If you're looking for a place where the iPad presentation is adorable, the videos are heartwarming, and the reality requires a little more digging, welcome to the smoke-and-mirrors experience. What really bothered me is how much of the information you need to question! The information is sitting right in front of you. Take the breeder information displayed in the window and actually Google it. The results raise some very serious questions about the number of animals reportedly kept at these properties and documented violations. Look closely at the breeder names, too, and you may notice what appears to be the same last name associated with different first names. That raises an obvious question: are properties being divided on paper so more animals can be housed and sold? Here's another question I'd love to hear answered: When was the last time the owner personally visited these breeding properties? Because an iPad, a cute video, and a rehearsed explanation aren't exactly the same thing as independently inspecting the conditions where these puppies supposedly come from. Once is a visit to sign the contact to sell the dogs and the owner has never been back to those properties. And then there's the transportation. On what I was told is "puppy Wednesday," I observed cargo vans arriving out back. I was told that multiple puppies are transported together for extremely long periods, reportedly in crates intended for fewer animals. If that's accurate, the welfare implications are pretty disturbing. The store presents itself as high-end, but my experience left me questioning how thoroughly the breeders are actually vetted. There was also a ringworm outbreak that and was not denied by the employees, I personally encountered a couple with a puppy sold with active ringworm on financing. But had to sign an NDA (I didn't) And the warranties? Read them carefully. In my experience, with my let they felt considerably more protective of the business than the customer. More interested in letting you know they are a franchise and can do as they please. A warranty isn't particularly comforting if getting meaningful help when something goes wrong feels like trying to squeeze water out of a rock. All they do is ignore you and leave you to the wolves of Kanguroo To be clear: I'm not telling anyone that they should or shouldn't spend their money on a pet. I'm telling you to do your homework before you do. Google the breeder information. Ask where the puppies actually came from. Ask when the owner last personally inspected the breeding facilities. Ask how the puppies are transported and for how long. Ask what happens if your puppy arrives sick. Then read the warranty. not the sales pitch. See how rude and disrespectful the manager becomes when you raise these little flags. Because when the answers don't match the adorable iPad presentation, that's when the cute puppy-store aesthetic starts looking a lot more like smoke and mirrors. Big scam, stay away, there is no such thing as puppy inflation pricing. Just price gouging. read more

Was assisted by Nicole, everything was great until she stopped letting us play with the puppies due to her "commission". She completely lost out on a sale due to judging us instead of truly assisting us and letting us play with the dogs to feel out which puppy was right for us. My husband really wanted to play with the bull mastiff and so did I, but Nicole lost a sale for saying "if it was a dog that we were willing to take home today, then she'd allow us to play with him, but if it was just for a "play date" then she'd prefer to let the puppy rest" You should wait to discuss commissions with your fellow staff on your own time and not in ears reach of your guests, I found this to be unprofessional and rude. How are you going to make a sale without allowing us to get a feel of the puppies? Lost a sale Nicole, have better customer service next time! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE. We were helped by Anthony which his customer service was not the greatest. He looked rushed and I felt like we were bothering him every time we wanted to see a puppy. This place only sees you as a dollar sign. They treat back staff like dogs and treat them with no respect which was very harsh for me to witness. We bought a Dachshund here and Mr Anthony the day of us signing up for the credit card told us that the credit card was 6 months interest free if we pay on time. Welp they just started charging us interest after our 3rd payment. Called the store and all Anthony could say was " I can't remember talk to my manager " We have all the receipts Anthony. Keep in mind these guys will do anything to sell you a puppy. Leaving a bad review does not do its justice. If not resolved we will be taking legal action. They also go by DREAMTAILS HENDERSON !!! Never seen a business with more 1 stars in my life. Do yourself a favor AND DONT COME TO THIS PLACE AT ALL. read more

I couldn't be happier with my experience at Petland! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and truly caring. You can tell right away how much love and attention they give to their dogs--their pups are healthy, playful, and so well-socialized. I purchased my sweet doggy from Petland, and he has brought nothing but joy into my life. He's happy, energetic, and has the most wonderful temperament. It's obvious he came from an environment where he was well taken care of and loved. I've seen some negative reviews out there, but my experience couldn't be further from that. Everyone at Petland went above and beyond to answer my questions, make sure I had everything I needed, and ensure that my pup was the perfect match for me. The manager/owner takes such pride in taking good care of these pups, making sure they are well taken care of , and their priority is that the animals are healthy and happy , and finds the perfect home : If you're looking for a new furry family member, I highly recommend Petland. They treat their dogs with kindness and respect, and it shows in how happy and healthy the pets are. Thank you, Petland, for giving me my best friend! read more

