Possibly the best bakery on Brisbane's south side. I don't know about you but French + bakery = joygasm. Banneton ticks all the boxes that I look for in a bakery - Array of sweet & savouries that look so tasty that I don't care if I gain 100kg if I eat them all? Check. They do DECENT bagels? Check. Their crossaints make so happy I kinda wanna cry? Check. Lovely people behind counter? Check. Coffee of a consistent and tasty nature? Check Banneton is the place to go if you are seeking bakery good of any kind, great for weekend breakfasts/brunches/lunches. Only downsides are the minimal parking - you can however park on the street and cause it's small if it's busy you may not be able to eat in, but takeaway is always an option. DO IT.

The best..no comparison in Brisbane if you are looking for bread for your business or at home..this is pretty hard to beat.i have been going here for five years now after doing a taste test with a rival baker..Levain..this leaves Levain products for dead. ..great counter staff at Balaclava St. and at Kelvin Grove Markets on a Saturday. .try a pie fresh from the oven on a cold day....heaven..another massive plus is you can chat to the baker and he is glad to discuss any issues you have and put you in the right direction...you can also phone order and they will keep your order until you can make it there which is a bonus at holiday times when time is tight and the bakery is very busy. i think that's enough...go and try the shop and have something amazing with coffee!!

Yummy scrummy!!! Discovered this gorgeous bakery/cafe when I had to drop my darling dog across the road at the Greencross Vet. Ordered a toasted ham and cheese crossiant and it exceeded all of my expectations. The ham was hand cut leg ham and extremely tasty. The exterior was crunchy and the inside gooey. Perfect. There was an extensive array of gorgeous patisserie items in their display cabinet, as well as delectable looking bagels and rolls filled with all sorts of goodies. Coffee was nice too! Happy customer :)

Stopped here for breakfast on our way to the Gold Coast. Place did not disappoint. 1st, service was excellent. The workers really seemed to appreciate and want to accommodate their customers. Few places in the U.S. have service like this. We ordered several items, including the multigrain loaf, frittata, blueberry Danish, sausage and fennel roll, and pesto salami sandwich. All were excellent.

Had reminded the staff twice about not receiving my drink. After waiting half an hour and everyone at my table having finished their own drink and food, I noticed my drink sitting at the bar. Waited five minutes and watching a wait staff glance at the receipt and decide to take another drink across the other side of the bar. Having waited long enough, and as a young woman being concerned about my drink sitting there unattended with other patrons standing around it I went and grabbed it. I checked the receipt and confirmed it was mine before taking it. When I sat down, the security guy literally tried to wrestle my drink out of my hand, putting his dirty fingers all around the rim. The bar tender came over and started yelling at me. I told them that the receipt showed it was my drink and I had waited so long for it. They responded that they knew it was my drink - then why are you trying to take it off me? I told them my concern about wait time and they just laughed at me and told me that that's just how things are and that I can't just go and grab my own drink. Utter rubbish I've been to many bars and restaurants in Brisbane and have never received such slow and disrespectful service. We had kids sitting at the table and were there for a birthday. To have two fully grown men stand over me, trying to intimidate and belittle me is just sickening. Complained to management and no apology given. They had the audacity to complain about my partner's tone, despite him being calm and much more respectful than the treatment they were giving us. As to the food, it's just a glorified pub. I recommend going elsewhere such as Massimo or Ola. You will receive quality food and staff who actually appreciate your business.

They were super friendly and let you enjoy the space and your company. They serve you water as soon as you are seated and then ask you what you'd like. I had the Lucy while my friend had the Coffee Ale. The sizes come in Pony, Mare, or Stallion! My friend loved the coffee ale. I'm not the biggest beer fan but the Lucy was light. We started to chit-chat with the bartenders and they showed us this chili vodka! He had me at "Chili..." My friend had the Bloody Mary and she kept raving how it was tomato soup for adults. She loved it! The bartender was great and nervous about creating a drink for me. We went with a pineapple chili vodka with a touch of mint. Yum! It needs some fine tuning but the foundation is set. We were having a great time and as if beer to vodka wasn't enough, we moved right along to tequila! Yes, some quality tequila and verdita. I'm a huge fan and they explained to us how quality tequila is for sipping. We didn't want to leave but the time had come. Thankfully, I know I'll be coming back very soon. Thanks for a great Introduction.

I went there with friends for a 10am breakfast on a Saturday morning. We had a reservation and they…read moresat us at a big wooden communal table with big heavy wooden stools. Bit hard to get up on but I loved the table and it was comfortable once I was finally seated properly lol. Service was good but I saw the waitress' friendly face change a bit when I asked to cancel my iced latte and change it to a hot soy latte and my friend asked to have his iced latte changed to iced soy latte. The order hasn't even been fully confirmed yet and the paper wasn't given to the chef so I don't know why it would be a problem. But anyways she put on a smile, said thanks and hurried away. Few minutes later, another girl came to take our food orders and I asked for eggs benedict and if I could have extra hollandaise sauce with it. She said no problem and went off with our orders. Food came about 15 mins later, I liked it. But the poached eggs were undercooked. It was literally leaking water onto the sourdough toast. And another thing, I just think, personally, that there should be two slices of toast if it's thinly sliced. My own preference perhaps? So we finished our meals and had to go settle the bill in person at the counter as they don't print out bills (?). Fair enough but if we want to look at the bill first before going up there to pay and possibly holding up the line if we're looking at the charges more closely, they don't give you that chance. What are we supposed to do if there's a group and with multiple orders? Stand there checking over the bill and have people wait behind us for their turn? Anyways, it turns out the extra hollandaise I asked for in my benedict? Well, they charged me $3 for it. A side blob of hollandaise for $3??! Firstly, the waitress did NOT tell me there was an extra charge and secondly, again with the argument that you have to settle the bill on the spot which doesn't give you much time to look over the charges till after you've paid for it. So, overall, it was a beautiful venue with wonderful views of the water, situated near the story bridge. Food was good. Service was average.
