dr. Green has seen my black pug since he was six weeks old. He'll be 11 soon once a year he gets his physical and vaccinations and he's a healthy little guy and happy. I can't imagine a different veterinarian colitis bleeding rectally when he was a few months old took Dr. Green cleared it up and Ibrought him home. He is on.their Hills diet treats and canned food and dry dog food. I think that's a great idea to keep them on one type of food throughout their life the ID digestive advantage have not had any problem since I see where people are concerned about the staff at the front desk. They're very welcoming and kind and considerate. years have not noticed them to be rude to anyone. read more

I had a 1pm appointment for my dog. (First time at this place). The front desk staff was very matter of fact and not warm or friendly at all. I was told they will let me know when a room is free. After 40 minutes, I went back to the counter and said "just making sure you haven't forgotten about me". Again, the front desk was not friendly, offered no smile and said "we haven't forgotten". I finally got into the room at 1:55 for the 1pm appointment. The doctor came in at 2:05 and was very nice and took good care of my dog's needs. As I checked out the staff (now 3 of them behind the counter) never offered a smile or an apology (or excuse) for the 1 hour late appointment time. I am giving one star due to front desk staff and wait time with no explanation. read more

We are very happy with Sawtooth Veterinary Services. Our cat needed at least one tooth pulled, Dr. Schabacker said we can do the surgery today so we left her for a few hours. We have had a vet here in Twin Falls that we have seen for years. Every visit the office charge went up as well as the procedures and meds. We were told they were booked for surgery and my cat could not get in for 6 weeks! They also gave us 4 different estimate procedures with prices that were unbelievable. Dr. Schabacker gave us an estimate which we agreed to. He actually pulled 2 teeth and the total bill was less! He also cleaned her teeth for free. Absolutely one of the worst clinics I have ever been to. All of the receptionists are very rude and unimpressionable, the one with the awful raspy voice is the worst I hate when she answers the phone. There is always foul language/conversations coming from the back of the building that every person in the lobby can hear, I just imagine a shit show if anyone ever was able to go back there and see how well their pet is actually being cared for. The drop off system is chaos and I feel as though they cram to many pets in for surgery to properly be able to care for them. Someone really needs to do an inspection on this clinic, judging by all the poor reviews it's a common occurrence. read more

I don't even know where to start! My cat got bitten by a dog on a Sunday and was obviously seriously injured. I called my (now former) vet, and a bunch of other vets, but Dr. Green was the only one to call me back. He got my kitty right in and comfortable and was very straight forward about what was wrong and what should be done. I left sad and worried, but confident that my cat was in good hands. He was there for a month ands I never stressed about the quality of care. Dr. Green was very good about updating me with realism and honesty. My cat who is very much on his 11th life, did not make things easy for us. He was sweet to all involved, but he had multiple weird complications. Dr. Green rolled with all of them and got him well. He's recovering at home and in little to no pain and in good spirits. Dr. Green spent considerable time, skill and patience on my cat and his biggest motivation was saving his leg and making him well. I am sure he has succeeded to that end, but we have some more recovery to go. He also charged considerably less than he could have. I plan to take all of my animals to Sawtooth/Dr. Green in the future because I had nothing but good experiences and confidence in this office. read more

I took my doberman pup to get his ears cropped, gave Dr. Green multiple pictures of the ears I wanted. It was the exact same dog model at many different angles and I asked months in advance if Dr. Green was confident he could make the ears exactly like that. He confirmed he could, even giving a chuckle that he had cropped many dobermans. The ears turned out too tall and way too wide. The crop I asked for was not complicated, just a medium straight crop. Dr. Green couldn't even handle that even with multiple references. I would have given this review 3 stars rather than 1, except for two things. The protocol was to drop the puppy off to let his ears air out over night, then be wrapped the next day and sent back home for three more days. I was due to pick him up on a Friday when I got the call that my puppy had parvo. They kept him over the weekend, not feeding him as per parvo protocol (which is also very detrimental to the bones of fast growing large breed dogs). I was told Monday to come pick him back up because he was magically fine. Parvo was gone in only a few days??? I got the front desk and asked for the parvo test to be performed in front of me. It was negative. The virus would have been active for much longer than that even after the puppy no longer had symptoms. They didn't even offer an apology or to refund my $330 for the weekend "treatment". I knew right then I was never coming back as soon as they took the stitches out of my pup's ears. After that, during one of the times I watched them clean the ears to prevent infection, Dr. Green handled my pup with unnecessary roughness. When I asked why that was necessary, he simply responded by saying that "cosmetic surgery isn't pretty until it is." First of all, alcohol and a dish rag isn't necessary to clean ears when he could have used iodine on a cotton ball. Secondly that was unprofessional and callous on his part. My advice to everyone reading this: If anyone at this vet office tells you your puppy has parvo, ask to see the parvo test be performed in front of you. Secondly don't bother asking Dr. Green to crop your dog's ears, he can't even manage very easy crops with multiple high quality pictures AND he doesn't know how to gently clean the ears. Try the vet in Burley instead, if you don't want to leave Idaho, or save the extra money and go to Texas. Go to Houston's Ear Cropping Clinic. They're cheaper and more skilled than Sawtooth Vet. read more

