I am pleased with Petro propane and service. Recently Petro technician, Jose, came to check my Petro propane tanks, pipes, boiler and Generac under Petro service contracts. Jose upgraded fittings and installed control valves to make my propane delivery safe and reliable. The work was done deliberately but quickly. Jose worked efficiently and pleasantly. He filled me with confidence by kindly explained what he was doing and showed me all work successfully passed all tests and metrics. I hope Jose does all service for my house. read more

THE PETRO SAGA CONTINUES...... I wrote a very very negative review about our propane and oil fiascos, before I had my new propane company set the tank and hook us up. Know that we have been without propane for a week and a half. PETRO ran a test on our system to check for a leak, and told me we had no leak. Meanwhile I thought we had to have a leak because the amount of propane we just received on April 10 was the amount we use in about 18+ months. BUT NO LEAK ACCORDING TO PETRO! Well when the new company ran the test, they found a leak..... go figure! So we were left by PETRO, vulnerable, with a leak in the system so propane pouring into the universe that we had to pay for, not to MENTION THE SAFETY RISK! So PETRO is now two for two in failures of inspection of equipment, INSPECTION of equipment! HOW SAFE WOULD THAT MAKE ANYONE FEEL? Plus they wanted to bill me for their mistakes and WRONG INFORMATION. NOW May I give accolades to TAMMY C. and KRISTIN P. Both in customer service and both extremely polite, caring and helpful. Dave tech 479 and Jesus tech 458 are both great guys. Very honest and knowledgeable techs. However, I couldn't say the same about the admin part of this company. The office people are very disorganized and are very bad at communication. I've had petro for years and it's always been that. The boots on the ground guys and the techs have been good over the years and I would like to give this a 5 star but I can't. The admin/billing/office people just suck. read more

Jose Pellecer came to our house because we ran out of propane. He did a full safety check and fixed our setup which had not been set up correctly in the past. I was very impressed because he didn't cut any corners. He did everything that was needed to fix our setup including changing out some of the connections and moving the tank. He also gave us several gallons of propane to get us until the next day when the truck could fill us up. After he set us up outside he came in the house and checked all of our appliances that use propane to make sure they are okay. Like I said I was very impressed with Jose. He's a very nice guy. Obviously knows what he's doing. And does the work that is needed. I would recommend him to anybody. And whoever his boss is should give him a raise! :) read more

Pedro accidentally tried to deliver oil to my house--I changed it to gas when I bought it a year ago. Fuel oil spilled in my basement and my whole house smells horribly of the oil. They cleaned up the oil but it didn't help. I went to work and everyone could smell it on my clothing. I have to sleep with my bedroom window open in December. One small "air scrubber " is doing nothing. No call for follow up, and you can't call directly to the office. I'm not the kind of person who goes right to suing, but I should be sleeping in a hotel until this is resolved, and they should pay for the cleaning of my drapes, quilts, clothing, and professional cleaning of my sofa when this is resolved. read more

Terrible experience...here is the letter of complaint I'm submitting. Management/Human Resources: This is a letter of complaint regarding services NOT rendered by your technician. I am a retired teacher, realtor, and property investor. I own 17 properties with three being multi-units which total 20 doors. Why am I telling you this? Because with all of my dealings with utilities companies, the water district, and the different municipalities; I cannot think of a more egregious experience than the one I had with your company. Absolutely awful. First, I called and spoke to a representative named Jermaine. I set up service and arranged for an after-hours visit at my newly acquired property. LISTEN TO THE CALL. I was told that there would be an after hours fee of $149 plus the price of the oil. I verified this information before hanging up. LISTEN TO THE CALL. I was also told that the technician would be at the property between 3:00 p.m, and 6:00 p.m. At 1:00 p.m, I received a call and the technician said he was at the property. I told him that I was told from 3-6; he commented that his paperwork said from 1-4. I had to leave my 89 year old aunt in the middle of her physical therapy to rush over. When I got to the property, the technician was sitting in his van. I waved for him to come and get started and he said that I needed to sign off on the charges first. I said, "No problem, they told me about the after hours charge." He said that it was going to be around $400. I was shocked. I informed him of what I was told on the phone by Jermaine. His response was, "Those people don't know what they're talking about. I wish they wouldn't quote you anything over the phone." I called the Petro number and got another representative on the phone. Nadine. I told Nadine what was happening and she said, "If he's assessed the situation and thinks that you need the parts and service..." I informed Nadine that he had not assessed anything. He had not gotten out of his van and he had not looked at the oil tank or anything else. Nadine said that I would not be charged for those other items, and to move forward. When I hung up the phone, the technician asked what she said, and I told him. His reply: "Those people don't know what they're talking about. It's going to be $545, and I'm not doing anything before you sign off on the charges." You record all calls, so I suggest you listen to my calls. I then called my contractor. The technician explained all these different possible scenarios and why I was being charged $545. The contractor said that he couldn't understand charges for parts etc, when Chris had not gotten out of his van to verify that any of those things were actually needed. After standing in the street, in 35 degree temperature, with no resolution in sight, I told the technician to have a nice day and I left. To sum it up: I was told by two representatives what I would be charged. Your technician was refusing to do what was requested unless I signed off on $545 in charges. $545 for 20 gallons of oil. Apparently this technician shows up when he wants to, charges what he wants to; and he firmly believes that "you people" don't know what you're talking about. I called the main number again and spoke to a representative named Joey. Joey said that the behavior of the technician was inconsistent with your policies etc... In my opinion, your technician had no intention of getting out of that van to provide oil unless he was going to make an excessive amount of money in doing so. A disable woman is without heat in below 35 degree temperatures because your technician attempted to EXTORT maximum fees for services. read more

