Took my dog there to be groomed. 2 1/2 hours later my dog came back limping & extremely red irritated eye. Took him to a animal clinic to see if anything might be broken because he was in pain. I went back to tell the owner and he seemed unconcerned. I will never go back. read more

I've been coming here for years. Do you know those flea programs cost like 85 bucks for a box I just never have the money for that. That doesn't mean I don't want my dog to have the best flea program ever. I come to this pet store and they'll sell me just one . I like the price of $15 much better. I'm pet sitting my best friends dog. She's the sweetest little dog. Every year around this time at night time I can hear the cat screaming orgy time !!! Then there's kitties everywhere. Poor thing I took her for a walk and she caught a flea. I might be one of those kind of people that obsess over things like this. So I hopped right in my car and went straight to my favorite pet store! Expect me to be picking fleas like a monkey until she's flea free ! Thank you for being reasonable ! I love coming in and checking in on the animals too . Keep Downey strong and keep Downey's pets safe and healthy! Heart emoji! read more

Little background. I have a 2yr Maltipoo who is very hyper and can be a handful for groomers. The big chains always seem to just give up or they keep completely clear of his sensitive areas. I had to download Yelp! to just write this review. This is the worst place that I had to DOWNLOAD this app to complain. Let's start by saying that I called them, made an appointment, and they told me to come in an hour. After giving them my name and phone number, I got there, and the man was being very rude to me and told me that my name wasn't there, trying to say that I WAS LYING when I spent my time driving over there in the first place. And then the guy said, and affirmed that I called another place! That's not even true. I have a small shitzu. They charged me $120. She is an inside dog, and they're telling me that she was tangled, that it was like grooming two dogs. How tangled could she be?? They took advantage of me. Don't waste your time and money. The haircut was TERRIBLE. I had to go home and finish the work and also put a dress on her so she wouldn't look bad. Worst SERVICE, and I believe that the owner was there! Please try to believe any negative comments here. unless you want THIS happen to you. My dog's name is Frida, and I hope the people that work here remember me for charging me $120. Dls and giving me and my dog a really bad service. read more

Quite honestly, I kick myself for not coming here sooner. My kitties were both due for a nail trim and I'm too scared to do this myself. One, they are both old and I may mess it up and make them bleed or something and two...well, there is no two. Me potentially hurting them is enough to put some fear in me, enough to seek professional services for. I called around and appointments elsewhere were few and far between and I called this place and low and behold they were able to take us the next day. We walked in and were greeted warmly. I confirmed who we were and what we were there for. The lady there took the first cat and held her tight and cut her little nails to a safe length and then moved on to the next. We were done in 10 minutes flat or so. It was great. *Based on reviews below I have changed my total stars from 5 to 2. The two is only because I felt they were very accommodating. I am scared now for puppies that go there for grooming and other care. My word, if you don't like pets shut down or I will make sure the SPCALA Humane Officers become aware of you and shut you down by force. read more

So I come to this store every now and then but this last visit will definitely be my last ... The people that work there are very rude and unprofessional they are very degrading made me feel like i was stupid just cuz they are not in the mood to deal with customers.. On top of that they have kittens with no water and they are obviously hungry because they are eating their own poop ... All the reptiles looked depressed one of them even had worms in their poop .....they apparently don't care about their animals never coming back here again as i should suggest to anyone else read more

Pets & Grooming - From fur ball to summer look! Basically naked! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Bell Gardens, California

The owner should put outside a sign that says "do not enter if you're only going to browse" I came in here one day (didn't even get greeted) and I wanted to look at the kittens. I stayed for about 5 minutes just checking out the kittens. The man never asked me if I had any questions. I felt uncomfortable so I just left and as I was walking out to exit the store, he just said " YOU'RE WELCOME" in a very rude and condescending way. I was like shocked to hear that. This man has some serious personal issues. Don't even come if you want to browse or you'll get sarcasm. And for the owner: In the future, don't expect customers to tell you thank you if you're going to be all rude. Nobody will say thank you to you if you didn't even bother to greet when a customer enters the store. Also, you didn't even bother to help out. Just my two cents. read more

