First impressions are lasting ones. I was seen in a local Urgent Care for an eye problem with instructions to Follow up with an ophthalmologist . I walked into this Ahwatukee location yesterday and made my appointment in person. Afterward The experience bothered me so much I called this morning and cancelled the appointment I made. The gal that made my appointment acted hostile after I told her I wasn't comfortable discussing my problem in detail at the front desk in ear shot of the entire waiting room. (I had already given her the diagnosis)Her response was "do you want to go somewhere else ?" She was confrontational when there was no provocation. EVERYONE is entitled to their privacy. The disgruntled caustic employee is your business's first impression. I had no trouble finding another practice. read more

Easy to arrange appointments, terrific facility, agreeable décor, comfortable waiting areas, state-of-the-art equipment, comforting, accommodating and professional staff and extremely qualified doctors with more than excellent bedside manner. I've been going to Ophthalmic Surgeons & Physicians for a few years now and am completely happy with their excellent professionalism and especially their humble and comforting bedside manner. Especially my three primary doctors, Dr. Matsumoto, Dr. Pacquet and Dr. Remington, and the others on staff are half as excellent, expert and nice as they, it is no wonder this is such a great and extraordinary operation. They are an extremely well organized and service-oriented outfit offering a myriad of specialized eye care, more than four decades of existence, with expertise in Cataract surgery, Glaucoma care, Botox injections, upper and lower Blepharoplasty and optical services. For the past few years I have gone with confidence, have had all my questions answered, learned a great deal and have left with confidence that my issues are well attended to and to my satisfaction. I have experienced and confided with them general eye exams, cataract issue exams, retinal exams, eyeglass lens assessment, glaucoma testing, and pretty soon I will trust them with my cataracts! read more

Hello. My appointment was with Danielle Remington, OD. I waited for an hour, and the doctor did not show up. I left the place without seeing the doctor. This was my 3rd visit in 3 years, during which this occurred with doctor Remington being late. This happened at both the Sun Lakes and Ahwatukee locations. After over an hour waiting, she doesn't seem to care that I waited for over an hour. This is unacceptable for any establishment to do this to senior citizens. These doctors are not listening to patients' concerns, and most reviews are based on the fact that the doctors are being extremely late with seeing patients. Horrible service, and the doctor is living in a different world. read more

This practice is extremely difficult to teach by phone. The send text messages saying you owe money, yet never send a bill. The wait time is always 1-2 hours no matter when your apt is. While the care is excellent, when you finally reach the Dr, everything else is frustrating. I would not recommend this practice when there are many others to choose from. The billing is very frustrating and impossible to reach. I have Medicare and so far it has cost me $1000 out of pocket for my 2 cataract surgeries and bills are still coming.i had no idea it would be so expensive! read more

I just had a terrible experience trying to schedule an appointment to become a new patient with Dr. Camille Hylton. She was recommended to me by my optometrist since my current glaucoma specialiat is retiring and I need a new glaucoma specialist to take over my care. When I called, the gentleman who answered the phone was extremely rude and disrespectful from the outset. He said I need to make sure that they're in my network but when I asked if they accept Anthem BCBS he said that they accept them... so I don't know what the issue is. Additionally, he said that they need a referral but I've never run into referral issues since I have a PPO plan and he basically questioned if I was really a glaucoma patient. I told him I could have my current glaucoma drs office send over all my info proving I'm glaucoma patient. Then I started hearing him muttering under his breath "oh my god" and I'd had enough of his disrespect. He had a huge attitude towards me for no reason. As I was telling him this is not a good first impression of his office he hung up on me!! This office needs to train their staff in patient treatment and care. I would not recommend this office since they have extremely rude, disrespectful staff. If they're willing to treat new patients this way I can't imagine how current patients are treated by them. read more

I saw Dr. Grossman for a routine eye health exam as well as for dry eye problems. He is an excellent, professional and highly skilled doctor. He was attentive to my concerns and answered all of my questions. This was a very pleasant experience. The rest of the office staff was efficient and caring. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Grossman in particular. read more

