But I was pleasantly surprised to find a small, country mom-and-pop-style grocery store inside. Yes, there were the usual gas station sodas, beers, chips, snacks, ice, etc. But it was also a mini-supermarket with breads, dairy and cheeses, a few pre-packaged meats and cold-cuts, condiments and sauces, a small assortment of frozen foods, some jarred/canned/dry non-perishables, cleaning supplies, some pet foods, and some other household items and camping things. On this quick trip we snagged a bottle of lighter fluid (what we originally came in for), beer, soda, and I grabbed some cool campfire tablets that make your fire turn rainbow. B&D's was a fantastic find for our fam', as it is much closer to our camp property than going all the way to Albion or Medina to a full-sized grocery store for a few simple things. Sure, prices are a bit higher, but paying for the convenience of the location is worth it. The cashier was friendly, and the gas prices were reasonable too, in sync with the going rate anywhere else. I'm looking forward to popping in to B&D's again soon to explore their cute-kitschy shelves more, and grab whatever odds-and-ends we may need.

Thank goodness for this Petro-Canada. I pulled in and noticed how confused a female woman was on which side her gas cap was on. Sadly, she pulled in front of me and I couldn't pull through. Luckily, her husband did the filling-up task. I paid at the pump. I had no problem inserting my Petro-Points card, 407 ETR discount card, and my credit card. I filled up my tank and all was good. It wasn't all that busy when I got there. However, it was when I left at around 5 pm. Weird! Gas prices in Peterborough are significantly lower than those in the GTA. I filled up at 105.6 cents a litre. Back in the GTA, it was at 116.9 cents a litre. I lucked out. This gas station is roomy and clean. No complains here. (419)

When it comes to the price, the gas here is not too expensive. The shop they have here is also small, but nice. They have a variety of snacks including candy and energy bars. They also have cool drinks for sale. The staff member who worked here was also really nice and warmly greeted me. Also, the shop is connected with the Black Dog Restaurant. Altogether, this is a nice gas station with a nice shop and it is connected to a good restaurant!

I have no complaints beyond the incorrect hours and thank the management for resolving this issue. It's generally a very good convenience store and provides a decent mix of groceries and prepared foods.
