Bernardi's is that kind of place, a little unassuming gas station ("uhoh, GAS STATION PIZZA!") but they make unbelievably good food in the back restaurant. If you want uniformity, order from Domino's or Pizza Hut... ...but if you want consistency, Bernardi's pizza dough is incredible, the toppings are plenty and the price is reasonable. If you want to be a local this is one place you must eat. Subs, burgers, and pizza seem to be the most popular option. We have had both the subs and pizza and they were great. For the full Bernardi experience you need to dine in. There are only two tables so you may have to share. Most people seem to get take out for lunch but who ever walks in the door always seems to say hello. This is a real gem of a restaurant and it is worth a stop if you are in the area. Just to make it clear it is in the back of the gas station mini mart. Go in the side door near the gas pumps. Don't be shy, say hello ask what is good and enjoy what I consider a Niagara County Institution. To make a day of it, pick up subs here on your way out to the Alabama Swamps (Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge) to enjoy an afternoon of hiking. read more

I would order dinner consistently after 8pm and they have pulled back their hours due to the pandemic. Understandable. However I try to call earlier and earlier and the employees turn down orders. I called an hour and a half before closing to order 10 wings. They told me they are backed up. I very much doubt it. The food isn't that great but they were close. This is a hidden gem in the Lockport/Rapids area! We recently moved to Lockport and were disappointed with the lack of a good staple pizza and sub shop. One of my coworkers from Lockport suggested Bernardi's. I was confused... did he just tell me to go to the local gas station? YEP- he sure did. This place barely had a menu and is an actual hole in the wall in the back of the Rapid Mart gas station. HOWEVER, the food is amazing. I've had many chicken finger subs from here and they've all been fantastic. My husband often gets a Stinger or a chicken finger dinner and those have been great as well. We noticed that they recently increased their signage and added some paper menus and sub punch cards. This must mean they're doing pretty well! I hope Bernardi's is here to stay. I am writing a review because this place deserves one. This place might not look like it, but its a hidden jem. The pizza and wings are a fail-safe, and are never disappointing. Its my favorite place to get a fish fry hands down in the area. Its much better than many places i have gone in and sat down for dinner. Large portions. The subs are also very good. We have going here for over 10 years, and I will admit they have a good pizza and wings. However tonight we ordered subs. The chicken finger subs were spot on. The 1/2 of a turkey club had much to be desired! The sub missing one important ingredient, the TURKEY! When I called to complain they asked me to bring the sub back so they could add the turkey! Really, I replied! I demanded they replace the sub, so off we went on a 20 minute drive to get the correct sub. In the end they did ultimately replace it but not very willingly. I will definite consider other options for my food in the future. read more