Had an appt scheduled with Dr Grossman at 10:25 this morning at the Ahwatukee office. When I was signing in, I asked if the doctor was on time. I was told that there were FOUR patients ahead of me and the wait would be at least ONE HOUR AND FIFTEEN MINUTES!!! Does the practice think I have nothing better to do than wait? Needless to say I left and will reschedule. This is the SECOND TIME this has occurred at this practice. How to improve/remedy this situation?...hmmm...how about you pick up the phone to let me know how far behind the doctor is? I am so disgusted with this practice. Eye doctor (Opthalmic Specialists) I absolutely love Dr. Remington! She is so dedicated and really knowledgeable. I would recommend her to anyone. The technician who sets up and does the testing was great also. Unfortunately the office is under staffed and the wait time can run up to an hour after the scheduled appointment time. Yes, I am a fan. We've been coming to this office for a long time now (well, this one and their other one in Tempe). It's been a while since I did an update, but the only thing that has changed is the addition of another physician (Dr Lanzer). We had an urgent matter last fall, and ended up seeing her because she was the one available soonest. We were quite satisfied with the treatment received. This visit we both saw Dr Matsumoto. Full eye exam. Discussed floaters and optic migraines (yes, there is such a thing). Not rushed, covered everything imaginable. Plus my wife's eye is fully recovered (from the incident last fall). Drs Matsumoto and Konti, and now Lanzer, will continue to be our primary eye care physicians. We might go elsewhere for refractions, but when it comes to the medical health of our eyes this is the place. read more

Waited over an hour for appointment then talked to receptionist and she said there were people waiting ahead of me and didn't know how long it would be before I got in. I ended up leaving because I had somewhere else I had to be across town. Waiting to see if I get a refund for the appointment that never happened. I get it if you're running behind but the best thing to do would be to call or somehow let patients know so they can plan accordingly. read more

Although they are short staffed you are taken care of and I am going to add I was seen by Dr. Grossman whoes bedside manner is excellent. My evaluation showed dry eye causing most of my blurred vision, saved me money buy showing me the difference with upgrading my prescription or leaving it where it is, recommend eye drops and eye gel that you warm up to help produce what I need to see better. Office staff is very polite, helpful AMAZING and I HIGHLY recommend . keep up the fantastic job read more

Set the appointment up in January for this issue. Pleaded they call if they had any earlier appointments. Have received numerous texts this week an now they call to reschedule - I don't think so, how much worse can it be. It appears they are unable to handle the amount of business they have - I'm not sure it's safe to trust them with my care. read more

I have been a patient for a long time, but this is it for me. Had to have a procedure done on both eyes. My deductible was $210 for each eye. Had to go to a different facility in Scottsdale and made both payments there as requested. When I went for follow up in Phoenix office, I was asked to pay again. Show them proof of payment and was told all is good. The front desk person actually talked to someone in Scottsdale and told me they will take care of it. Now I am told I need to contact Scottsdale office, request refund and then pay Phoenix office. REDICULOS. Stay away from these morons. read more

A two plus hour wait in the lobby upon first visit. Seems this is the norm, but it''s not okay folks. Staff is pleasant,as they should be. Doctors are pleasant, answered my questions and were professional. Again, as they should be. But come on. A TWO HOUR wait to be seen for the first time. Folks, this alone is a problem. Staff needs to schedule accordingly. Personally, I would rather come in another day and NOT wait so d*** long. I mean seriously, unlike myself, some people have a life, jobs, children, bills to pay, other appointments. Oh, and that Phoenix magazine they have on display that touts this business as one of the best doctors in the Valley might want to edit their review to include something about 'such great docs in high demand means you're gonna have a long wait." I needed a new ophthalmologist and this is very close to my house. I made an appointment with Dr. Hylton. I arrived a few minutes early and had to fill out forms which they do not offer on line to fill out before the visit. Then I waited for 40 minutes and then they told me Dr Multi was running another 40 minutes late. Very inconsiderate not to tell us when we checked in. Several angry people left. When I finally got in, the tech did the preliminaries and then I had to wait for the doctor. I must say, Dr Hilton was wonderful. Exceeded my expectation persOnal care. There needed to be some clarification9n my prescriptions when I went to Costco. Neither the Costco tech nor I was able to get through... Several messages left and finally hours later a call was returned. I will probably give them another try since I like Dr Hilton so much, but their office staff could use considerable improvement. read more

I had a wonderful experience with the replacement lenses but not happy that up front payments of over $2,437.36 was not communicated up front. The surgical center wants payment up front and does not bill Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. Be aware and ask all questions about what your financial responsibility will be. The paperwork states it will be billed but it was not. read more

