Produce is higher priced than other places, but since Wegman's sees Lockport as economically depressed ( I got this from a manager of a Wegman's) if you need to get all your shopping done in one trip without running all over Lockport, Tops is a decent grocery store. read more

Awful, awful, awful. I live in Newfane and cannot even shop here. Unless I need milk, eggs, or a rotten piece of fruit, I refuse to go there. I don't think there is one employee that cares if you ever come back or you can find what you need. God forbid if any of them have to interact with you at the self-checkout. And to say goodbye - hah! Will not return. What a joke. Just spent over $100 for like 3 things then the girl who was running self checkout who paid no attention to me at all while checking out decided to question if I paid for 1 of the 3 things I bought as I was trying to walk out of the store... ‍ If you were doing your job n paying attention to the self checkout instead of your cell phone and the other employees you would know ya I paid for all 3 of my items... this store really has gone downhill since covid. If u want to know if I paid pay attention don't hold me up after I took my time to check all my things out. Not to mention she can see it on the computer screen why are u asking me?? MOLDY PRODUCE every time I go in there. Last time I said something to the chick at the meat counter and she barely acknowledged me, so I went to the customer service desk. After talking to the manager who was professional I walked back to finish my shopping and as I walked back past the meat counter the same disgruntled frumpy b*** was talking to her co-workers like "yeah i've realized with customers like that you can never make them happy" I went up to her like "oh, so you're talking about me?" She looked like a cat that got caught with the canary and fumbled "uh uh no. I was talking about someone else." I played dumb like as though that was the case (lulz) I said, "either way, not very professional to talk about ANY customers" then I had to go back and discuss with manager. I told manager, it would be easier for me to NOT say anything, continue to buy my produce elsewhere. However on this particular day I wanted to let them know what the issue is which takes time out of my personal time. If I had an elderly loved one I would not let them shop here in case they missed seeing the mold. If I was the owner of this tops I would communicate to my staff that there time is better spent focusing on quality control versus complaining about the customers. read more

I go here all the time so I feel bad giving it 2 stars. All of the employees are extra nice and I'm sure they're trying hard to do their job properly. But this Tops just plain sucks. It would have 1 star but the niceness of employees earned them an extra star. The thing that makes me the angriest is the produce section. Most of the produce is rotten! And it makes NO sense because this Tops is located in a really rural, farming area. WHY ARE ALL THE FRUIT AND VEGETABLES ROTTEN IF THEY'RE GROWN RIGHT DOWN THE STREET? I understand that Tops doesn't actually buy their produce from down the street but COME ON. Then they have these BOGO deals on strawberries all the time... but it's not really BOGO if 50% of the strawberries are rotten in each container. Also, things are organized weirdly. I always have the hardest time finding things and I go here almost daily. Occasionally there will be lines SO long that you have to wait 20 minutes to be checked out - including self-check-out. Most of the time they only have 2 registers open and that's clearly not enough. Finally, some things are placed out of my reach and it's embarrassing to ask employees to reach them for me. That might be more my fault than theirs but please cater to my short height. read more

I have been shopping at this location for over a year now and in this time I have noticed a rapid decline in service. Perhaps it is grocery chains in this area? Perhaps it is me?!? I come here for convenience but it is not worth me coming in -to not be acknowledged by associates in the aisles while they are blocking products... -to be sighed at or told they don't work in this department when I ask for help in locating something, then ignore me instead of finding someone who does... -to watch two associates standing around and throwing things at each other at the deli counter ignoring the line of customers while one other associate is serving customers... -to have to wait in a long line line at the only open staffed checkout lane while they are held up looking for a price on something that isn't coded while there are managers/head cashiers in the office or wandering around... -to get the stink eye for bringing in my own bags... These used to be occasional occurrences that could be over looked but it is now becoming a ritual every time I go in (usually at least once a week for odds or ends) I am over it, there are other options that may not be as convenient or cheap but are certainly better experiences and quality. Corporate needs to come in and teach this store about customer service. Rant over!!w read more

Tops Markets # 38. I used to know the manager there but they shifted them all around and now I'm not sure who is running the place but it hasn't changed since I moved away 4 years ago. Still the same ol small town supermarket. The store is clean and if they don't carry something you want they are more than happy to order it for you with some advanced notice. I miss the small town grocery shopping charm where the manager calls you by name and suggests you get the "what evers" because he ordered them with you in mind. I don't do much shopping these days, a cookie over the sink is often called "dinner" ... work occupies most of my time. The last thing I want to do at night is cook but I wish there were more places around Charlotte like this one. For all you folks that do. You would like it. read more

This is a pretty decent Tops. Definitely old school, it is not set up like the others. Things are sort of randomly placed around, at least the frozen/cold items. But if you can read the signs, you can find what you need. Also, no self check outs here! So if you don't like interaction with store workers, you might want to skip this location :) Seems pretty clean and well kept up on, and I find myself venturing here when I want to avoid all the potholes and road work that lead me to the Tops in the other direction on Transit. read more

Been shopping here since the early 80`s when they were on the other side of the street. Service has gotten worse lately. 10 people with cartloads of groceries and only 2 registers open. Forget about the self-checkout unless you only have 1 item. The final straw was stopping there the other morning on my way to work when time was short. I had a list of items I needed that should have taken 10 minutes to get. Guess what? Some idiot decided to move all of the items in the store to different aisles. Wrong move. I could not find what I needed and the cashier said she did not know where anything was anymore either. Left emptyhanded. Stopped at a grocery store in Wilson on my way home from work and everything was in the same place it`s been for 20 years. If it aint broken dont fix it. I do not have time to play games trying to find where the heck they put my dogs food or where the gatorade is. Shop elsewhere. read more
