TERRIBLE SERVICE. The ABSOLUTE WORSE experience with grooming that we've EVER had (dog owners for over 15 years). Please don't visit the grooming salon- all of the groomers are young and inexperienced and have little experience with maltese and poodle grooming. They said my dog was matted (he wasn't) and wanted to shave him down or charge me "extra to brush out". I took him to a real groomer 5 miles up the road who said that his hair was fine and in good shape. wow. Please don't allow your dog in the hands of these people. read more

My dog LOVES staying at the PetSmart Pet Hotel. All of the employees know her by name as soon as we get there. I have not met 1 employee there that wasn't enthusiastic, friendly and extremely excited about their job, and about caring for my dog specifically. This hotel is superior to other day camps and overnight kennels I've used. There is 24/7 watch on my dog, unlike other camps where the dogs are left alone in fenced-in areas. I was also able to help with one of their "Night Care Specialists," who was also extremely friendly and passionate about their job. I will never leave my dogs in the care of anyone other than the PetSmart Pet Hotel!!! read more

This review is for the pet hotel. It used to be great, but in the last 6 months to a year the quality of the service has really suffered. If you can even get through on the phone to make an appointment. Prepare to be on hold for at least 10+ min every single time you call. This includes to check on your pet while it's there. My dogs vaccine records have been out of date there for some time which they remind me of when I FINALLY get through on the phone, but they always fail to ask for proof when I drop her off. I keep her vaccines up to date, but Who knows the number of dogs in there that aren't vaccinated. I used to use this place for my dog fairly frequently, but because of the raised rates and the decline in service I'll be going elsewhere. read more

We regularly go here to get our dogs' nails done. Their nails typically end up being satisfactory. To be quite honest, we have so little trust in the employees at this point that we stand at the window and watch. We no longer get the package where they take the dogs in the back. Twice now an employee has tried to put a cone on. Both times we were watching and they tried to put a cone on them for no reason other than the fact that they were pulling their paws away. The employees take breaks with dogs' paws in hand to talk to each other, making the perfect situation for a dog to want to pull their paw away. On more than one occasion I've seen groomers get annoyed with dogs and be forceful with them. We would not continue to get our dogs' nails done here if there was a better option. Every few visits we are pleasantly surprised with the groomers, but we always keep an eye on our dogs--just in case! read more

This review is for the groomers. We've given them many chances. But every time we go, there's something off. With this dog, we've been three times--the first two times, they failed to cut his face hair hardly at all (claiming he moved too much--that's why we pay you $50). The third and last time, we didn't want to go, but the other groomers in town were all booked up. They did cut his face hair finally, super uneven. They shaved down his paws which we asked them to do, but one they shaved down so much it was very red. We did notice it when we got home--he kept lifting it during walks and licking it at night. Fortunately it didn't get infected but he was clearly in pain. No more chances, Petsmart. There are way better choices in Ann Arbor. read more

I don't know about the grooming, hotel, or vet, but the store itself takes excellent care of the pets they sell. I work at a nearby vet and they bring in their pets at the very first sign of something wrong. They bring them all back in for rechecks and everything. There was even a rat brought in because it had a slight head tilt. I don't know of any other pet stores that large that notice such small details. I'm very impressed with the care they receive. read more

Visited here for the first time last night. Very friendly staff who were more than ready to help with fish and questions about bedding for our snakes as well. The cashier was also very friendly and the store itself was very clean and well stocked. Will definitely be back : ) read more

This store is ok. They are mainly geared towards dogs and cats. Their reptile supplies seem to always be on order. So much that i only shop the day after their order "thursdays" if you come on order day its all in the back so if ur a reptile person looking for lights or feeder rats. thusday is the best day to try. read more

I recently experienced excellent customer service at this Petsmart location! Brad, one of the store managers, went above and beyond to get a backordered product for me and was generally extremely helpful and generous. I would definitely recommend this store to others! read more

They're a bit on the expensive side, but the selection rocks. They stock some of the weird food that we've had to use over the years. You can bring your dog in with you, if you're in to that sort of thing. read more

This location's pet grooming salon is not welcoming, not organized, not helpful so my experience was not a good one. It was a waste of my time as I was not able to leave my dog for her bath because her vaccination had been administered 24 hours ago. Not sure why PetSmart requires 48 hours, they seem alone in this but it was frustrating since it's so close to the holiday and I didn't have a lot of time to spare fooling around with this only to not have this item checked off my list. Will not be returning. read more