I was referred to Dr. Mansueto in this office in March 2023. The first available appointment was August 2023. It was rescheduled two days prior, due to an "urgent surgery," and rescheduled for December 2023. Her office left a message today, canceling my appointment - even though it is still three weeks away - as the doctor was going to be in surgery that day. Her office was not the slightest bit sympathetic, and could not explain why a doctor with standing appointments can simply disregard them, stating only that she deals with priorities as they arise. 4.5* Scott and my FIL see Dr. Matsumoto here and at his Tempe location: we are fans of everyone from FOH, to Techs, nurses for procedures, and of course the Dr. We haven't experienced long waits here, and they go out of their way to make sure Scott is comfortable during appointments. Dr. Matsumoto is such a pleasant and calming influence: whether draining fluid from my FILs Macular Degeneration affected eyes - not for the faint of heart to watch - or checking on the health of Scott's eyes due to uncontrolled high blood pressure, I'm confident in his ability and counsel. The Dr. and staff always thoroughly explain all procedures, expected outcomes, and possible side effects. An example of the Dr.'s dedication: after cataract surgery, my FIL was having enough discomfort that we took him to the ER to ensure it wasn't a complication; it was after midnight, and the Dr at Chandler Regional put in a call to Matsumoto with the caveat: "I'm sure we won't hear from him, but..." Within a few moments, she returned indeed having spoken to Dr. Matsumoto, with instructions to see him for an emergency appointment the next day. The only ding is Scott can't get a prescription for his eyeglasses here without paying extra, but that is an insurance snafu, so we just get the script at the Optician when he gets his annual new glasses. The practice performs cataract, glaucoma, and LASIK procedures also. I trust them with my loved ones eyesight. Big shout out to staff yesterday who moved us in and out quickly, since Scott wasn't feeling well, but made certain to thoroughly examine him. read more

My corneas were destroyed in a botched RK surgery in 1990 and since then I have struggled with countless procedures, implants, surgeries and corrective lenses. None of these measures gave me good eyesight and I suffered many difficulties and anxieties in life, due to my poor vision. Dr. Remington, a master in the field of contact lenses has returned my vision to me, that was taken 32 years ago. Dr. Remington suggested scleral contact lenses, very difficult to fit and use. I had tried them in the past, without success. She worked with me for several frustrating months, multiple fittings and my personal difficulties handling the lenses. She was always patient and encouraging with me and gave me the support I needed to finally master my new lenses. Today, I have crystal-clear vision and it's like I'm seeing the world for the first time. I can't thank Dr. Remington enough for the miracle of good eyesight that she has given me. Upon arriving you sign in, why bother? They took three walk ins before me anyway. I then went up to the desk to ask for my new patient paper work and was told to sit down and I would be called. As soon as I sat down I was called. Upon finishing and turning in the paper work I waited 35 minutes and asked when I would be taken. Soon. I am a 68 year old woman with Multiple Sclerosis who recently had back surgery which was all on the paperwork, waiting is a painful thing for my body. When I was called back I asked the assistant to speak to the office manager to which she asked why and I said I would prefer to tell her. She advised me the office manage was not there but I could tell her. I stated that I was not comfortable with that long of a wait and then she copped an attitude for the remainder of my visit. She recommended to me FOUR times to get my eye exam for glasses and FOUR times I said no because this is a medical exam and I will get a FREE eye exam through my insurance and why would I pay them $45.00 for something I could get for free? After more that 30 minutes of testing she stated she would dilate my eyes and I told her I did not bring a ride. She said that it is "Okay, not like it used to be in olden days", I told her it used to be you could not drive with dilated eyes, she again said it is fine. I then saw the doctor, we discussed the cataract surgery. My drive home was THIRTY minutes and I COULD NOT SEE!! I kept pulling over and drove very slowly on the highway. I 10 from Warner Road to Maricopa then onto 347. I was trying not to cry and kept saying to myself that if I crashed I would sue the SH$T out of them. Nice assistant! BEWARE!!! read more

So, my eye has been bothering me for months now and i decided to go there to have it checked out again. Yes - Again! I went there when it started first and had it looked at - "Nothing wrong, here are some artificial tear drops." Humm ok. Months later i am still in pain. So, i call and ask for appointment with another Doc. I show up there fashionably 10 min early, check in, put my ass in the chair and wait. And wait. And wait some more, for the total of 40+ min. Aaaaaalright, i had worse waits before. So i go in and some super unpleasant lady asks me some questions and leaves. Then Doc comes in and does whatever they do there. Sure enough there is some other elderly chick there in tow for some reason. Just standing there glaring. Geesh What is up with that? So, anyhow - 3 stars! Yes...sometimes, well, most of the time you will wait to see the physician, but you are called into an exam room and screened in a reasonable amount of time. BUT it is worth the wait! I had a HUGE infected sty on my eye that my regular Optometrist couldn't take care of for me, so there I was meeting Dr. Jon Konti. I really don't praise Doctors much but this one is an exception. I found his "bedside" manner to be outmatched by none, he's professional and speaks in a language I get and he answered all my questions without making me feel beneath him for even asking. Oh yeah, and did I mention he even has a sense of humor. He's definitely the only Doctor appointment I don't dread going to and I will be making him my regular eye doctor going forward. read more

