Great neighborhood dive bar in midtown. We've only been here for happy hour. Nothing special, just cheap drinks with great service at the bar and from the waitress. I like a bar that keeps your mug filled! Good midtown location, close to GCT for the ride home. There's a lot of room and a pool table. This place is a total dive. It had the most random customers - some bridge and tunnel kids who looked 18 (but maybe I'm just getting old), some really tan old guys hitting on some breakdancing 30 ish chicks, and some older Irish guys who never got up from the bar. The kareoke going on at midnight on a Friday was terrible but hilarious. Drinks were average prices and the bartender was fast and friendly. Not a bad option in this neighborhood. read more

Great place to grab a few drinks. It gets full but not overly crowded. The crowd isn't bad (andd certainly not douchey like many other bars in the area). My girlfriend and I went to New York for her 30th birthday and as part of the specialness of the trip she scheduled herself a manicure and pedicure. I needed to kill an hour or two and noticed this place around the corner. It was a Wednesday afternoon around 2pm but there were a few guys bellied up to the bar when I came in. A rematch of an EPL game was on TV and they had some good beers on tap. Prices were reasonable for New York, but my rating comes from the experience. The bartender, Declan, was entertaining and friendly. He placed the appropriate amount of scorn and ridicule on his regulars and made small talk with myself and the other travelers who periodically wandered in. While I only spent a few hours there, I got the sense that it is a fairly authentic American Irish pub. I'll make a point to stop by on my next visit to New York. read more

Peter Dillon's is a classic Irish pub with an authentic Irish bartender will fill your draught beer till it overflows out of your glass. They also have a wall full of bottles of Jameson because the patrons of this bar will probably go through that much booze in one evening. The decor is very old NY and perfect to get out of the summer heat and relax. My favorite part of this place is that you can bring your own food in here. It's your typical after-work bar. It's really packed from 5 to about 7:30 (the happy hour stops at 7) and the crowd greatly disappears after that. And it's mostly old dudes in business suits hanging out. They have a pool table and it only costs $2 to play. But most of the people you'll be going against play at that bar every day, so expect to lose, unless you're really good. On Mondays, it's free to play though. And maybe it's just me, but the draft beers taste different every time i go. I got a Harp one time and it was good. The next time around, got the same thing, and it tasted nasty. I'm usually here on Thursdays and there was (or still is) the waitress Karen who is so friendly, so nice, and she actually remembers you the next time you come in, even though there are hundreds of other people at the bar. read more

Huge fan of this pub. I have been working down the block form Peter Dillons for about three years now and have to say I come here at least one every week. The location is great, being next to Grand Central and the 4 5 6 trains. There is no food service but they have a folder in which it displays all the food you are able to order in. From Chicken wings to meatball sandwiches. The decor is your classic pub decor, with a killer mural on one side of the wall. A lot of seating and it's very open and airy. Def not cramp and stuffy like you might find some pubs to be. The pool table is always fun when hanging out with friends. Go on Mondays because the pool table it open for free. Ton's of TVs to get your sports fix. The bartenders and great. I can just go on and on about this place. If you get the chance stop in for a happy hour. You won't be disappointed read more

Went here for my first legal drink, so bonus star for you, Peter Dillion's. Fair selection of beers, nice wooden decor, and fairly busy for a Tuesday night. I miss this place so much. In fact, I would go back to New York JUST to go back to Peter Dillons. My husband and I are huge fans of the casual dive, but this place is truly our Bartopia. This bar is only a couple blocks away from my office so I have stopped by here on more than one occasion for happy hour and it is always a good time. The drinks are cheap, the bartender is attentive and there is always a decent crowd. I definitely recommend it for happy hour. This is your average Irish pub style dive bar in midtown. Its not great, but its not bad. Drinks are really cheap, which is a plus, but as for variety, you wont get much. If you need a few drinks after work in midtown, it works. There are always better bars, but I guess you cant go wrong with this place if you are looking for a dive bar. read more

It's a great bar with a great atmosphere near Grand Central. It is a crowded place but we got here early enough to get seats before happy hour came about. There's a pool table which is a plus if you know how to play pool. Staff is very friendly and helpful also. I would recommend this bar especially since it is near Grand Central so it's in a great location. read more

This is an Irish style after-work bar, and a local for the mini-hotels nearby. Despite the sign in the window that promises Warm Beer, Bad Food, THERE IS NO FOOD! Half a block away, however, is a Qdoba. You can take out the food from there, and bring it in to P.D. The bar itself is a nice place, with a few too many TVs. Patrons at the bar are plenty friendly, and it's a good place to meet people. As for the tables, the waitress leaves early (about 10:30) and most of the drinkers do the same. read more

very clean and well organized, but never that busy. close to grand central, it's always nicely decorated for Christmas layout is a little strange with the bar on the west side and an island in the center of the room not far from the front door. seating on three sides of the island and a lot of open space. 12-14 comfy stools next to a nice wooden bar with a good sized rail and box footrest. wooden stools with back support. bar back isn't elaborate, but simple. shelves, hdtvs, & beer taps. great service, though again i've never been in dillon's when packed. food is average for bar food. good place to watch the big game. atmosphere is friendly & relaxed. read more

We went here on a Saturday night where the Karaoke was impressive! A constant lineup of uber talented singers kept us all entertained. Beers were reasonably priced. This place reminded me of a great go-to-dive-bar but New York and Irish inspired. Its got a pool table too so quater up, grab a pint and enjoy all the diversity crammed in to this awkwardly shaped pub. Was skeptical about this place when I first entered, but it ended up being such a great night! First I gotta give props to Greg and his brother John (bartenders), best in midtown! Served me and my best friend with nothing but great can't vibes, and smiles. Pub has great selection of draft, and cocktails as well. Atmosphere is pretty chill and casual and it does get packed around happy hour. Happy hour deals include 6$ pints and shots. Definitely my go to spot when I'm done with work midtown. read more

We went to this pub in the evening we got our first drinks nicely the first time round. When we wanted the next set of drinks another bar tender - bald Irish dude (or at least has an Irish accent) had joined the one that served us at first. This bar tender mostly ignored us and eventually after we got his attention and he came to our side, the first thing I said was thank you for coming to get our orders. He left right away, I suppose he didn't careless for our gratitude... very strange. We left after that as he was not going to serve us. Well, there you have it. I will not be returning to this pub and I would say stay away by all means. read more
