Would not have been a big deal but on our third try with Belli, they refused to go out and get the needed part. That's standard for a plumber. But suddenly they had a new policy that they would not make any purchases because supposedly another client was unhappy with a prior purchase. They refused to listen when I told them I didn't care what they purchased, and Chris never bothered to respond to my email. Needless to say, we immediately hired another plumber who came right out (after purchasing the part) and did a great job, and this was our last attempt to work with Belli.

Mark is very up to date, and he also works with his father who also has a solid experience in traditional techniques so together they are a great balance. They are always fair on pricing and willing to help out when you are really stuck, nobody likes a plumbing emergency! As for the other comment on here I felt that is really unfair, it has nothing to do with their trade and profession! I would hire them any day, he was probably in a rush to get to someone like me!

However, they are very expensive and push the boundaries of being honest and fair. We recently had a leak in our main drain pipe in the basement and called Papalia. They charge $99 for a consult, but it can be used towards repairs. They diagnosed the issue and then wrote up a proposal to fix it for $900. It sounded expensive, but we already paid the $99 and didn't want to start over again from scratch so we agreed. The plumber also misled us about how simple the fix actually was. It ended up taking him about 20 minutes to replace a 3-foot section of pipe with PVC. He also "forgot" about the $99 credit deal and tried to charge us $1000 and we had to call him on it before he would agree to honor the agreement. So they fixed the issue, the job seems to have been done well. But we way overpaid and every step of the interaction felt designed to mislead and extract as much money as possible from us. Not going to use them again in the future.

He had done other minor plumbing projects for us with which we were happy but this one did not work out as well. It became clear he did not have experience with this type of system and initially did not install the pipes to,the boiler correctly which became apparent after we finally consulted a " senior" plumber who advised him how to redo the piping. After the installation was correct 1/3 of the radiators in the house were not working which had been functional with the old boiler. He was unable to figure out why so we had to hire another company at several thousand dollar cost and it turned out that Andrew had not properly skimmed the oil out of the boiler used to attach some of the pipes which spread throughout the system and this oil clogged radiator steam traps which made the radiators nonfunctional. This added several thousand dollars extra cost and he did not respond to our request to discuss the findings of the senior plumber. He told us he has been in independent business for 5 years but clearly has not encountered all the problems one will find in old houses around this area and did not have the knowledge for this sort of job.

They sold their business and I am in the unfortunate position of finding a new plumber, so I called Foster Plumbing and Heating Inc. If you want to be scammed, call Eric Foster Plumbing and Heating. When I called them to make an appointment for routine maintenance of my year-and-a-half old AC, I was quoted a price of $225. Nothing was said about this being an hourly charge or about other charges. I have been having furnace and AC maintenance done for about 60 years and the charge for this work has been a flat fee. The work generally takes an hour or less. The only additional charge I have ever had o pay has been $10 for a filter if I did not supply my own. When I got a bill for $432, I was sure it was an error, so I called them to request a corrected bill. It was then that I was told that the $225 was an hourly fee. Since the technicians had not been at my home for more than an hour, the charge was still more than I had been quoted. I was then told that they had been working at my home for an hour and 15 minutes, so I was charged for an extra 15 minutes. However, Foster has a strange kind of math as they charged for a half hour for those 15 minutes. That would be $112.50 for that "extra" 15 minutes. Add to that the $94.50 which I was told covered the cost of the liquid used to clean the coils. Pretty expensive liquid, something I have never been charged for in the past!! I was also not told that there would be an additional charge when I made the appointment. I supplied my own filter. As an added "bonus", when I turned my shower on the next morning I was bombarded with ice cold water. Fortunately, I determined that the water heater temperature had been turned off by the technician and carelessly not turned back on. If it had been necessary to call Foster to solve this problem, I would have been billed another $225 or more. I am a senior citizen living on a fixed income, and I live alone. It is necessary for me to be able to hire reliable and honest workmen. Foster Plumbing and Heating certainly will not go on my list of honest and reliable workmen.

It was a gas hook up for a new stove - $150! Others wouldn't give an estimate but reportedly would be over $400. Good deal, good work, good people excellent experience!

Keith arrived on time and quickly determined that my regulator valve could be bad, causing excessive water pressure. He was very professional in explaining his reasoning and options for cost effective repair. I received a repair quote by text within minutes and he made the repair. The cost for parts and labor seemed fair to me. I was also given recommendations on additional repairs and improvements to my system. They were very willing to answer all my questions and stick around to make sure the system was running properly. I'll definitely give them a call for any future repairs in my home.