Petro has been my oil provider for years now. We purchased a new oil tank and oil hot water heater and now two new heat pumps. The service has always been outstanding. A tech , Robby Thames, just installed the heat sensor to finish the job. we mentioned that the filters that were originally sent out were the wrong size. He returned within an hour with the right filters and did our furnace tune up. We are set for the Winter. Excellent service. Thanks Petro read more

They keep billing you with an old credit card and won't use the updated one. They do not answer the phone. They do not return calls Keep adding penalty fees. Avoid this company like the plague They say the old computer does not talk to the new computer. The new card shows on my profile, but they won't use it. They assure me it's fixed, then get hit with a delinquent call and more penalties. read more

Do not sign a contract or oil delivery agreement with them. We got locked in for our oil budget yet the price still fluctuates higher 3 or 4 cents every time. For one or 2 months our due date is the 7th then it's the 4th or it's due immediately. We are ahead on our budget by about $300 dollars so we are not behind. Service contract is $150 something then i get another charge of $53 we question it and they reply,oh that's incase something goes wrong with your oil tank,It's BRAND NEW! They never disclosed that charge.I do not think they like when you're ahead on the budget. I have a pellet stove and they know this and don't think they like that because they can't deliver more oil. They were sure quick enough to knock on our front door when we moved in last August-2018. We thought we would stay with them because they installed the new boiler a few years ago for the previous owners. As soon as our contract is up we WILL find someone else. If i could give -5 stars i would. Also the service guy that came out was not personable what so ever. I wanted to ask him a few questions but got the feeling he didn't want to be bothered. I was in construction and service maintenance if we would have had that kind of attitude we would not have lasted very long. read more

I have been having an ongoing problem with auto-pay. Petro just would not update my new credit card info, and was rejecting payments. This was happening for well over a year and a half. Last night it happened again, and Petro would not accept my login (also an ongoing problem). The first lady I spoke to wanted an account number and hung up on me when I told her I did not have it handy. I called back and got Kevin. What a great experience I had with Kevin's help. He not only arranged for me to pay the bill, he also fixed my login problem. After we talked I received an email that he had straightened out my auto-pay and had arranged to have my credit card information updated. I was almost in shock that Kevin really went the extra mile to help me. I had over a year of no help at all. He is also arranging to have someone contact me to do preventive maintenance on our generator. I spoke to his supervisor about what a treasure this employee is, and she suggested I put something on Yelp. Here it is Kevin! Thank you so much for helping me. read more

I just purchased a new home and opened an account with Petro for the first time. I neglected to set it up until my oil ran out, so woke up to a freezing house on a Sunday morning in January. Customer service--while a little pushy about signing up for their annual service contract plan--was very personable and pleasant, and was able to get an emergency call out that day with enough fuel and a reset of the unit to get us through until the full delivery on the next business day. However, that fuel must have just run out before the delivery the next day, and since the delivery happened when no one was home, the house once again was 62 degrees. When I called, I was disappointed to find out that,--despite having purchased the $200/yr service plan (which I thought included emergency calls)--they wouldn't be able to send someone out to reset the furnace until the next day. Much to my surprise, I was woken by a knock on my door at midnight!! While I appreciate the fact that they apparently do 24/7 service calls, this would have been really nice to have a heads up on, rather than being told they weren't coming until tomorrow. I seriously had no idea if we were about to be robbed or if someone had been in a car accident! Needless to say, it took a while to go back to sleep. read more