Always fun to come here - helpful staff and cute animals!! Tonight they opened another cash register just so I didn't have to wait in line - very thoughtful :) Thanks! read more

I enjoy shopping at pet stores for my dogs. The times I have been into this particular PetSmart, however, the cashiers have been less than attentive, slow, and more interested in talking & goofing around with one another than ringing up my items. This is more than enough reason for me not to support this chain. read more

This is for the PetHotel. I have a fluffy Goldendoodle that stayed at the hotel. When he came out he looked like a stray dog and my heart dropped. He was pulling us out the door clearly looking for a place to go potty and couldn't even make it to the door. My fully housebroken dog wet himself trying to get to the door to go outside. He peed so much it was very clear that he hadn't gone that day, and our check-out time was 2pm! When we finally got him outside he peed again and pooped twice. There is no way they took him out since the night before and they expected him to be okay until the afternoon. How could they put the dog through that and not take them out at appropriate times? This clearly wasn't the first accident he had there since some of his toys and his bed smelled like they had been cleaned. I think that is why is fur looks dirty, as if they just sprayed him with something to clean him and now he smells weird. It seems like they take advantage of the fact that the dog can't tell you what actually happened while you were gone. I am starting to wonder if we can even trust that he got the extra playtime and treats that we paid for. He will never be going back there again. read more

The doggie day camp is great. I've been using it for over five years and some of the original employees are still there. They truly care about animals. And they are so flexible. I feel TOTALLY comfortable leave my dog there. Only thing I would change is give the animals access to outside or at least a daily outside walk - would even pay extra for it when boarding. read more

Rude and Indifferent to Customer Needs. This is the third time bringing my dog in for a nail trim. I called ahead to ask the best timing, as there are no appts for nail trims...I arrived at that time suggested, there were no dogs in the grooming area. One gal swept the floor the other wrote on the computer, finally someone asked why I was there and if I'd been there before. She never looked up from the computer keyboard and continued typing. After about 10 minutes someone arrived with a grooming appointment, I was asked to take my dog out and wait out of the grooming studio. I asked "you are going to take them before me?" "Yes" she replied. Looking up she told me they have an appointment. "There are a few more coming who have appointments too". I asked "Can I make an appointment?" "No" she said, "Nail trims are quick." Which I replied "And yet, I've been standing here for 10 minutes when you could have done my dogs nails." I will never go back there. The third time and each time they have been rude and indifferent to customer needs. read more

My dogs and I love Ann Arbor's PetSmart. My, soon to be, 3 year old boxer has been a patient at Banfield Pet Hospital since we adopted him at 7 weeks old. At 9 months he needed emergency surgery and although this location did not have an opening for surgery they were very prompt (calling before the vet opended) in finding me another location that had an opening that day. Their help saved my boxer's life and me money at the same time. My boxer also attended Doggy Day Camp and staying in the Pet Hotel. In November I rescued a 10 month old pit bull. We immediately enrolled her in Banfield's Wellness Plan. The veterinarians at Banfield are amazing and their staff is as well. They worked very hard in finding a time to get my newly rescued pit bull in and were able to work with me and the Humain Society of Huron Valley to get her in touch with the services she needed as quickly as possible. My pit bull now has successfully graduated Beginners Training and Intermediate Training courses and will soon be enrolled in Advanced training. We have been training with the pet trainer Shannon and she is fantastic. I have zero complaints about the customer service at this location. I have been highly invested in all of the services that they provide and would recommend this facility to any of my friends looking for places to take their pups. The only one downfall that I have found is that their pet hotel is not at pit bull friendly as I would hope. My pitty is not allowed to attend their dog day camp and is not allowed to be boarded with my boxer. She must stay in her own kennel if she is to be boarded. This being said I would recommend their boarding and camps to ANYONE and EVERYONE, as long as you do not have a bull breed dog. I love PetSmart and will continue going here for the duration of living in the area. read more

This will always be my go-to PetSmart. The grooming salon changes staff frequently, but I have never had a problem and always make sure to give a specific description of what I want so that there is no mis-communication (as I would do anywhere). The hotel staff are always friendly and give me a thorough analysis of how my dogs act during their stay there. They greet my dogs by name when we come in, and come running from around the counter to greet them. We feel like family when going in to this store, and we will never go anywhere else! read more

