But I was pleasantly surprised to find a small, country mom-and-pop-style grocery store inside. Yes, there were the usual gas station sodas, beers, chips, snacks, ice, etc. But it was also a mini-supermarket with breads, dairy and cheeses, a few pre-packaged meats and cold-cuts, condiments and sauces, a small assortment of frozen foods, some jarred/canned/dry non-perishables, cleaning supplies, some pet foods, and some other household items and camping things. On this quick trip we snagged a bottle of lighter fluid (what we originally came in for), beer, soda, and I grabbed some cool campfire tablets that make your fire turn rainbow. B&D's was a fantastic find for our fam', as it is much closer to our camp property than going all the way to Albion or Medina to a full-sized grocery store for a few simple things. Sure, prices are a bit higher, but paying for the convenience of the location is worth it. The cashier was friendly, and the gas prices were reasonable too, in sync with the going rate anywhere else. I'm looking forward to popping in to B&D's again soon to explore their cute-kitschy shelves more, and grab whatever odds-and-ends we may need.

They've got what you need at the slightly elevated prices you'd expect for the convenience - gas, ice, s'mores supplies, candy, bread, milk, etc. There's a kitchen that is sometimes making pizza - though it didn't look open for that this July. They make good breakfast sandwiches - sausage & egg, bacon & egg, etc.

Wow! This bee has got me all a-buzz!…read more I'm not one to review convenience stores, as I find most of them are the same: overpriced, stale candy, lacking in customer service. However, Big Bee is none of those things, so it appears it's got me expanding my reviewing horizons! I popped by here on my way out of Niagara to grab a couple of drinks for the ride home and was pleasantly surprised! They have some awesome drink deals (2 for 1 priced energy drinks, 0.99 for Red Rain cans, just over a buck for Fiji water!), as well as a really nice variety of drinks! From obscure drinks, to generic pops, to a rainbow of energy drinks, to Faygo, this little Big Bee has it all. The candy prices aren't jacked up like many convenience stores either, and the Fuzzy Peaches we bought didn't taste like they had been sitting there for over a year, which is always a good thing :p I noticed Big Bee also has submarines and other assorted fresh items, but I didn't try any of them. Customer service was super warm and friendly. It's a little cramped inside, but cramped with sweets & goodness of that sort, so forgivable ;) Great place to pop by if you're looking to pick up some generic convenience store items. I am a fan!

It is nice to…read morehave a local option for fishing supplies and a limited selection of convenience store items, since there is not much shopping nearby otherwise. Plus Narby's is a gas station too, which is surely good for when you need one. We stopped in the Superette to check it out, and grabbed a couple candy bars. There is a small selection of groceries, beverages, and a few Point Breeze souvenir items like shirts and mugs. Prices are what you'd expect, a bit higher than a typical grocery store, since this is a small establishment out in the country. My husband went into the tackle shop to check it out, and ask a question about getting a replacement fishing license. It's nice to know this is here if you need to purchase or replace a license, but it was definitely a comedy-of-errors, discussing getting the replacement with the shop owners. In the end, after a comical back and forth, ("A fishing licence replacement." "You need a pistol license?" "No, fishing." "Okay, pistol." Bwhahaha), the hubbs got the information he needed. He said the tackle selection was decent for a small country store. We won't go out of our way to visit Narby's again, but if we are in Point Breeze and need one of their services, it is nice that it's there.

The place is fairly dated, but practical with lots of space. The 2 bartenders who also serve as waitresses were swamped. They are expected to do take out orders, in-house orders, drinks at the bar, and bringing food from the kitchen to tables simultaneously. I'm assuming they were understaffed. Service was slow, and we were fairly certain they lost our order for a while, because folks that came in after us were served first. Lots of take outs passed through, so again, I assume they were simply inundated with orders. Once we received our food, we were pleasantly surprised. The pizza was good (aside from my little pet peeve of cutting a round pizza into squares and triangles. Why?!?). I was raised Sicilian and I'm a crust snob. Their crust is flavorful, with a good texture and not too thick. Very nice. The hubs said the Turkey wrap was excellent, my and a friend's calzones were cooked beautifully (microwaving the sauce for 30 seconds instead of sending it out cold would have been nice), and my friend's BBQ boneless wings were SPECTACULAR. All-in-all it was a good experience. Everyone was friendly (even those poor waitresses), and when it slowed down a bit the cook came out to see if everything was okay. Good times all around!
