We bought 2 bottom feeder from here after having a well established fish tank of 15 fish. After just 5 days these 2 bottom feeders contaminated my fish tank with Ick. $50 later, 12 dead fish, multiple trips 30 mins away to try to save my fish and all the Manager of this store wants to do is give me my money back for the 2 bottom feeder, a $5 bottle of treatment I can't use because I have snails, frogs and other cohabits, and will test my water which they offer to everyone...... I have a very upset 3 year old who jus watched his special fish he has had since he was 1.5 years old and picked out himself pass away. This store is a joke!!!!! You will spend $22 for 2 bottom feeders and they will cost you things you can't even replace while they laugh at you because of there crappy products and care!!!! $50 in supplies, $40 in gas, 12 dead fish I still have to replace at $10 each, and still not in the safe zone for the last 5 fish!!!!!! We love our 4 large dogs but our labradoodle had a rough night and ended up in our bed last night. 85 lbs of hot, hairy, slightly smelly dog and we were both feeling like "no way can this happen again!" And also the accompanying guilty feedings so off to petsmart we went! So many choices and at ALL price points. Needless to say we found a perfect bed for the Labradoodle. We have tried their grooming 5 times now. We make appointments and 3 times they were at least 15 min late letting us in. Twice we have had a horrible haircut in which there have been huge chunks of hair all lengths. I did talk to the manager this last time and asked him to come to the parking lot and see what $75 gets you. He would not, just wanted to give me a free haircut the next time I come. I explained that we would never be back but wanted him to understand the quality of service of his business. Of course they kept our $75! read more

Clean and well stocked. Helpful staff. My dog is on a special diet because of ph in her urine, and I usually get her dog food directly from the vet. I ran out on a Saturday but the vet was closed and panicked when I realized I wasn't sure what to feed her till Monday when the vet would be open. Go figure, the first place we stop for winter clothing and gear on our four day shopping spree was pet smart. The fur babies are always first! We're used to getting ripped off on overly expensive pet items, food, treats, and supplies while living in the Caribbean and this place was awesome to experience decent pricing. We loaded up on dog dental chews, treats (they have a super sale section), stuffed bones, food, toys and got the kids matching coats for the snow. They have sooooo many options for dog winter coats its ridiculous. You got to really check the dog clothing well, one of the coats we picked up was stained (probably a return) so we had to go back and return it but our dogs didn't mind another trip back because they ended up getting even more goodies. I have brought my dog to the grooming salon many times before the pandemic. I am not sure if the staff has changed, but the quality I received is not what I am used to. I brought both my golden retrievers in to reduce their shedding and requested really short cuts. The way they cut their hair is so horrible. It is uneven, choppy, and looks like the truly didn't care about the end result. I am so disappointed because I used to use their services quite often. After this last visit, I don't think I will be going back. read more

First ever yelp review. Never had an experience that I felt needed me to take the time to sit down and write one. Especially a bad one. But the woman who had salon lead on her name tag when I went into to get my 3 month old puppies nails trimmed was EXCEPTIONALLY rude. Right off the bat. Like I didn't even say a word just walked in the door and she immediately sneered at me and took an irritated tone. It did bit get any better from there. The entire exchange she was short, irritated tone.. like she did not even want me to walk in the door. Didn't end up performing the service because of policy.. okay fair. Brought home fish with anchor worms! I thought it was just the goldfish which I understand can happen in fish that are possibly pond raised but I didn't know the entire store is run though a single filtration system so not just the goldfish but the 3 blue rams I bought that night all have them. The rams didn't survive the infestation but the Oranda is still fighting and we are still picking them off him when we see them and treating the hospital tank we had set up for him. The rams were in my 30 gallon quarantine tank which now has to be treated for 3 weeks with expensive medication because the eggs and larva will be in everything. I'm more than disgusted. read more

