History
Established in 2013.
I have been riding and racing bicycles for most of my life. After 10 years working as a mechanical engineer I took a job with a bicycle wheel manufacturer. I spent 6 years working for two different wheel companies learning the trade and enjoying the experience. I know that wheels can make a huge difference, whether by reducing the weight of your bicycle, improving aerodynamics, or holding up to punishing road or off road conditions. Each wheel I build is configured to meet the requirements of the customer and with the skill and knowledge I have of component selection and building requirements. The techniques I use in my wheel builds cannot be shown in a photo, but can be felt in their performance. When you buy custom wheels from Pete's Wheels they will not only be beautifully hand built wheels, they will be a pleasure to ride.
Meet the Business Owner: Peter P.
I have been riding and racing bicycles for most of my life. After 10 years working as a mechanical engineer I took a job with a bicycle wheel manufacturer. I spent 6 years working for two different wheel companies learning the trade and enjoying the experience. I entered the bicycle industry to combine my engineering skills with my passion for cycling. I began building wheels several years ago in order to find a balance between lightweight and durability. I found that the balance is dependent upon many variables. It is different for every rider and changes as new materials are developed. Reaching that balance has as much to do with the building process as it does with parts selection.I study the art and science of wheel building to build a strong reliable wheel with lightweight quality components. The techniques I use in my wheel builds cannot be shown in a photo, but can be felt in their performance. Cycling is an amazing activity and my wheels are built to be ridden.
