The main things they need are: Gallon bleach, Laundry soap, Wet pate dog or puppy food, and paper towels.

The staff are kind, friendly, and professional, and they truly show appreciation for our time. Those little gestures of gratitude and care mean so much and are often overlooked. The facility itself is incredibly clean, and the dogs and cats are clearly loved and exceptionally well cared for. The pups have great play areas to romp and burn off energy, and there is an excellent animal behaviorist who helps socialize the dogs and make them more adoptable. Having volunteered at another shelter in the past where appreciation was rarely expressed, the difference here is remarkable. This organization genuinely values both its animals and its volunteers. We rescued our Frenchie (Brandy) at Our Pal's Place on Feb. 18, 2024. The entire staff was so…read morehelpful and so loving towards their rescues. They helped us and answered all our questions. Brandy is a perfect fit for us and so loving. We have boarded her twice at Our Pals Place and their attentiveness to our questions, or instructions on what our Brandy eats. They let us bring her bed, blanket, toy, food and meds. Gigi, the Owner and Director is on site, and she makes everything so easy. We were on vacation, and we received two photos of our Brandy playing with large and small dogs. They introduced her to others slowly to make sure all was alright. Our Pal's Place is by far #1 in our book for this area. Privately run and not a large corporate boarding facility. I cannot say enough. Thank you, Gigi and your staff.

We found a beautiful German Shepard mix today at the Dollar Store up the street. We could tell the…read moredog belonged to someone because the dog looked very well cared for (the dog looked to be at least 80 pounds or more) but its obvious he is lost. The poor guy kept going up to every car in the parking lot hoping he would bump into someone he knew. At one point he actually ran toward the main intersection and we actually had to run out to grab him. After a quick search on Google we found Our Pal's and decided to bring the lost dog here to see if we can find his owner. We talked to Gigi the owner who was so nice and helpful. She gave us the name of a vet down the street (Shallowford Animal Hospital) who could check to see if he is chipped. We could tell Gia cared about our lost dog and even gave us a really strong leash to use... Thanks to Our Pal's we were able to find the lost dog's owner. Thanks Gia and the staff here....you guys are an animal's best friend.

I adopted this sweet girl on 7/29. I noticed she was lethargic but I thought it might be all the…read morecraziness from being at petsmart then coming home with me. She refused to eat and the next day I took her to the vet for bloody discharge. They found a cyst and prescribed antibiotics. Two days later, I kept having this nagging feeling that something wasn't right. So I took her to my personal vet who did blood work and discovered she had a life threatening infection that required hospitalization. I opted not to put her in the hospital and brought her home with me, along with her prescription food, her NEW course of antibiotics and her probiotics. For the last two weeks, Elli has been on two different antibiotics and I've been praying for her to pull through. Luckily for me, she made a full recovery and DCHS refuses to take any responsibility for adopting out a sick dog or to reimburse the $1000s I've spent on medical care. Buyer beware of pets here.

First of all, when we…read moreadopted her, we were told she would be very small, she weighed 2.3 lbs. when we picked her up. She grew like wildfire and now weighs 9.8 lbs. and the vet says she is still growing!! She was very hard to house break or to train her to do anything. She destroyed the carpets in our home, not just by peeing or pooping but by chewing them. She also has chewed corners off dressers, doors, and cabinets and still at 1 year old scratches, like a cat on evrything. (and I have scars on my legs to prove it) We even paid $1600 extra for a 2-wk. Board and Train where she spent 2 weeks in the home of one of CD's expert trainers. When we picked her up I expected her to have learned things like" stay, crate, no, down", etc. and maybe even been closer to being potty trained! All she learned was sit., & down, which she quickly forgot how to do as soon as we brought her home from the trainers. One other thing, we were under the impression we would meet the breeder. I'm not sure. but we picked her up at someone's house because she was being "fostered there until we could pick her up". DO YOU'RE RESEARCH WHEREVER YOU PURCHASE A PUPPY. She is 14 months old now and we do love her as one of the family but she is still a handful and a slow learner.