This review is for the grooming. We brought our nervous little dog there for a badly over-due hair cut. Our dog hates having that done, and kept trying to get back in the car on our way in. Tracie was great with her and her haircut was adorable! Tracie turned her matted mess of a tail into a jaunty poof. It's been so hot lately and our dog is openly happy about having all her extra fur gone. As long as Tracie (Tracy?) works there - we'll be back! read more

I have been a loyal Ann Arbor MI Petsmart customer for all services including: training, grooming, Banfield's Vet services, doggie day care and overnight care for my soft coated Wheaten terrier for the past year-and-a-half. My groomer has always been kind, considerate and I have ALWAYS treated her with respect and tipped generously. I have always praised their services and treatments. However, this past week I have been totally disrespected by the grooming center and the store manager. My previous groomer left and I followed her recommendation for a groomer. I made an appointment well-in-advance to the busy holiday season. I received an abrupt and rude phone call that I was "late" for the appointment. According to my recorded calendar I was 45 minutes early for the appointment. The entire situation spun into an extremely rude and belittling treatment of ME when according to my calendar I was not wrong. Instead of trying to build a positive result to this miscommunication I was continued to be compromised and belittled by the store manager. So...at this point I am withdrawing myself as a customer of this store, their groomers and especially a very condescending manager. Hopefully this may save some of you from from being treated as if YOU ARE THE PROBLEM instead of Petsmart . They obviously didn't want my numerous services and I guess do not need to maintain a "happy customer" base that goes out and praises them. Again...my disrespect came from the groomers and the store manager. I discourage your choice to use the grooming services and don't expect any support from the manager...you will be "belittled" and made to feel you owe the apology...not the the Petsmart folks for acting a little too "smart" for their own good and especially to hold their customer loyality. I love Petsmart! They have everything you could think of and provide personable employees to help you find exactly what you need. I love the sales they have and what they have on sale is always stuff I need! The selection of fish is the most I have seen anywhere and to top it off they have a hotel, grooming station, and a vet right inside the store! I have never boarded my dog here but inquired from other people and they say it is great! They offer private rooms and you can have a play session for your dog to enjoy themselves while they are there. People have told me that the do everything they can to make your pet comfortable. The best thing about Petsmart is there amazing staff who are all so knowledgeable about every animal you could think of! read more

This review is an acknowledgement of the excellent customer care I received from Katey at the Ann Arbor location. Before making a reservation for my therapy dog, I asked a "gazillion" question. Ms. Katey was polite, thorough, patient and honest in her answers. Ms. Katey explained the difference between each service offered and its cost. She walked me through the website explaining how to download the forms that needed to be filled out. At a later date I will post my experience with the other staff. Katey was "spot on" when assisting me. read more

nerver take you dog to these groomers, this was my second try, with them, we left our dog there, they said 3-4hrs, which is stupid, we came back in three hrs. they had only bathed her, that means she sat in their cages for at least two hrs, plus the trim was way uneven and her tail was't even trimmed!!!!!!! read more

WORST GROOMING EXPERIENCE EVER. After taking my dog there once previously, we had no problems and were returning for our second time. When we arrived our groomer said she was leaving to go to the doctor and her manager Barbie was coming in to groom him instead. He was supposed to be done at 11am but by noon I still hadn't received a call so I called them and Barbie said she would be done with him in 30 min and he was doing great. HOWEVER, once I arrived Barbie said things took a turn for the worst and he became super aggressive and tried to bite her and that's why she cut his nose with the razor. I apologized and she said we should be lucky she didn't ban him from the store, however, this would be put in his notes. Mind you, last time he did perfectly fine and he has never shown aggression in his life, is only 8 lbs and has no teeth so I couldn't understand why Barbie kept going on and on about how aggressive he was and how she was so scared...but hey, dogs sense bad people so makes sense. Anyway, so THEN Barbie proceeds to tell me that she thinks my dog has a neurological disorder and an ear infection and that she asked the vet there about it and she confirmed. She explained in in such a condescending way as if I was the worst dog parent ever for not knowing these things. So I take my dog to the vet the next week and NOTHING IS WRONG WITH HIM. All in all, a terrible experience with Barbie and I will never be taking my dog back to PetSmart again. read more
