They need to really check their rescue people. We wanted to adopt from Barbie Ferro in NJ and East Texas. She brought us 2 very skinny puppies with worms and wouldn't let us bring them to the vet. Then took them from us over a month later under false pretence. At that point, we had already dewormed them and they both were an awesome weight. They weren't the amasiated puppies we had gotten in the beginning. We also had them trained to go outside, walk on a leash and sit & stay. She is discussing and shouldn't be rescuing any animals. She admitted to my husband and I that she usually forgot to feed them or only fed them once a day. Discussing!

The store was clean, well organized and had a lot of services available. There was the standard treats, toys, food and accessories, but there was also a self serve pet washing area, and a pet play area/ training area. Unfortunately, someone was training while we were there, but from what it looks like, when there isn't a training session you can let your dog into the area for a but. We ended up buying some treats and toys for our dog after walking around the store a couple times and letting him sniff around. The staff was friendly and it was a nice way to kill some time while we waited for an appointment.

My dog had diarrhea and vomiting all night after ingesting the collagen with beef jerky in it. I tried returning the remaining 3 of this product that made my dog sick. Told by another sales associate to get something else as exchange. I chose a product that was safe for my dog but this was $6.99 and the ones I was returning was$ 8.99. I was returning 3 and replacing with 3 that was less amount. Sales person and her supervisor, L said I would only get 32 cents back. Sales person said I can get a 4th one free. I said I wanted to an exchange and didn't want the 4th one. L said it's not the company's responsibility that my dog got sick on their product but it was my fault to give it to my dog. I asked to speak to a manager. L said that her manager, D was at the other location and I should go there to speak to him. When I asked when he will be at the location that I was having the issue then she said it's company policy that she cannot give out his schedule. She shoved back the 3 products that I was trying to return and slapped a customer service information card on the counter and told me to handle the matter with them. I told her to process the return and got $21 plus some cents back which is what my original intention was before getting talked into doing an exchange. I spoke to manager D and he immediately told me that L is one of his best employees. Later he did say he will talk to her about customer service. He said it's company policy that they cannot do a prorated exchange on the buy 3 get one free promotion. Beware about the fine print that they don't tell you about "the exchange " transaction on the buy 3 and get one free business. The company is not responsible if your dog gets sick on their product because every dog is different and it's your responsibility for giving it to your dog (even though they highly recommend this product) said by L. I do not recommend this company anymore. I was the Danville,CA location on Crow Canyon Road

After checking in, we were brought back and the doctor came in within minutes. Unfortunately, his bedside manner was extremely cold and non-empathetic from the start. He attempted an ultrasound and immediately told us our dog needed surgery that same day or his bladder could burst and he could die -- but then said they were not equipped to perform the surgery. The only other option he presented was euthanasia. Our dog is only two years old, and the way this was delivered was very blunt and alarming, with no compassion or reassurance. At one point, he even commented that these dogs are "cute but very expensive" and that we should be prepared, which felt insensitive given the situation. He provided an estimate for surgery but still said he couldn't perform it and couldn't guarantee availability for Monday. He also gave us pricing for euthanasia. The entire interaction lasted about 10 minutes and left me feeling overwhelmed and distressed. That said, the front desk staff completely changed the experience. As I walked out visibly upset, Arianna and the other team members immediately stepped in with kindness and empathy. They took the time to talk with me, provided helpful information, and referred us to another hospital that might be able to help at a lower cost. Their compassion truly made a difference in a very difficult moment. If you're looking for empathetic bedside manner from a veterinarian, I would suggest looking elsewhere. The doctor was disappointing, but the staff deserves recognition for their care and support

I take him to Ocean Ave Vet Hospital and in TWO HOURS not 25 hours later, TWO HOURS, they tell me he has a pancreatitis. How sway? The fact is they looked at me and assumed I couldn't afford the blood work needed to help my cat and would rather have him die than do their jobs! This is not the first time they have done this. In fact, when he had a medical emergency they told me that he couldn't get a MRI to look at his brain bc he has seizures. His seizures put him at risk and it's probably nothing! A couple of months later when I brought my cat back the ER doctor said he was going to have to sedate him. I told him not to bc of what the last SPCA doctor said and he said that wasn't true. Then u see his breath said "probably thought you couldn't afford it." The SPCA

Always more of a dog person. But I was worried because of her age she might be on a shortlist for something trickier - especially after first coming to animal control and gaining 4 pounds. But we took to each other immediately. And she seemed to be one sweet healthy cat attached at the hip to me, attached to my people, and patient with dogs and cats in the house for sitting. Have been crushed since but thank you ASPCA tor everything. Even after years I together and tons of water bowlers, routine, cuddles, play time, and a two bedroom with a full kitchen, bathroom, and living room, a litter robot, cat trees and plenty's of scratchers, I discovered she had kidney disease (CkD) at age 18, she lasted another year.

They called her Luna but I changed her name because I never want her to be associated with that family ever. All ties must be severed. I still wonder if I should report them to animal control but let's be real, would anything be done? No, because it's rescues such as SPCA, Dancing Cat, and etc. worry about the health and well-being of the animal. An animal is not just an animal but it's a living and breathing thing that ought to be loved and cared for even if they are feral. Dancing Cat got her in here. In a week this sweet, shy, and affectionate girl was adopted. I was so happy and I still say my blessings prayers as I think about her every single day. Staff that checked us in was kind and patient. He allowed me to sit with her to help get her settled. I didn't want to leave her. Through tears as she watched me walk away, I can look back and accept that this was a great move for her. She now has a family all thanks to Dancing Cat and SF SPCA. I'm forever grateful!!!

I've been bringing my dog to this PetSmart location for over two years. This visit was a nightmare…read more My regular groomers -- including Ashanti, who was excellent -- were no longer there, and the staff wouldn't give me any information about when she'd be back. The entire grooming roster had turned over, with no way to evaluate anyone's experience, credentials, or how long they'd been working there. I had a bad experience with one new groomer previously (poor cut, left stray hairs everywhere), so I was already anxious picking someone unfamiliar again. I dropped my dog off like any other day and went to work. A few hours later, my phone was flooded with missed calls from PetSmart -- vague voicemails with no real information -- followed by a call from an emergency vet telling me my dog had been brought in. It turns out the groomer, Shannon, had cut her dewclaw so severely that it had to be surgically removed under sedation. PetSmart tried to frame it as a "slight cut," but you don't take a dog to an emergency vet for a minor nick. To their credit, they did cover all of the emergency vet costs -- which, while appreciated, also tells you everything about how serious the injury was. I spent hours not knowing what was happening to my dog. When I finally got her back, staff kept passing me off to different people, no one would give me straight answers, and they handed her back shaved down like it was just a normal pickup. It was traumatic for both of us. I'm sharing this because people deserve to know what can happen when there's no transparency around groomer credentials or experience. There should be a way to know who is working on your pet and what their qualifications are -- not just a list of names with nothing behind them. I don't know if I'll return, and I would strongly caution others to ask questions before leaving your pet in their care.