My daughter and her family just moved to Bellingham and took their dog to PetSmart for a bath. When I went to pick up the dog, they charged me an extra $11 for some unknown reason. When I realized this after I got back to their house, I called the store and was told it was for a teeth cleaning -- a service we did not request! At checkout an Employee walked up with the check out in progress to tell me that the Dog Food I was purchasing was "HORRIBLE". It is the food my Vet sent me in to get. Then they said my credit card was declined. How embarrassing. My card is just fine, the machine does not work. No Halter----no stock. Told that they have changed Dog Trainers -- no wonder. I've been here a number of times and though maybe they do a fair job, these people seem to have no genuine care or concern for the dogs. If you watch them in the window they are not happy and I can't recall ever seeing them showing kindness to the dogs. It led me to question one day, what goes on where nobody's watching. It takes 3 hours to have them groomed which I don't mind but if you show up early they tell you to come back later. (I was a half hour early). Best pet groomer ever goes to Britt at Petsmart! Great low price for top dollar results. I have a huge fluffy dog that just returned from Alaska and really needed some groomer love. She hates being groomed but loved Brittany! I've never EVER seen my dog look so healthy! Great teeth nails and hears cleaned too! I'll never go anywhere else. I brought my cat into PetSmart groomers and was assured that they could take the matts out of cat's fur on his under belly. I warned the groomer when making the appointment about his behavior and said to let me know if they couldn't do the job. I also asked if they could take 1/2 an inch of fur off. When I went back to get my cat the matts weren't removed and his haircut was a hack job. Will never return. Do not recommend PetSmart for cat grooming. read more

I was very disappointed with the grooming department today. My dog can be difficult to groom, so I have had to pick him up twice before only partially groomed. Each time, I talked with the groomer about what the problems were, and I worked with my dog at home to fix them. After making an appointment online, with added notes about what I have been doing at home and what I expected the groomers to be able to accomplish, I was told at the store that they were not going to groom my dog. They made no apologies for not notifying me earlier, and were (in my opinion) rude as well. If they are going to refuse service because my dog is difficult, I understand. But a place of business should have called me yesterday to let me know. I had set aside my whole afternoon and they let me drive all the way there instead of calling me at some point. read more

Regarding their fish and customer service on the bellingham location. I've bought plenty of fish from petsmart years ago and just recently, that have died constantly. I feed my fish a proper amount, test my waters, and clean weekly. I have never overstocked my tanks either. Not to mention I've been told by various people not to shop at petsmart, because of their poorly taken care of fish. Even looking through the tanks at the store, I've seen at times 1 dead fish/per tank... I've seen whole tanks of fish gasping for oxygen at the top... I got tired of the fish quality problem, and started looking for other fish retailers near where I live and found two downtown (Clark's feed and seed and bellingham pet supply) that I haven't had any problems with and that are still alive. Then the few times that I have tried to return the fish at petsmart to get a refund or an exchange, the employees were rude. Just recently I went in for my last return on an exchanged fish and was told that I lost my receipt, and was argued with. I wasn't given an exchange recipt, all I had was some employees scribbles on my original receipt that said exchange. It's good that they have a return policy because costomers will need it. I'm just fed up and if I ever do shop in petsmart I'm going to request a return/exchange receipt, but at this point its not that likely. read more

I took my pekingese in to get a bath done and sanitary area trimmed. When I looked at the sanitary area, it was burned like a razor burned and scabbed over. I will no longer take him back at all. The girls there were also not so kind to the animals. Some dogs had a hard time staying still and they would just have a very hateful ton towards them. I'm sorry but you need to be calm with these fur babies because you don't know what they have been through or they are nervous. They can feel the energy you give off. read more

He managed to navigate his way through the big corporate maze and with the support of his regional manager Stephanie (brilliant lady), figured out away to get the special order food we wanted. Btw if coming from Canada you can save a lot by shopping here...We save a least a dollar a can and about $30.00 on a large bag of dry kibble for hills prescription dog food. Your local vet can write you a prescription that the Petsmart in store Banfiled clinic will honour without having to pay for an appointment. previous posting: Have shopped here for years....service has always been hit and miss but never rude. Our last time in we met a new manager (Miles) and it was like a breath of fresh air as he was very pleasant to deal with, however Miles talks a good game and does not follow through.
