I took my dog here to get a haircut and after she was done she was acting strange and had a few cuts on her from the clippers. Second time I brought my dog in in the last 4 months she is a short hair Chihuahua and it states it would be $34 for grooming online. Yet second time I brought her in it was almost $70 my dog weighs 7 lbs she didn't even get a haircut she had a few long hairs cut her face wasn't cleaned she still has a beard basically got a bath and her nails clipped and feet cleaned up for $70. I asked if they had a veteran's discount no they laugh very funny. And told me that I could go elsewhere. Very unfessional. The cats are adorable. I worked with a local rescue that helped with adoption processes of animals. I specifically helped with the cats and they have a good chance of being adopted from petco. But my foster cats always ended up getting sick with some kind of sickness or virus when they would spend a week there. I think Petco is kind of an "iffy" place. It's ok, just needs to keep up with cleaning and protecting the kitties. read more

Worst excuse for a pet store when it comes to fish! The other species, I will give them, seem to do fine, but the fish are always sick and emaciated. For a company that claims to be all about helping us folks take care of our pets...they seriously have no business telling anybody how to take care of their pet fish. Horrible. I purchased 2 freshwater fish that died when I added them to my established tank. The fish were not picked on. It is a peaceful tank and I added them according to proper procedures for introducing new fish. One died with in 12 hours, the other died within 24 hours of purchase. The manager told me that the warranty was invalid because of a factor they did not tell me about. Instead of trying to work with me to figure out what the problem could be, the answer was just "no." We used Petco last year for great pyrennees rescue. He had never been shaved and was at least 3 to 4 years old.and we took him back this year to have the same shave and made the mistake of having our son bring him in because the only time they had we were working. They had our son sign a paper that it was going to be almost $140 as opposed to 83 the prior year. When confronted with the situation they simply said well that is what was signed for and that is all that we can do. We will never take our pets there again. I got my dog groomed here about a year ago but finally decided to write a review upon remembering I never did anything about my experience (or I should say my poor dog's experience). I took her in to be groomed and when I got her back out I thought everything was fine and took her home. When she was home I felt a crusty spot on her neck and was confused at first but then I realized it was dried blood. They had cut my dog and they didn't even tell me. She is 12 years old and she yelps with even the slightest bit of discomfort, so I am more than positive they knew it. But rather than tell me, they let me pay full price plus extra because her hair is long and she takes extra time, and the groomer said nothing as I tipped her and asked her how my dog was during grooming. This by far has been the worst place my dog has ever gotten her hair cut. We got there and they immediately had said they were going to charge us extra for the inconvenience of having to detangle her hair which I was fine with because she did have a couple of Matts. When we went to go pick her up the lady kept complaining how hard it was to cut her hair. Overall she ended up just cutting her entire hair off even her tail,her face looks complete chopped up and unprofessional. I posted a picture of what a shih tzu to her should look like. I really like the the selection that they carry, however what keeps this place for getting more stars is the manager "Emily". She is one of the rudest and unprofessional Mangers I have ever come across. She completely embarrassed an employee that was a cashier by yelling at her in front of 10 customers while I was waiting in line. Then when I got to the register the manager was rude as rude can be to me regarding a defective product. There was another lady there bring back a defective product also that was treated very poorly as well. I singed a petition to bring Petco to Twin Falls. Very disappointed with the service here. Besides being understaffed, there is a huge lack of communication between associates. After talking with two managers about a specific pet adoption and confirming with BOTH of those managers that we would be back the next day to adopt said pet we returned to find the the pet had already been taken. The animal was kept in the back employee area with TWO 'do not sell' notes that included our personal contact information on the animals cage. To the managers dismay and ours, NO attempt was made to contact myself (with the information readily available on the pets cage) before they adopted the pet elsewhere, nor were the managers notified who signed the other note to hold the animal for us. This was beyond disappointing & little was done to try to rectify the situation. We will not be shopping here again.
