He gave me a detailed cost estimate before he even left the house. The next day, he worked a 10+ hr day and completed the project. He communicated clearly with me about the extent of the work; he told me when to expect him at the house; and he gave me project updates along the way. Based on my experience with other concrete contractors in the area, Jamie's rates are very reasonable. In the end I was happy with the repaired floor. We liked the idea of working with a family business. My husband commented to Tony, "I know you are going to take care of my place like it was yours". Tony nodded agreement. I can tell you, Tony is a man of his word. He is also a perfectionist and a master craftsman. We gave him a sketch of our plan for the yard. He transformed it beyond our imaginations. I was looking to stop the erosion. He went above and beyond, increasing our usable space an amazing amount. He selected budget friendly materials with a stunning result. His high standards shine thru in his crew's work ethic and attention to detail. Tony's crew arrived at 7 am on the scheduled start day and worked past 4:30. His crew WORKED. Multiple neighbors commented on how hard-working they were. I marveled as they brushed and leveled EACH block..and there were a lot of blocks. Guys on the crew noticed our uneven railroad tie steps. They were not in our contract, but they guys took it upon themselves to level the steps. They even reused a railroad tie from another part of the property. Perfectionism and going above and beyond seems to be part of the Maineway Landscaping & Excavation culture. Tony estimated the job would take 2 weeks. It was completed in 8 days. They took a job they probably should not have taken which ultimately ended in a missed inspection and the City taking responsibility for fixing the issue. When requesting to speak to the owner he had his office manager call me back and instead of owning the mistake they blamed the designer, the city, and me for not having an inspection done before buying our home. They've avoided contact with me in regards to the service they provided. A company should take ownership and accountability for their errors. Even though the city made it right they should have taken accountability for something as serious as installing a septic tank backwards and not kicking the v can down the road. The owner should have the gumption to speak to clients who they've wronged instead of having his office manager and wife blame everyone else in a snarky and condescending tone. I wouldn't hire them for any work if they can't stand behind their services.

We discussed what I wanted done today, gave me a quote and got right to work. I decided to have the immediate leak fixed but we talked about what he would like to do to update the antique plumbing attached to a very old double cellar sink and fixtures. He updated the washing machine plumbing and he said he would send me an estimate for the rest of the work which I would love to have updated. I loved what he did and what he would like to see updated. He was done quicker than I expected and I said I would let him know about the further updating of demo of sink etc. He was wonderful and he made me feel like he really cared about what I was dealing with health wise with the old plumbing. He's a great guy and I will call him when I am ready to finish the entire job but for today I love what we did and his work! I was super pleased!!!

Needed my septic and pump station cleaned out today as I had a pump failure. I called Ben for a drainage issue, and he was able to come out the same day, which I appreciated. During the visit, he checked the cleanouts and plunged every drain in my house and garage. He did not run a sewer snake or inspect the plumbing vent, yet after about 30 minutes he told me everything looked okay and charged $150. The very next day I messaged him because the problem had not improved. My toilet was still gurgling to the point that water would burp back up and splash onto the floor. He told me it was probably a venting issue, despite never inspecting the vent during his visit (I have video footage of the inspection). Since the issue persisted, I contacted the town the following week to inspect the sewer connection. They found a significant blockage at the connection between my sewer line and the town's main (photo attached). I'm glad I sought a second opinion, because the actual problem was never identified during the initial visit. I also never received any follow-up after reporting that the issue remained unresolved. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this plumber for diagnosing sewer or drainage problems.