Seemed very judgy and profiling kind of vibe. I was looking for a new cat to welcome to my home but first they told me I could go in to pet them after cleaning but once they began cleaning they said I couldn't because of the vacuum. But they knew the vacuum would be in use the first time they said yes? Point is the whole place is off and the pets are overpriced. read more

I've bought 2 puppies from here. Yesterday when I was interested in possibly buying a 3rd they were rude. This has happen to me before. I always think it's because they're having a bad day. They act like they have high quality dogs but they don't both of the puppies I've bought here got really sick and my Pomeranian stays sick. The puppy for lifetime warranty won't even be enough to get me a puppy if something were to happen to my girl. At this point they're just scamming people with the warranty and overpricing their dogs My dog came home scared of the world like this place abused her and plenty of puppies from here are so sacred I wonder why. I recommend people going across the street to buy a decent pure bred puppy. The way they care for their animals and treat customers is bad. Think very hard about it buying and supporting this business. read more

Playing with the puppies was a great experience to handle different types of dog breeds in one setting. The puppies were well displayed, cared for, and all on a routine play and eating schedule. The store reps are all knowledgeable in the different dog breeds and shares insight into how the puppies are bred, tested, and fielded to be brought into their stores. The pricing of the puppies are fair, they come with a store warranty, and are required for them to get health insurance. The warranty covers unexpected illnesses, death, and anything not the result of actions on the owners part. They replace the dog if the puppy passes. The honest truth is you pay all costs out of pocket and Kanguroo reimburses you. The loan financing option was fast and the apr was a low rate. The puppy comes with a whole health folder filled with their medical records, a recommended veterinary clinic, and behavioral lessons. The puppy comes with a whole crate, 3 month supply of dry and wet food, puppy pads, supplements: a multivitamin, peanut butter probiotic, meal mixers, potty spray, potty cleaner, hip and joint power. The puppies are setup with Highland Animal Clinic in Henderson. Petland covers the cost of the spay/neuter without having to pay up front. read more

So I would never buy puppies from here because of their ridiculous prices! Not to mention they look all inbred with bad coats, hazy eyes and just its sad. The little show box where some large breeds are so squished in them. I saw a dachshund in the window I saw the price! $5,545 something dollars!! Let me tell you I have got a tiny under 5lb pom from a breeder in Fenton ca she was $2k with a vet full check up. I had a dachshund a mini with a beautiful black tan coat she was from Manteca CA ground hounds she was $580 again vet check up first shot puppy guarantee health! Where do they get these ridiclous prices from!!! There probaly puppy brokers aka if the puppy is left over from the puppy mill they'll give them to a broker for half so example puppy id is $2,000 at puppy mill for shitzu they let it go for $800-$1000 to pet store because it didn't sell and the rest of the money puppy stores profit off them! Thats a lot of profit too much! By the looks at the reviews there all sick?! read more

My puppy is precious but their so-called puppy warranty doesn't cover anything. My puppy had diarrhea when he left the store. He had to have subcutaneous fluids and nutrical so he would eat. They refused to reimburse me for that. They also haven't reimbursed me for the antibiotics and probiotics he had to have because he had parasites when he left the store. Their puppy guarantee is BS too because they don't reimburse you for the medical expenses if the puppy has a congenital defect. They will give you a store credit for another puppy. That isn't a guarantee! They don't tell you any of that until AFTER you made the purchase. They go over pages and pages of crap with you. I love my puppy and I'm insuring him through another insurance company that is more ethical and honors their coverage. Kanguro insurance is a rip-off!!!! read more

