I am so glad we came here. We were staying at the Quest on Franklin, which was a healthy 10 minute walk away, but worth the early morning exercise to get to Peter Rabbit. The whole city was in a public holiday lock down. Nothing was open. But we wanted something more than a lobby coffee take away. After a bit of research, Peter Rabbit popped up. And when we got there, we were not disappointed. It was a slightly nippy public holiday Sunday and luckily for us, we checked in just in nick of time, as the crowds were being to swell behind us. Most were being told to wait, as all the tables were booked out. Peter Rabbit felt like an autumnal garden, with a slight fairytale vibe about it. Ceramic pots with geraniums in them, wooden steamer trucks on beds of mulch, outdoor couches and big umbrellas, silver birch trees and weeping willows...all added to this great charm. Our breakfast food hit the spot on every front...perfectly cooked, runny poached eggs and giant rashers of bacon on beautifully toasted sour dough bread. Nothing was left except for yellow mop up marks. And for me the great litmus test of a great breakfast is the coffee. The cappuccinos were excellent. I had two! Clearly the locals loved Peter Rabbit, judging by the streams of faces coming by. So a big thumbs on from our troop. I will be back! I really recommend this place, but don't chance a walk in unless you are really early. Book in advance. read more

We booked a table for 2 about 3-4 weeks ahead, which might be overkill, but it would be a good idea to show up with a reservation. I overhead the waiting list was over 90 min for Saturday 9am. we were seated right away, and after checking out the menu, ordered at the bar/register. Service took a little while, but we weren't in a rush, and spent about 1.5 hours here. The indoor seating is very cozy with country cottage type of decor. The outdoor garden is not covered but absolutely adorable. We were told the bloody lemon jug was supposed to be 4 glasses of cocktail, but it really was about 6-8 glasses. I was expecting a bloody Mary concoction, but it actually was more a peach lemonade. Delicious and refreshing nonetheless. I got the rabbit bowl, which was essentially a modified bibimbap. Very light and tasty, with a slight kick from the gochijang sauce. Absolutely perfect brunch meal. The others on the menu sounded very decadent and unique, so there is something for everyone for sure. read more

Very Poor experience on Valentine's Day. Me and my girlfriend were ignored few times by their staff member. We were waiting to be seated, instead of taking our name, she walked off. Then after we were served by another staff, and told us to wait for table becoming free, the staff then took a couple who came in way later then us to the table. When I confronted this staff member, she asked me to share 4 seat table with this couple. I was very unimpressed, this is COVID 19 time and restaurant should not allow as customers to share table, and it was obviously she just didn't want to serve us, clearly forgot about us and made up this excuse when I questioned. This kind of customer service should not be appreciated, I usually enjoy Peter rabbit, but I don't think this is worth for me to go back any more. Favorite brunch place we visited in Australia! Loved the hot chocolate and dirty chai served in huuge mugs. There was also a great menu selection of both decadent and healthier options. I enjoyed the rabbit bowl, which was a combination of tuna sashimi and other vegetables. Wonderfully plated / presented and delicious! So cute that they actually had rabbits in a cage! Ummmmm..... any restaurant or café that has real life bunnies available for pats wins for me. Automatic 5 stars. But, wait... there is so much more about Peter Rabbit than that. You crazy animal person, calm down! Peter Rabbit is just one of the cool things I love about Adelaide at the moment. It's a shipping container install just off Hindley Street. It doesn't really feel like it should be set up there. But, well worth the walk just past UniSA to check out if you are in the CBD. The set up is just so damn cool. I wish my garden looked this cool. They must have a partnership with the Flower Nook with a cute display on entry. Also, I love the ground/flooring on entry. It's grassed with concrete steps. The café itself is quite open and has a tree up the back next to the little Rabbit enclosure. You will notice a big long servery carved into the shipping container. There is a damn fine looking coffee machine and taps for sparkling or still water. Yup, just what every other café should have. The menu is real brunchy. Lot's of fab choices, but I had to go with the Brekkie Guacamole. Because Guacamole, ok?! Yup, it was great! The guac was a little on the sour side. Maybe a touch too much lemon juice. But, that is ok. Great bread, bacon and greens. Good portion size as well. Very happy! For those coffee lovers out there, you will enjoy the brew here. Light, nutty and tasty! Now... the moment you have been waiting for! BUNNIES! Yup, they are ridiculously cute and friendly. Little floppy ears and so soft. The staff are happy for you to give them a pat if you ask first. First impressions are very positive. This place looks very cool (with not a drop of "try hard"). It's a great mix of indoors and outdoors, with little in the way of barriers in between. The music (laid back funk perhaps?...or perhaps I'm too old to use the word funk credibly these days) adds to the atmosphere but isn't intrusive at all. The combustion heater is a very welcome feature on a cool autumn morning. The service is exemplary - warm, friendly and helpfully suggestive of options to complete the experience. I initially intended to stop in for a coffee to while away some time but was jovially encouraged to take a look at the options for something to graze on as I imbibed. The excellent light breakfast selection soon snagged me (oh, French Toast, how can I resist you, you temptress). Now to the food. Oh My God! The French Toast is ridiculous!! That is to say, ridiculously good! Perfectly poached apple, mascarpone and some sort of toffee brittle pieces sit atop a slice of heavenly French Toast. The combination of these elements is so well balanced as to almost bring a tear to my eye at first taste (an exaggeration of course, but only just). "Oh my god", I literally uttered to myself, trying not to look like something out of When Harry Met Sally (it's a thing - look it up). The immaculately prepared coffee (using high quality, local Paris Creek Organic milk I was very pleased to see) completes the experience and rounds out an extremely worthwhile visit to Adelaide's West End. read more

