Brought my Australian Shepard here a couple times now and we've always been happy with the end results. The only reason I'm leaving this review is because the last visit resulted in my dog needing to go to the vet due to getting a hot spot post service which ultimately cost much more than the grooming itself. I messaged Allie & Paws to inform them of what had occurred during their services in hopes to help prevent any future occurrences with other's pets. Ok so this is my 5 th time going to Allie and paws. Today I went to their location on Paramount in Downey. I took my Pomeranian and Presa Canario to them . I've also taken my Cane Corso and they are excellent with all the dogs and keep exactly how to handle them . I have to say they have excellent service . My dogs love going to them and feel comfortable and calm by how they're handled . They do it all and my doggies look Amazing and it's a pleasant experience for them . When I arrived they didn't ask for my dogs name so I didn't give it to them just to see How it would all turn out it turned out fine. However last Thursday I took my dog in and when I picked him up he was sprayed with perfume head/neck area. By Saturday he had horrible burns and scabs forming in that area. I took him back to show them what had happened the guy said it was the perfume & had happened to other dogs. No apology nothing , also if they know the perfume is so harsh why use it. This is a Fantastic Groomer! The place is small, but has compassion. I was looking for a grommer with experience with Doberman Pincher's. Miguel was and is the man! He treated my girl Oil with kit gloves, and great care. Although I was a walkin, he was able to squeeze her in and had her sprakling, shinny and ever so soft with the esences of a clean smelling dog. Not to mention the watermelon neckcheif she was given. The price's are very resonable for the extra care given. I will be coming back again, only this time with an appointment so Miguel and his crew can do their magic on my pup without the stress of a walkin. I got a quote through yelp for the grooming. Place was clean, staff friendly and prices reasonable. They had a chart for cut coat length which is fabulous so you know exactly how much will be taken off. Only issue is it was cash only,wish they had more options cause cash isn't always at hand( Venmo, Zelle, credit card) . I would recommend and bring the girls back. read more

My youngest fur baby had been struggling with separation anxiety and nonstop barking during drop-offs, and I couldn't figure out what had changed. Today, I dropped him off for a full-service groom and picked him up without a single bark. This is exactly what he needed! Good vibes. Decided to give this spot a try given the reviews. However, after inquiring over a quote for my dog he noted to charge between $65-$75 and if I took her on Wednesday she would receive a $15 discount. Given the discount I decided to book her for Wednesday but upon completion of work he said he would charge $90!?!? For a bath but given the discount would charge $75. Mind you the quote was before I advised I'd take her on a Wednesday and for a bath, $90?! Pretty insane work if you'd ask me. And given that, my dog only last a couple of days feeling clean and she's an indoor dog so normally she feels clean for quite a while. But felt this was dishonest work and won't bring her back. They hate water and I was afraid I would injure myself at home bathing them. They have collectively had 3 baths in their lives. We used this company for the first time this year to bathe and groom our Border Collie puppy. 1) The bathing and grooming itself, which included nail trim, and anal gland expression, was done well. Our puppy looked and smelled really good afterward. 2) The price was good. 3) However, scheduling and communication with the owner and the actual groomer was very confusing and poor. We called to schedule a grooming and we're told that we would receive a return call or text to confirm a same-day appointment. However, the woman (turns out the owner) could not give us an estimate over the phone, even though we described our dog in great detail and even sent a photo of him. She seemed very confused about what a Border Collie even looks like, again, despite receiving a photo of his whole body. She initially quoted a really high price, and then withdrew it, saying that she would give us an estimate when we arrived. We then waited hours for her to confirm an appointment time. This was on a Saturday. I texted her back a few times asking for her to confirm a time but she delayed this repeatedly. We didn't wanna go back to Petco after having a bad experience there so I tried to give this business a chance. She did finally confirm an appointment pretty late in the evening. When I arrived with my puppy, the facility looked kind of like a warehouse with some grooming tables scattered about. it was empty. I wanted to speak to the groomer in detail about what was going to be done (again because we had had a bad experience at Petco) but he could not speak English at all. He spoke to the owner on the phone to verify the details of what services were to be done, and the price they quoted was pretty reasonable, so I trusted my puppy with him and hoped for the best. When I came back for him a couple hours later, I was let in by the groomer. He said he was finished but still had my puppy on the grooming table with his neck attached to that noose like thing that those tables have so that the dog can't move without hanging himself. I stood around, but he didn't take any steps to unfasten my dog so that he could come to me. Finally, I had to ask him to please unfasten my dog and let him down from the table, which he did. However, I couldn't discuss how the visit went with the groomer because, again, he couldn't speak any English. Not even a little. The owner was there to accept payment and I learned then that she is totally new to the business of grooming and is actually a hairdresser or something? This is why she didn't really know anything about dog breeds and could not give me an estimate over the phone. She seemed nice and friendly, but I don't think we will be going back. The process of scheduling an appointment was too confusing and I didn't like not being able to discuss the visit or anything with the groomer. The owner also not being very knowledgeable about dogs or grooming was concerning. Communication was really lacking and made the entire experience uncomfortable, which is not really what you want when it comes to the safety and comfort of your pet. read more

Save your money but most importantly TIME, waited over 4 hours for my dog because they blame the other dogs for moving too much, than continued to say I should've made an appointment when I DID do an appointment, communication and time efficiency doesn't exist here.
