Taylor was thankfully available when our tenant's tankless hot water heater failed a second time less than 7 months after it had been flushed. He analyzed the situation and recommended replacing it with a more reliable brand. What's more, his package included a 20 year maintenance program with annual flushing! That will insure that the warranty is kept intact for its full duration. Taylor came a week later and installed the high efficiency unit in a half day. Pleasure to work with him and he earned our trust. read more

They are amazing! Exceptional work, you can count on them to do a great job! Don't settle for cheap plumbers who do horrible work.

Our dishwasher died on a Sunday, and on Monday morning we called PPS. They were able to send someone out that day, which is almost unheard of these days. They sent James "Forrester" Holley who was prompt, took his time but worked efficiently, and fixed our dishwasher. Additionally, he cleaned up after he was done! Thank you, Forrester, for truly exemplary and quality workmanship and being a nice, communicative person. When we saw the bill, we were equally happy! No sticker shock whatsoever! Thank you, PPS and Forrester! The Sexton's from Novato, CA read more

We called Petersen Plumbing Services after our insurance company told us we needed a water shutoff device installed. Having moved into this 50-year-old house 2 years ago, we've discovered some unconventional pipe work on the property. Given this situation, it was completely understandable that we encountered many surprises along the way that extended timelines and increased costs--issues that neither we nor PPS could have anticipated. We'll provide a more detailed review of the work once everything has settled. What we want to highlight now are team members Forrester and Kyle. Throughout the entire process, they remained professional, courteous, and highly communicative. Whenever I reached out, they responded promptly by text or phone call, always taking time to clearly explain both the problem and proposed solution. Their excellent customer service made them true ambassadors for the company. read more

We called this company to come cap off a leaking ice machine line under our house. Cap off, not fix. We just wanted it removed before it caused more damage. First I was charged $450 just to go under the house. Then I was charged $1800 to cap off a line. I was worried about it causing damage so we moved forward. It only took them 40 min to the tune of $1800. I was shocked to say the least. I should have hired a regular plumber at an hourly rate. Even paying someone $1000 an hour would have saved me almost 50%. Bonus- the gentlemen who came out were very nice. But wow what a shocker. I take full responsibility as I did not do my research. These are service plumbers and they charge whatever they feel they can get away with. I feel extremely taken advantage of. Do yourself a favor and hire real plumbers who charge hourly. read more

Great local company! They were extremely responsive before, during, and most importantly after their work on my client's project. The work was done quickly, professionally and under budget. I would not hesitate to recommend these good folks for all your plumbing needs. read more

We wanted to support a locally owned company so made the switch to Petersen plumbing and are so happy that we did. The initial phone call with the owner was very friendly and he said they could fit us in last minute to get a new gasket on a leaky bathroom pipe. Kyle showed up just a couple of hours later and confirmed that we just needed a new gasket to stop the leak and graciously installed the new one within 10 minutes! We will definitely stick with Petersen moving forward as they were speedy, professional, and didn't price gauge us for a quick and easy job. read more

When a business asks you to post a review before they've even done the work that should have been a red flag. I feel this company ripped us off. They offered us a water shut-off they said cost $1,000 for $600 and after they left I found the same exact one on Amazon for $550. It also should have taken 2 hours for the work to be done and took four. I was not happy with this company. read more

I had three plumbing companies come to give me bids on replacing my 50 gal water heater. Peterson was the only one to charge to come look at the job. I agreed to this because I wanted to deal with a local company. They came to look at the work and did a lot of talking trying to sell me a warranty . They gave me non specific verbal estimates to do the work but never provided a written bid specifying the work they proposed to do. The other two plumbers did not charge and both provided a written bid specifying the work to be done and how much it would cost. I find Petersons approach unprofessional. Lonny Hill read more

I decided to change the faucets on a pedestal sink in the bathroom. I purchased all the new materials and started the work myself. I could not remove the old faucets due to lack of tools and skills so I called Petersen Plumbing as he is a local business. I agreed to a $185 call out charge and he arrived the next day. After looking at it and seeing that all the new equipment was already there he asked to start the next day. His price to remove the existing faucets and install new on my bathroom sink was $1600!! Labor only, no materials. After I got up from the floor (!) he said he could do it for $1100 with no warranty, which means the insurance if he makes a mistake is $500!! I gave him his call out fee and told him to leave my house. Unbelievable!! If he did not want the job, just say so. Don't waste your time with this guy. read more

My water heater pilot has been off/on for the last year. All I have ever done for a quick fix is light the pilot. However when the weather gets warmer, the pilot goes out more than usual. The other day, 3x's. I had to call Petersen to find a solution. He came out immediately, explained the possibilities of the problem. But because my water heater was so old and it could cost me more to fix, he suggested I replace it completely with a tankless. Something in the long haul, will save me more $, save me more water and overall more efficiency. He removed the old tank and replaced it with the tankless. I love the fact that I can have endless hot water too! Thank You again! read more

Unfortunately we had to change our review of Taylor Petersen based on our last interaction with him. Our pressure regulator valve gave out and he had to replace it and move it from a muddy hole on the curb to a more accessible location. He spent two days ( 6 hours, then 4 hours) doing this and it was a difficult dirty job. However it cost us $4200. That is a pretty spectacular hourly rate. Every plumber we spoke with said the exact job, digging mud and all, should have cost $1000 or less and in fact two of our neighbors in our condo unit had the exact same thing done for less. So when we lost our water pressure again only a few months later, we were floored and disappointed when he immediately said it must be a new problem and it would cost us another $249 for him to come check it out . He took no responsibility and gavve is a long sob story about how he has to charge that to put food on the table for his family. Well they must be eating filet mignon and caviar because we got a second opinion from a reputable plumber who said the valve was never properly set and fixed the problem for free. He also confirmed that the job should have cost more like $1000 max. Taylor was unfortunately rude and reluctant to come assess his own work which left a really sour taste in our mouths. He did some other things that were pretty slimy but will take too long to write about so I'll stop here. Very frustrating and costly to deal with. Addendum: Mr. Peterson just informed me that he is going to come after me for $500 for writing this review. read more

Punctual, reliable and responsive. These three characteristics barely cover the surface of this company. Petersen Plumbing not only fixed our sink and garbage disposal on such short notice, but they were incredibly knowledgeable and keen on educating us about preventing plumbing issues. The owner is reasonable, kind and understanding. The plumber who came to the home was incredibly friendly, professional and worked fast! Will ALWAYS recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reliable plumbing company. read more

Our family has a summer home in Sebastopol and for the past couple of years we have used Petersen Plumbing for all our plumbing related issues. Over the years, they have done a number of larger jobs for us including installing a tankless water heater, a steam unit and an outdoor shower. We have also used them for other smaller service needs as they have come up. All their work has been completed on time and at a fair price. We have had nothing but good experiences with this company. They are a friendly family owned business and they give honest advice and good prices! Taylor, the owner of the company started out in Mill Valley, but now has started servicing the Sebastopol area as well. I would highly recommend him! read more
