He said it didn't sound like anything he was familiar with. I also told him that another optometrist saw swelling in the back of one eye after she dilated it. He said he didn't see swelling or anything else wrong. He never dilated my eyes to look. He said it wasn't necessary because he uses a machine to take a picture, without dilation. Three eye surgeries later, my vision is still greatly reduced. An Opthomologist immediately saw that I had a torn retina and performed emergency surgery to prevent blindness (after she dilated my eyes to look.). I am leaving this review in hopes of saving others from having severe vision loss.

The lenses, or the surgery did not work. My Eyesight at all distances is blurry. I was told to go get glasses, and that might help a little. After having my eyes check for glasses the optometrist said, "The eye that still has the cataract is better with glasses than the eye with no cataract, the Odessey Lense, and glasses." The optometrist said the eye that had the surgery will never be corrected with glasses. At least I still have one good eye.

He did a thorough exam, identified the issue, and he was spot on. It cleared up soon after. Now I see him annually for an eye exam. Also, my friend saw him recently for cataract surgery. She said she was treated very well. Her surgery went fantastically, and she now has 20-/20 vision at age 71! I brought her to the surgery and to the after-care visit. Rather than helping me schedule an appointment or properly directing me to the appropriate provider, I was told to use over-the-counter artificial tears and warm compresses for another week and then schedule an appointment if I didn't improve. I had already explained that I was trying to be seen promptly and was on a time limit. I wasn't looking for an online diagnosis--I was looking for an actual medical evaluation from an eye-care professional. I understand that conservative treatment can be appropriate in some circumstances, but when someone is actively trying to get evaluated for a persistent eye issue, the response should be to help them access appropriate care, not simply tell them to wait another week. I ultimately chose to take my business and my eye care elsewhere.

Normally, I would not make a big deal out of an occasional extended wait time, but this has happened with this practice MANY times. Anything more than 15 minutes is just unacceptable. We DO have lives outside their practice. FYI, it was 10am by the time I was finished with my 5 minute, appointment.

She'll leave you standing there and not even acknowledge you for quite some time. (most people just need a little wave or eye contact to show that you know they're there. That's all I'm asking for). Dr. Depenbusch is fantastic, Austin is also great.! They explain everything in great detail and make sure you understand, provide you with options and listen to you! Everyone sufficient in their perspective positions. It is such a pleasure to arrive with no tension felt from a staff not getting along. We have witnessed unpleasant patients, but the front desk handled with such grace and was able to resolve efficiently and quickly. Unpleasant people can make a waiting room full of people uncomfortable. All we can say to the front desk is JOB WELL DONE! The doctor is not just professional and caring but we really believe he is about the best results possible for his patient. We never felt like the next number to be seen. Very grateful.