Here's my very honest review for this location in particular.. Upon walking in, the first thing I noticed were several dogs that appeared to be in a "deep sleep" but were very clearly lethargic. When I asked a sales lady what was going on with them, her response was "oh they're just tired they've been out a lot today"... Do with that information what you will. Next, they didn't have many dogs to choose from (less than 20, around 5-10 that seemed in OK health) but me and my husband did look at a couple and every single one of them was either too hyper or very nippy. And I personally wasn't settling for anything less than a very well tempered dog, especially with a budget of $4k. One I took interest in was a long haired apple head chihuahua that turned out to be $6900. I'm sorry, but providing the breeders information and location the dog came from simply cannot justify that price. Please make it make sense. Everything about this place just feels so off because the prices are undeniably unrealistic and many (as in most) of the dogs were clearly sick in some way. Some people have had good experiences with this place and I love that for them, but just know you will not be spending less than $6k and your options will be very limited. Don't come in here looking for a pom or a yorkie because you won't find it, and if you do you will easily be spending $10k for it. Trust me when I say, save your time, money, and gas and look into reputable breeders and purchase directly through them. I would not recommend this place. read more

I really enjoyed going here and meeting the store bird, Redd, who is a 3 year old scarlet macaw. The store was very clean and the staff was very friendly. Don't go there for any serious pet supplies. There's only betta fish, none of the fish meds I was in need of and very few cat toys. I think the focus of the store is more about selling animals (puppies, a kitten, cockatiels, conures, hamsters, bettas, ferrets, a few lizards and guinea pigs. My favorite part was holding the macaw and getting to pet it. read more

I can't really say anything bad about this place, but then again - I didn't purchase anything from here, my friends' and i just stopped in to play with some puppies before we went to Walmart. We walked in and there was already a handful of people inside also inquiring about puppies and playing with them in the little closed section areas where they allow the dogs to play freely. You basically walk-in and ask one of the workers to bring the puppy of choice that you want to play with. There's no time limit or payment required to play with the cute puppies, so if you're ever looking for something to do and kill time come in and play with some cute puppies, that you probably can't afford - lol, that's what we did. The cutest puppy that I loved was $3200; cute golden doodle... LOVE! I guess the only downfall about this place is the smell when you walk in. It's a strong vomit/poop/urine smell which smacks you in the face as soon as you walk in. So if you're sensitive to smell, watch out! *wink. read more

These people sell sick dogs. I bought a puppy not knowing this stores reputation. They showed me all the paperwork how she was in perfect health...... I took her to the vet the next day. She has a disease that affects her knee caps where they float around she also tested positive for a fecal matter disease that is transferable to humans and I have been dealing with that since the day I got her and it has not gone away even taking her to another vet And many rounds of treatment she was to be my emotional support animal I am so disgusted shame on you Petland you are horrible awful people and deserve to be shut down it's bad enough that you could buy animals that are treated so horribly but that she would also trick people. We purchased a cute, little puppy recently and they couldn't be bothered by our questions. They promised things and didn't follow through such as; reimbursement for initial vaccinations, they do not take our calls, they lied and said they weren't there when I know for a fact they were. Hannah and Vanessa were so rude and we would have just walked out but we really wanted the puppy. We paid over $2,000 for this puppy and we couldn't even get professional service. I don't know who owns this place but I would seriously look into making major changes if you want to stay in business. Worst pet store I have been to. But again, we fell in love with the puppy and thought that maybe if they treat humans this way, how do they treat their animals. read more

We bought our precious puppy from here. We are usually pretty hesitant to buy from puppy stores, but our puppy was healthy with no issues. But theor puppies come from licensed breeders, the puppies are microchiped, and you can tell the animals are loved and cared for. The prices at a little high, but it include a voucher to neuter your pet, first initial vet check up, and lots of goodies to bring puppy home. We swing by every month to buy puppy food and little things for the puppy, and the staff here remember us and always always about our puppy. Thank you for introducing us to our newest family member! read more

