I've been to the same groomer at the Altamonte Springs PetSmart for more than 5 years. I took my two Golden's in on Thursday February 23rd 2017. Both ran in happily but when I picked them up one could not stand and the other was limping. I immediately took the one that couldn't stand to a vet. She was dead within the hour. Upon examination of the other in addition to her limp she had skin burns and the grooming was choppy. We buried our pet yesterday and my wife and I are devastated. This petsmart sucks - but I really only go in for the fish department. It's extremely dirty and not well kept- and many many dead fish. I've been in 4 different times to see if anything had changed, but it hasn't. They also never have a large enough supply of fish. Like 5 per tank, if even. read more

Everyone was nice enough, but I was told to come back to pick up my dog at a certain time for grooming, and when I arrived, they hadn't even started his haircut yet. I was kept waiting for over 30 min, after the store had already closed. I was told more than once, "just a few more minutes!" They really shouldn't have let me come in if they didn't have enough staff to get him ready on time. read more

I have patronized this location for the last 10 years and spend weekly in excess of $150 on cat food. During this past year, I have found it more and more difficult to find the brands and flavors I have been buying for years i.e. Fancy Feast Chicken Primavera Pate, Fancy Feast Chopped Grill Pate, etc. In addition I purchased an expensive water fountain and then when I went to purchase replacement filters they never have the specific type I need. During the holidays and even up to this past Friday, the shelves in the cat food section are almost bare and when I asked the sale associate what was going on, her answer was that there is a shortage because of a trucking strike and that this was affecting PetsCo and Chewy as well. I Googled this and found nothing to confirm her excuse. I did see that Petsmart staff are threatening to strike because they are complaining of unsafe working conditions and lack of hazard pay due to the Pandemic. Another sales associate blamed thin supplies on COVID. I am tired of the excuses and it is funny that when I went to Chewy, they had what I have not been able to find in PetsMart without issue. Chewy is owned by PetSmart so I am not sure as to why there is an issue with making purchases in store. PetsMart staff may not have to worry about striking, as it seems the motive is to get people to purchase online thus negating the need for the stores. read more

I recently took my dog in to get groomed and he was perfectly healthy, not showing any signs of being sick. After the visit he started coughing, not eating, had diarrhea and now has a respiratory infection according to the vet. I called a few days after his service because his cough progressed and he was only getting sicker. The last place he was at was the groomer and I was told that it could've been kennel cough and that it's normal in a place like that. My dog was not getting the proper care and I was not aware that there were other sick dogs in contact with my dog. I spoke to a manager and the grooming office and the vet in pet smart and was getting told different stories as to what happened the day I brought the dog in. I will not be taking my dog back here and will not be doing business with pet smart. I'm very upset with the service I received and the fact my dog ended up being sick because of the cleanliness of the area. read more

I'm a fan of any pet store that doesn't sell dogs or cats but instead allows adoption agencies to set up shop and find homes for abandoned pets. This particular Petsmart in Altamonte Springs is one of the older stores in the area and it shows. They did recently go through some renovations but they mostly focused on the floors, bathrooms and the grooming area. But it's the shelving that could really use replacing. The bottom of the shelves are stained and rusting from dog urine. However, the employees are generally friendly and the prices fair. read more

I have taken my two puppies here multiple times in the past. I will never make that mistake again. My best friend recently took her perfectly healthy puppy here to be groomed. When we returned to pick him up we immediately noticed something was off in his behavior. On the ride back home, he began coughing. A nasty, dry cough as if something were choking him. Over the course of literally TWO days; the cough continued, he had diarrhea, refused to eat, and didn't even want to go for a walk. She took him back with obvious concerns and was told he had contracted Kennel Cough (an upper respiratory infection that can be extremely harmful in puppies such as himself) while in their care. They said in order to treat him, it would cost $700 regardless of the fact that they were at fault (lousy cleaning and disinfecting procedures). Louie is a puppy, only a few months old. Prior to taking him to PetSmart, he was perfectly healthy and happy. We are beyond concerned and extremely heartbroken to know he was not properly cared for while we trusted them with their services. read more