Beware! Be very aware! I trusted Ruby to cut my terriers hair once and she did a great job. Came here years ago to take a look at the reptile selection. Owner was changing the water for the fish as I walked by and around the store, he then asked me why I was in the store in a very hostile manner. I was confused and said I was browsing for some items I needed. He then says if I'm not going to buy anything he's not sure why I'm there. At the time I was a reptile breeder and that same day I took my $2k and went to a competitors store in long beach to pick up the tanks and incubators, and other supplies I needed for my rack system/breeding system. I am getting back into the business and this place showed up in the results, so I thought I'd give my review of my experience there. I would never step foot in there again, as he seemed not to want my money. Horrible service. Remember folks, bad experiences leave a bad impression, even years after. read more

Keep this short. Took my two dogs there last week , they usually charge me $90 for both dogs. However for some reason the price went up to $120. Since it's the only place that's open because of the virus I went ahead and left them there . Wife picks them up 4 hours later. We weren't happy with the cuts but no big deal they still looked better than they did when we took them in , it's been like two months since we got them groomed. Then the next day I'm playing with my dog and notice a big gash on her leg! I'm sure they notice that the cut was there and never told us. Should have trusted the previous reviews. Will never be going back there again. read more

If I was able to give zero stars I would, by far the worst service ever and they charged for services not even done. They keep your pet musseled over three hours, make you pay extra for drops to "calm" your pet and then still tell you they are unable to brush the teeth due to the mussel they put on him and didn't cut the nails because she didn't feel it was needed which I had told her in advance it wasn't and she insisted it did upon arrival. Save your money and your pet, just don't come here.

Ive adopted kittens from this place. They were healthy so no cons about that. The lady who worked there was very kind. The older man which im assuming is the owner wasnt too friendly. The younger man he WAS okay until i realized he was overcharging me. The lady told me over the phone and in person two more times that the kitten adoption fee was $80. So as i was paying the fee he tells me no the fee is $90. I told him i was told 3 times its $80, and tried adding things so i can pay more. I didnt like him, you can tell he was just trying to take advantage. Oh and one more con, the place is always like a oven. No proper airflow for the animals in there. Smelled terrible and the heat in the store made it worse. read more

I am SOOOOOOOO disappointed! I called yesterday & asked what was the earliest appointment they had. The guy told me it starts at 9am. I got here at 9:04 & Snoopy was taken in. It's 11:09am right now & the guy just told me he hasn't been bathed & he won't be ready until after 1pm & that he'll call me. If I knew their process was to cut his hair & move on to the dogs so they can get haircuts & a bath comes later on, I would have NEVER booked & spent $105 for grooming!!!! All he said was, "things happen & there was an 8:30 appt." Ummmmm so you mean to tell me it takes that long to cut hair for 2 small poodle mix???! Come on this place is a JOKE & only want your money! Now I gotta wait until after 1pm to get the pup. On top of that drive all the way to Moreno Valley (currently in Downey) after 1pm to deliver this pup to their new owners (he's a rescue). Never ever again will this place have my support !!!! read more

Worst pet shop I have ever done business with. I feel I was took advantage of. I went in to purchase a gift for my mothers dog. Come to find out she already had the item. I went back to return it the following day. I was told by the gentleman in charge that they do not do full refunds and all I was able to get is a store credit. Nowhere in the store does it say store credit only I have returned an item there and gotten my money back before. If you want to deal with a store that will change the rules to benefit them when they want to then the store might be for you. But for us hard-working honest people I recommend you stay away. Never in my life have I had to give a bad review to a pet store. They definitely lost my business for life as well as my friends and family. There is a much better pet store a quarter-mile west on Florence Avenue on the southside I recommend you go there for any of your animals needs and avoid this place at all cost. read more