I've been wanting to visit this place for ages but the times are only opened during the weekdays, and doesn't open late at nights or the weekends. Finally we bunch of us headed their on a Friday night after 730pm and ordered drinks and a food platter. They didn't serve any other food besides the cheese platter, so slightly disappointed that I couldn't try their pies. I'll probably try to come back next time during a week day on my day off. :D Opening hours are: Mon-Thurs: 07:30 - 15:30 Fri: 07:30 - 22:00 So if you want to pet the rabbits, please ask staff first and they will happily assist this request. This place is really worth a visit, especially see the 2 cute rabbits in the pen in the back of the cafe. The lovely waitress, gave us some cut vegies so we could feed the rabbits and pet them. They were a bit frightened but calmed down once we started to feed them cut celery or cucumber. I ordered a pot of tea 'Golden Tip' a rare mystical white tea produced from the finest buds. It was light and smooth with a velvety flavour, sweet too. Thumbs up! Our group shared the 'picnic basket' as this was the food available at that time, it cost about $25 and out came a platter of cheeses, meats, crackers and cut veggies. Very healthy indeed. Thumbs up! This place also serves other things like fresh, organic dishes such as salads, tarts and sarnieteas, beers on tap or bottles, wine, coffees and juices too. They also serve a breakfast and lunch menu, so hopefully will come back to try this out. This little place is quite sweet and slightly magical. Stepping into the little garden seating area and inside I felt as though I were in a Beatrix potter book. I had the fruit ice tea and Ruben. The ice tea was truly something special served on a brass cup with a paper stripey straw. The apple slices floating really made the drink. The Ruben was scrumptious with slow cooked tender flavorful lean beef and delicious bread and Gruyere. Service with a smile. On a sad note one of their rabbits passed away from rabbit cancer. I think they are going to get another so the surviving one isn't so lonely. read more

Food was outstanding! My bf loved the homemade granola and coconut yogurt (even tho he doesn't like coconut). I had he rabbit bowl which I absolutely LOVED! The flavors of everything went well together and I was actually kinda shocked since you wouldn't think an Asian dish would be good at this type of restaurant. This was one of highlights of our stay in Adelaide! Went here after a park run. They were really busy, but we were able to get coffee from their takeaway coffee shop on the sidewalk. Coffee was great!!! It didn't take too long to get seated. We had to order from the counter and the food was brought out to us. I got the Avocado toast , which was really good! We also got the veggie toastie, fried eggs on toast and granola. Food was really good. This place had a great vibe and substantial outdoor seating! Would highly recommend this place! read more

Cute idea, and in a great location, but charging $8 for a small (below average) take-away iced coffee is not cool. Go to Cibo and get the same size iced coffee for $5.90. That one comes with Cibo coffee gelato and not some cheap icy stuff they have at Peter Rabbit... Also, some of the staff need to work on their attitude, because, nobody likes being served by people who don't understand that 'hello' and 'thank you' is basic customer service. Peter Rabbit is a very cool little joint sitting at the end of Hindley st. Full of plant life and bright colours, I checked this place out a few weeks ago with a mate of mine for lunch. The seating is mainly outside and includes a little hutch housing a pair of gorgeous rabbits (WHO ARE AVAILABLE FOR HOLDING!) The food is varied and changes often, all options are made from organic ingredients with many vegetarian and vegan options! I chose a gourmet chunky beef pie alongside an apple an walnut slaw, both were rich with flavour and fresh as ever. Places like these with fresh ingredients and daily made food are in danger of running out and on this occasion my first choice was unavailable which was disappointing, a busy place in the middle of the city should have better estimates - but all is forgiven when the second option is just as tasty! read more

This cafe is just so adorable!! Worth coming just for the rabbits in my opinion, but the food is super good too! So yes, let's start with the wow factor: Real. Live. Bunnies! You can go and watch these cute bundles of fur live their rabbity lives in their enclosure out the back, but you can also give them a pat - if you ask! The bunnies were having a break from humans when I went to Peter Rabbit, but I still got to spend time admiring how damn adorable they are! Oh yeah, this cafe also actually also serves food - forgot about that... Their menu isnt huge, but they DO offer all-day breakfast which is a huge winner for me! However I decided to opt instead for a piadini filled with prosciutto, caramelised onion and cheese - it was full of flavour and also surprisingly filling I thought the prices were decent as well. My piadini was $12, and it was plenty for a meal. My friend got a pulled-lamb and coleslaw burger, which was also $12 and looked pretty delicious. I didn't buy a drink so I can't say much about that. However, if you go up to the counter to get some water, you'll find that you can fill the bottle (yes, you fill it yourself) with either chilled or sparkling water, which I thought was a cool little addition, as usually you have to pay for sparkling. I also feel that this cafe is quite niche. Of course it feels a lot like many hipster cafes, but it also has a simple, grandma's-garden, comfortable feel about it. It's nice to walk in and have a break from the hustle-bustle, smells, sounds and business of the city, without having to leave the city! It isn't pretentious, but damn it is awesome. The set-up of the cafe is reminiscent on a garden patio. There's heaps of outdoor seating but also some indoor tables, chairs, benches and couches. Peter Rabbit in three words? Yum. Rabbits. Niche.