I have purchased a total of five dogs from Petland and two Guinea pigs. All of my experiences have been wonderful from start to finish. Sort by Lowest reviews and see how the reviews speak for themselves in terms of dog sicknesses, birth defects, congenital effects that show up later, etc. --from supposed trustworthy breeders! But unfortunately, Henderson along with the city of Las Vegas where the other PetLand is, don't even fall under the new pet shop ordinance--only unincorporated Vegas! I found this out when I went in for treats (for my FULLBRED Pomeranian RESCUE pup) and tried to ask about it in a nice way. They weren't friendly even though I started off with asking for the treat brand bc that's why I was there--and then I saw the puppies! I'm all for extremely minimal responsible AKC breeders in some places but not for pet shops in a city like Vegas INUNDATED with dogs and cats in need of homes, some of which are lost or abandoned from pet shops after not being chipped and or fixed. Bought a mini golden doodle from here. She has Giardia and is currently on her SECOND round of treatment. I wish I read the reviews before and went to an actual breeder. I looked up the breeder and couldn't really find anything on him other than articles of petland in another state and possible puppy mill association. I've been taking her to the vet they have the warranty through and seems like they have a big issue with selling dogs with giardia because right away they stated we should do a fecal sample "especially if we purchased from petland" and sure enough it came back positive. I'm just glad I saved this baby from there but wouldn't recommend buying from them. Research a good breeder that cares for the pups because trust me it'll be so much better and cheaper!!! read more

Made an appointment.. How/Hoe whatever the manager name is ...rude as hell in an empty store. If you don't know how to identify a military ID say that and ask for state ID. It's that simple ...not look at folks sideways and be rude. All the dogs look sad and the store stinks so why would I spend 3000 in here?? We were having a great time and the lady with red hair was very very helpful. I think the manager, black lady with short hair, needs to work on her customer service. She was rude to my family and other customers inside the shop. I would not recommend buying a pet from petland Henderson. I bought a puppy on 1/6/21. From day one of bringing him home he has had watery poop and lethargic. He drank so much water and pooped 8-12 times a day. After 3 vet visits finally diagnosed with severe Giardia and Coccidia. The vet said it's one of the worst they ever seen. My family and I are doing what we can to get him better but he is now on 4 medications. When I contacted petland they didn't have any response except for call their insurance company. On top of the fact that the puppy was seriously overpriced I probably saved his little life by taking him out of there. Please read these reviews and don't purchase from them. Side-note they try to get you to take your puppy to a vet they have a contract with. I think its a scam as I took my pup there and they said he was fine even though I told them his symptoms and they allegedly ran test 2 days after I got him, so glad I took him to another vet for a 2nd opinion. read more

Immediately upon entering we were greeted right away. Came here looking for a certain dog food which they did not carry cause they didn't have many options to choose from. One of the young ladies there helped us decide on a brand that was grain free and had small pieces for our senior dog. After grabbing the dog food I had to resist the urge to pet one of the few dogs in store for sale that were just too adorable. There were also a couple of birds and ferrets. I always love coming to Petland. The employees are helpful, friendly, and always have a smile on their faces. And the puppies! Can't forget about those adorable faces. Check 'em out. read more

Stopped here last night just to visit these babies because I'd been feeling kind of down. Well, in a way, it worked. Because now I am so fired up. I was just getting my cuteness fix looking at the the poor little imprisoned puppies because I happened to be passing by. Well an employee there was returning a Cocker Spaniel baby to its cel. I won't mention her name but it rhymes with Anna and starts with an H. Anyway she so forcefully tosses (throws? Shoves? Catapults?) this poor thing into the kennel just beneath a puppy I was admiring that the little darling bangs it's snout/face on the front glass. Hard...and quite loudly. Now i get that not all among us are blessed with unfailing grace and we all are capable of an "oh shit" moment here and there. But Anna with an H doesn't even acknowledge her behavior and doesn't even look at the pup. No remorse or guilt whatsoever. This is despicable behavior from this bully and I had to think long and hard before deciding what I was going to do. My first and most pervasive idea was to wait it out until she was done working at which time she would become the cocker spaniel and I would become Anna with an H only much more sinister and immeasurably more aggressive. I'd like her to see what it's like having her face bounce off some glass. I eventually realize that authorities tend to frown on such vigilante justice and called the corporate office instead. Bottom line? Please don't buy your animals from these terrible puppy mills and if you run into Anna with an H poke her in the eye. I took a pic of the victim and notice the crate and how there's no possible way this puppy could've slid or slipped into the glass read more

Bought a lively miniature Schnauzer here. Excellent service. Nice people. Great puppy.

This was such a pleasant experience. Thanks. I can't explain how hard it was to put my 16 year-old Lhasa Apso down on Monday.
