Ha! As a Swiss I basically live in the country of chocolate. I grew up in Switzerland and am a huge chocoholic who never stops exploring the world of this heavenly treat. Which is why I love to try chocolate even when I'm abroad.
As a half-dane I've tried the regular chocolates that you can buy in every store. Anthon Berg creates some really delicious combinations with marzipan and chocolate. And Denmark being the country with the best marzipan I've ever tried, this makes sense.
Peter Beier is a chocolatier in Copenhagen, and he also has a store at CPH, the airport of Copenhagen. When I passed by and saw the store, which is nicely designed, I just had to explore the products they sell. Everything looked pretty good, but especially the truffles with different kinds of beer caught my eye and attention.
That was the moment I couldn't resist and just had to get a tiny bag of chocolates. I got the ones with beer, with coco, sea salt, ginger and orange. All were really delicious, but although my tastebuds usually are really sensitive, the beer truffles were a bit disappointing. Not that they weren't tasty, but I had just expected more of them.
The prices are a bit steep, but Copenhagen is an expensive spot, especially at the airport. The young blonde lady behind the counter was extremely friendly and professional, thumbs up! Definitely worth a visit while at CPH! read more
