Holy glittering unicorns, Petrina is a goddess. I have been cutting my own long wavy hair for years because I'm busy and I hate spending money on hair, but Petrina turned me into a freaking fairy princess. I wear long braids almost every single day, because I'm an acupuncturist and I need to keep it out of the way, but also because it's kinda my thing. However, I want it to look nice when I wear it down, too. I asked Petrina if she could somehow come up with a cut that could work for both. And she did. I was so pleasantly surprised. My hair was so swingy and she cut is so it falls in the prettiest way, but I can somehow still braid it. Best hair cut ever. She's a hair witch, I tell you! Petrina is fantastic! I went in hoping for a new look after a haircut gone wrong at another salon. She gave me a fantastic cut and I got a million compliments. I really liked her work space, it was bright, airy and spotless. She was incredibly professional and made me feel immediately comfortable. I was so glad to find Petrina for my girls first haircut. She was super patient and chatted and joked around with my little girl. She was able to cut my girls hair, despite my 5 year old being all wiggles, when I apologized she replied with a smile and relaxed, "Oh it's ok, I've dealt with much worse." Ahahaha! It's time I updated this review and let everyone know how talented and professional Petrina is. I have a severe PPD allergy, what that means is that I am allergic to all permanent hair dye and I mean all. Facing the future with gray hair was not an option but neither was ending up in the hospital again. Petrina has performed a miracle. She figured how to blend together a mixture of semi permanent dyes that looks beautiful, my color is a deep chocolate brown with red hues. I get so many compliments on my hair, my dye lasts for 3 weeks, covers my grey. Her cuts are so good that I get compliments from other hair dressers. I've been seeing Petrina for haircuts for a few years now, and I can't believe I haven't reviewed her until now. She's the best! She always delivers consistently great haircuts even through the many different evolutions of hair styles that I have had. She even SAVED my butt once when I accidentally melted half my hair off with a hair product I'd gotten online. I went in to see her after the incident looking like a freak show! I thought that if she could at least get my hair to look like a normal person's that would be enough for me. However she exceeded all of my expectations and not only did I not look like a freak show after she was done with my hair, but it looked GOOD. I got compliments on that haircut all day long. I just got a haircut from her yesterday too. It took me about a half hour to realize it after I left her studio, but there were NO hair pieces anywhere on my neck or clothes or anywhere. It was like magical invisible fairies had been sweeping the hair away while she cut. And half my head is cut clipper short too! How did she do that?? I love getting my hair cut by Petrina. In fact I followed her from a salon on Tujunga Blvd. to her present location. She cuts my hard-to-cut-hair very well and when I "splurge" on color, she does a great job with that too. It always looks very natural. I found that in the past stylists always imposed "their" cut on me ( my hair is not easy to manage...somewhat thin, with a "mind" of its own).