This place is awesome! My dog looks so cute so happy with the outcome. We took Oliver to Petco thinking that because it was a well known place they would do a good job (wrong!). **DISAPPOINTING** I guess I should have read the reviews, especially the one regarding the kittens starving and eating there own poop!! , I happen to purchase a kitten about 2 weeks ago, little Freddy is what we called him, from the time we got him hone he was sick with diarrhea and would not stop crying, we took him back and the owner or husband of the owner said he just needs some medicine, ok no charge, still days later Freddy is still pooping all over and crying this horrible cry, so we take him back, they agree to keep him, but not return the money $170 after the food they made me purchase!! They said I should of taken him to vet to get later saying they sold me sick kitten, what sense did that make if I did that I would still be out of the vet money!!! This place is horrible, I had to tell my grandkids Freddy was so sick we couldn't keep him!! BUYERS BEWARE!! read more

If i could give this place a negative it will DEFINITELY be a NEGATIVE. The guy that groomed him his first words were " YOUR FUCKEN DOG BIT ME" he was extremely rude ! I can only imagine what my poor little pup went through he gets so scared when they even try to touch near his face he either begins to shiver or tends to bite now. He came out bleeding from both edges of his ear, near his tail he no longer has hair AT ALL , and he over-cut his nails as well having him bleed all over me. I WILL NEVER BRING MY DOG BACK HERE AGAIN. And PLEASE i suggest for anyone to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE not bring you pup here. read more

I have seen them multiple times walking each of the dogs outside one at a time and really taking care of them. One girl, she pets and plays with the dogs. They look happy. I can tell the employees love the animals and treat them nicely. This is so important. That's the first thing I'd look for: do the employees and owner love animals or not? I would trust a place that love animals. There's also Miguel who is like one of the owners and he's very friendly. All the staff I talked to there were all nice and friendly. read more

Used to come here a lot, but it has gone downhill. I brought my poodle here a couple times for grooming. The first time was reasonable but the second time they came out and took her from me with a metal choke collar to take her to the grooming area. This made me feel uneasy, my dog is small and has a generally good disposition. When I came to pick her up they charged me 80 bucks instead of the usual 40, quoting me for 'bad behavior'. Sorry Pets and Grooming, I think this bad behavior was caused by how you treated my pet. We also turned in a bunch of freshwater tropical fish when we were downsizing our freshwater tank. We brought them in a bucket and when the guy was putting them in the tank, he spilled them all over the floor. Not a big deal, things happen. It was his non-urgent reaction that set me off. If my husband and I hadn't been standing there watching he seemed like he would have just swept them up and thrown them in the trash. I like to give good reviews but in this case I can't! I don't see the passion for pets here. read more

This review is based solely on the pet store part of the business, not the grooming as I have never used their grooming services. We ordered food at a neighboring store and decided to check out the pet store while we waited for our order. We're in the process of looking to adopt another dog, so we've recently been to a few local pet shops that offer adoptions and thought we would check this one out. They had two cages up against the store front window, one stacked on top of the other. The top cage had a pomeranian. The puppy looked happy enough, that is until it started eating from the pile of poop in the corner. And it was definitely poop, the smell was putrid. Below that cage were three maltese/poodle mix puppies sleeping cuddled together. Their cage looked clean enough, but that's when I realized that the bottom of the cage was a the wire cage itself over a pan-type thing. I've heard of this being done before because it makes it easier to keep the cage clean since the droppings fall through the wire cage bottom on to the pan, but I can only imagine how uncomfortable walking on that wire must be on their tiny paws :/ We walked through the store to the bunny and hamster area. The water dishes were full of the cage bedding. So much so that it looked like a bowl of mush, not water. Granted, it was the end of the day so maybe they had fresh water in the morning, but I still think the cages should have been maintained throughout the day. That was enough for us to get out of there. We won't be returning, and I'd warn anyone tempted to buy pets from here to think twice and really look at the environment the animals are in before purchasing. read more

Do not give this place any business. Decided to take a look inside and the very first thing that hits you is the heat, this place is a literal oven! Felt like I couldn't breathe while walking around, I can't even imagine what the animals were feeling like. Walking through I notice the large rats were hyperventilating probably due to the fact that there was no airflow whatsoever. I take a look at the birds and rabbits and same thing, they were all hyperventilating. Some of the birds didn't even have any water and if they did it wasn't clean. This place is heavily mistreating the animals by not taking proper care of them, take your business elsewhere please. read more