This location is always well stocked and carry a lot of goodies for dogs and cats. They carry Royal Canin which is the ONLY food I'll give my dogs. read more

I love this store! especially Brittany in the grooming dept, even thou I dont get there as much as I should! she is awesome, loving, kind, and takes care of my baby as if she were her own. And not to forget about the rest of the staff... they are all wonderful and so kind as well. wouldnt take my Dog anywhere else. did we say we LOVE Brttany ! give them a try .....you'll never use anyone else again. read more

I recently had a bad experience in there. And when I wrote it on the survey I get a response back that seemed like they copied and pasted from a templet they keep. The manager sent how sorry he was about the service but took no responsability for a manager who took more time to figure out where her cashier ran off to instead of opening the next register for the people who have been waiting more then 15 mins. There was at least four other customers behind me. Can't imagine the last person in line. Just not a good choice as a manager. Should have helped the line get down. Then worried about where her cashier may have ran off to, and I understand if the cashier was helping someone that's ok I'm not writing about the cashier I'm writing about the manager who did nothing. I never had a problem with this store or the grooming salon...until most recently. I have a 16 year old miniature Schnauzer that woeghs 12 pounds. I consistently received report cards telling me that she was a good girl. I scheduled an appointment for her at the grooming salon the week before my wedding so she would be at her best when we had family visit. I was gathering up my things and leaving my home to bring her to PetSmart when I received a call from the salon telling me that they would be unable to groom her. He couldn't tell me why and said that I just need to call and speak with the manager. I was unable to call the manager until after I returned from my honeymoon... I left a message and never received a call back. I called a few days later after looking online and finding the manager's number. She tells me that there are notes in August where they told me that I have to go to a vet to get her groomed because she can't stand for the three hours needed to groom her. I was never given this information and further don't understand why they didn't tell me this when I brought her in after that or when I scheduled the next appointment or when they canceled that appointment on me. It is very sad because they were getting business from me shopping there too but that will no longer happen. I found and booked an appointment with another salon in Yelp that is rated highly so I am pretty sure she will be in better hands now. read more

Worst customer service in the fish department. We bought a fish on 1/4/2015 and as we were leaving one of the so called employees said "thank you, your fish is going to die". I assume she said this because we didn't buy a water softener for a fish tank. I will not be purchasing anything from this store again. read more

Pets mart is fine but stay away from their banfield....Long story short...my dog had a simple yeast infection and they wanted to give me $300 worth of steroids, ear drops, antibiotics and flea treatments. I declined, gave my dog vinegar in her water with broth and switched her food to grain free. She was 100% better in 2 days. The vet tried to use medical terms to make her condition sound really serious despite the fact that she diagnosed her with something she didn't test for and it proved to be untrue anyway. read more

I never had a problem with this store. I have been going there for years. The grooming salon at this Petsmart is always busy and very nice when I drop Rosie off. They always greet Rosie and she loves it there, Brielle is my groomer and she always gives Rosie hugs and plays with her when she comes in the Salon. I always get a smiley face when she receives a Pawgress report. Eric,is always nice and every time I see him groom a dog he is very nice to them. I love the Grooming salon they are the nicest associates in the store, and Rosie is always looks great when she gets her haircut.!! read more

The reviews about customer service in the the grooming department being rude is true! I made an appointment online for my small dog to have a basic wash which detailed trimming of the paws, etc., when I called to verify the appointment and to ask if I selected the right service for what I wanted done the lady tells me she will not be the person to do the services if I wanted add ons, to hold and someone will help me. I was placed on hold, someone picked up the line, I spoke with them about what I wanted, she placed me on hold to look up the pricing, someone new picks up the phone minutes later and asked me the same questions, I tell her I've spoke my request to the person who placed me on hold, this would be the third time asking it, at this time I'll like to cancel instead because of the confusion and she HUNG UP on me! No return call, no apology no bye! I only wanted to be sure I was getting what I wanted for my girl because of the reviews I read on yelp and google showed folks were not pleased with their pups cuts. Sorry I annoyed you all! read more
