were surprised when they twice claimed he was aggressive with another dog. He's never displayed ANY aggression and they couldn't say what happened or why. Besides, many times he came home with scabs and it never was a concern of theirs then. There are also no webcams available to the public. It left us questioning the staff's level of training and the level of supervision overall. After the second "incident", with no previous warning, we got two differing stories from different workers on what to expect for any future visit. I wish I could say this was the first time we received mixed messages. We reached out twice for clarification--no response. I was shocked when I next picked him up and found he was in a room the size of a closet for the whole visit. He was crying, desperate to go outside and do his business, and based on how much water he needed was very dehydrated. If they replied with clear details and he was clearly in the wrong, I'd be calling our trainer to work on the issue. But no communication leaves me wondering if there isn't a good explanation. After that last visit I worry they just don't care. I guess we'll find another place that does.

I had problems with her barking and growling at men, barking at loud noises, pulling on leash - you name it, I had a problem. I was very nervous about investing in training since it's a big investment, and I was worried the training wouldn't transfer to me. Investing in Tony at Sit Means Sit was the best money I have ever spent in my entire life. Not only did my dog come back a completely different dog, but I also have an ongoing support system. It's been a year and a half since I got my first dog back and a few months since I got my youngest dog back and Tony is just as responsive now as he was in the beginning. He isn't just there to help, you can tell he cares about helping. He is so passionate about all these dogs....it's amazing. I don't know what I'd do without Tony. My life is so different now that I have two well-behaved dogs that listen! I have never seen anybody understand dogs the way he does. You will not regret your investment into this team. Trust me.

The story Violet and Sit Means Sit:…read more Most people know that Pitbulls are some of the most gentle, loving, fun, and all around biggest babies you could imagine. What people don't know, however, is that there's a little something known among the bully breeds as "The Pittie Screams." For those who have never heard this obnoxious sound (i.e. the majority of the population), it's kind of like a mix between a metalcore vocalist and a toddler throwing a hissy fit. It's loud. It's embarrassing. It makes people on the street cower in terror and hide their children. It makes your neighbors look out of their windows because they think someone is getting murdered. Which brings me to my adorable baby girl, Violet. I rescued her in September of 2017, so I really have no idea what she went through prior to being in the shelter. She's a phenomenal dog that loves literally everyone and is very obedient, but I learned fairly quickly that she is NOT a fan of other dogs (or bunnies). The pulling, lunging, barking, screaming, and other aggressive behaviors she exhibits when we encounter animals, made it so difficult to bring her outside that I had to walk her behind the townhouses we live in (shared backyards without separating fences). Thanks to Tony and Mikey, I'm no longer afraid to take Violet for walks ON THE SIDEWALK, like NORMAL pets get to do! Violet spent 11 days doing a Board and Train with them last fall and has progressed phenomenally. They really have done an amazing job with her! They're responsive to any questions and concerns, and the initial training cost includes individual follow-up and group training sessions for the rest of Violet's life. *That being said, it's super important for people to realize that dog training is just as much about training yourself as it is about training the pet. IT'S NOT MAGIC!!! You don't send your dog to a board and train or puppy class and expect them to come home being perfect, obedient angels. Just like human children, your dog is eventually going to be a brat, and you, as the adult, need to learn to lead them and mold their behaviors in a positive way. Sit means Sit has provided both me and Violet with the tools and support we need to continue to overcome her issues with other animals, and we are SO very thankful! Just last week Violet actually let another dog LICK HER FACE. It was amazing and I couldn't be more proud :) Unfortunately, Violet and I will be moving across the country in a few months, but Mikey and Tony will continue to support us and have even offered to help us ease into another Sit Means Sit location. Seriously worth every penny and I recommend them to everyone!

Thrive performed several tests including an echocardiogram and a CT scan. They couldn't find anything, so they concluded he probably had mesothelioma which is fatal. We knew mesothelioma was extremely rare and usually presented with a cough and fatigue. It would have also been especially unusual because he had never been exposed to asbestos. When we said we were confused because he had no cough or other symptoms that would point to that diagnosis, Thrive said that "goldens are like that"--meaning they don't tell us when they're sick. When we asked them what we should do, they told us to "just let him be a dog." The clear message was that he was dying and we should just make the most of our time with him. We then took him back to our regular vet and spent thousands over the next few months trying to treat him based on what Thrive said. When he still didn't start coughing or showing any new symptoms we took him to the University of Wisconsin where they did a repeat echocardiogram and immediately diagnosed him with a fully treatable heart condition. Today he is completely cured. He never had mesothelioma. We came way too close to euthanizing our dog based on what Thrive said. We ultimately spent thousands treating a condition he didn't have and put our beloved dog through so much that wasn't necessary. The right thing for Thrive to do would have been to recommend other places to go for additional diagnostic testing; we certainly would have investigated other options if we thought we had any. We wrote a letter to Thrive recently explaining our disappointment that they didn't find his condition on the echocardiogram and instead defaulted to a fatal rare condition, but their management hasn't responded. Thrive is part of a group of nearly 400 vet clinics owned by a private equity firm. In reading the PE's website content we got the impression that profitability is the priority. Your mileage may vary, but our experience was unnecessarily expensive and very nearly tragic. Had Thrive management bothered to respond they might get another star.