I was very disappointed in the level of services I received. I had a stye issue that I had dealt with before. The Dr. walked in and just started squeezing without warning it until it popped. It was excruciating. In the past I had luck with a medication and she refused to prescribe it. I was told to do warm compresses (which never work) and prescribes an ointment which didn't work. I was told to come back in a week so I scheduled an appointment 10 days out. After she popped the stye it ballooned up and after a week it had only gotten worse. I called to see if they could prescribe what I had originally asked for and they said I would have to come in so they could see the Dr. very frustrating and I went somewhere else. It was resolved within 72 hours. read more

I agree with those about the rudeness of staff and the long wait. Dr M is a great Dr but they have 1) cancelled my appointment because of their error and did not make accommodations for me. 2) Then I get a new appt and after waiting 1 hour 15 minutes the "lady" clearly not a professional, tells me I couldn't see the Dr because my appt didn't say that. Even after explaining what happened. 3) Then she kept asking me why I think I need to see a Dr. I finally said that's it, I don't need this and terminated our relationship. Of course she couldn't care less. If you don't have time to wait or cash in hand this is not the Dr for you. read more

Long time patient. Woke up with a scratchy eye...called at 11:30 on Firday and they couldn't see me until Monday. Found someone else that cared...Baseline/Higley and closer to home...5 star Dr. He saw me immediately had me go there right away. Yep...eyeball was scratched so on antibiotics now. Lack of care for patients if you ask me. At least I didn't have a long wait like I usually do. Was at Dr. in less than an hour and back home. read more

Dr. Konti is a rock star. He did a cornea transplant on my 16 year old son and his vision is nearly perfect 20/25. His professionalism is awesome and he is a very bright and skilled surgeon. We are having another transplant this week and I am confident that Dr. Konti will take his time and do his best again. read more

Great business if you like sitting in a chair for hours. I had an eye problem and went to the Ahwatukee office for an afternoon appointment, my kids in tow. After waiting a while, they told me the doc was dealing with an emergency and would be delayed. I completely understood. After a COUPLE HOURS I tried to reschedule and while the staff was very kind, they wouldn't let me reschedule. They kept saying, just a little longer. My kids were hungry for dinner so I said I was leaving, so they hurried me into an exam room and left me there a while longer! I sat there and listened to my doctor in the next room do a whole appointment with another patient. Obviously he wasn't ready for me like the staff said. But finallly, I got the care I needed and it helped. I feel like the doctor really listened to me. So, a few months later, 2 days ago, I went for my follow up at the Tempe office for a MORNING appointment. I got there 15 minutes early, but was not seen by the assistant for at least 1/2 hour after my appointment time. Then I got processed in by the medical assistant, and was put in an exam room. An hour and 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment, I walked out. I told the receptionist my name, and that I was leaving because I had been waiting so long. She just said, "Alright." I was furious; my day off was shot, no apologies, no explanation. I know doctors have emergencies, but that must not have been the case here. I am incensed at the lack of customer service. Each individual person I dealt with at both offices was very nice, but the entire office system at both offices is inconsiderate of my time. I am a consumer and I would not stand for this behavior at a restaurant or a store. I believe they should have told me, on both occasions, "We're running at least 45 minutes late. Would you like to reschedule?" Unless you need one of these physicians for their particular specialty, vote with your feet. Walk away. Unless you really like sitting for hours and being disregarded. read more

While the doctors are professional and highly praised, the two hour wait accompanied by quite possibly one of the rudest receptionists I have ever met in a health care facility made our visit regrettable. I understand they're working under early and long hours however a patient-centered customer service would make the wait just a little more bearable. read more

Yep--sometimes you end up waiting. It's worth it, however, for the knowledge and professionalism you get. And if you're ever the one who has an emergency, you'll sure be willing to have someone else wait a bit. Get an early appointment; late ones are going to run over--hello. They've taken care of me through glaucoma and cataracts so far, and my older in-laws are happily seeing them on my recommendation. read more
