So my Mum works near this tucked-away shop of delights, and I really wish she'd retire because restraint isn't my forte and she pretty much keeps them in business. My Mum doesn't like to cook, and Petite Treats is her saviour. Their delicious savoury selection includes gourmet quiches, pies, and tarts and they're all beautifully rustic and homemade. Quiche, I can resist. Their gorgeous pastel petit-fours, however, I can't. Or their retro jars of sweets. Or their chocolates, tarts, cakes, fruit pies and basically anything else inside their door. I think I have a pavlovian response to the bell that jingles when you open Petite Treats's door because I always go a little manic in there.
Petite Treats has a homely, village feel and their goods all have the taste to match. If you want to invite guests for lunch and impress them with your amazing home cooking and culinary prowess, just buy a quiche from Petite Treats and say you made it. Not...that I've ever done that or anything. Petite Treats gets really into holidays and occasions like Easter, Valentine's Day, and Christmas so if you're looking for some sweet gifts to celebrate you'll find something unique in here.
Ooh, and their packets of tiny strawberry meringues! Once I bought a packet to take to a friend's baby shower (it's a girl!) and ate the whole thing the day before (it's a pig!) and had to go back and buy another packet.
Petite Treats are doing their best to ensure that their customers don't stay petite for long! read more