I can see why this vet has many 1-star ratings. When calling simply to request a phone call to consult for an ongoing issue for my 13 year old basset hound, they cut me off repeatedly. I could not get a word out. I tried to explain very patiently why I needed a short conversation with a doctor about what to do (ongoing issue where many of the variables they wanted to test for were eliminated). I called hoping we could discuss in a short phone call. I was certainly open to bringing my dog in, but that has always (!) proven fruitless due to the issue. I tried to explain this. They continued to cut me off and escalated the conversation. I asked to speak to the "boss" and right out of the gate, he did a bad set up. Very clearly saw where the culture of the practice that earned a 1 star review came from. I have been working with people professionally for 25 years in customer service and counseling. The practice's desire to commodify at any opportunity is the only drum they march to. I have rarely seen a health clinic that is to be focused on the enrichment of life and customer service, so contrarian and non-customer focused ...flat out escalating and accusatory ...unaware of their impatience and blame-shifting on to the customer, so that they can earn a buck. This experience was so out of left field: it has left me in a place of needing to find another vet for what could be a very problem for my beloved dog. Hence, I will be reporting this clinic to the board of veterinary medicine. Truly outrageous. read more

I just got my dog back from being spayed and noticed that multiple nails on her paws are bleeding (see photo). Her nails were already short to began with and so there was no need at all to get these trimmed. This is unacceptable after paying a large medical bill to get her spayed only to find out she's been treated poorly. I will not be returning and would advise those considering this business to be extremely cautious and/or avoid. read more

I tried to stay with this veterinary hospital, but could no longer tolerate their staff, their lack of service. The front office is very poorly run, nobody seems to be in charge, they are unorganized and rude. After going there with cats and dogs for three years and spending thousand of dollars, they ask if we have seen them before. They don't even try. The lobby is constantly overrun with people and pets, and no serious measures were taken during Covid. Dr. Greene might be a nice man, but he hasn't control over his staff and the constant chaos at his clinic. There is no sympathy and empathy for pets and people. Unfortunately there is very little competition in Jerome, so choices are very limited. read more

I brought my Doberman puppy there to have her ears cropped and she caught distemper and died. My dog had not been taken anywhere in public except to their facility. I carried her in and out of the facility so she would not even touch the ground. If I had to do over I would never take another animal there. They were poor at responding when I ask questions I asked to speak to the doctor on more than one occasion and he never talk to us even after we told them that our puppy had died. read more

Sawtooth Vet has been our pet caregivers for 20 years. Recently we took our elder dog Polly 14, in for exams/X-rays due to uncontrollable bowels. Dr Green was excellent at reviewing her X-rays with us and prescribing medication for her comfort care. End of life discussions regarding our pets is never easy to accept, but Dr. Green was kind and made difficult news understandable. Sawtooth Clinic is clean and modern. JULY 27, 2020...I just called the vet after making a $300.00 payment. After being put on hold for about ten minutes I requested a copy of my animal records. I was informed they would only be sent when the BOGUS additional charge of$700. was paid in full. I have a puppy that I believe is due for rabies and has been involved in a scuffle with a raccoon. Not knowing if he is safe this vet office has jeopardized our safety and the safety of our animal rescue. They still say I owe over $400. The amount continues to go up without explanation. When attempting to explain this the receptionist hung up on me. Warning this clinic is now being run in a very haphazard manner with a lack of moral convictions that seriously jeopardizes the safety of the community. All rudeness by unprofessional staff aside I would avoid this clinic as any involement could compromise the health of not just your animal but yourself. read more

Took my Dane here for ear cropping by Dr. Green & provided pictures of the look we wanted which is what we were instructed to do. The end result was much different, much wider than they should be & at 8 months, we're still posting to get them to stand properly. It's disappointing because we drove 2hrs on 3 separate occasions to see them because people had recommended Dr. Green on various ear crop forums for our area. Supposed to be experienced & reasonably priced. I have 2 stars for the pricing because they were reasonable but we are very unhappy with this crop. Its like they barely cut any of his ear off. Not how the crop was in the pics we provided. They should not be this wide! Hopefully with more posting, they'll eventually stand properly but I'm concerned that they won't due to the extra weight. Rating depends on the vet you get. Five stars for Dr. Greene! Our dog was attacked by another animal. We took her in. A different vet stitched her up. We went two weeks later for stitches out and saw Dr Greene this time. He said her tail was broken and now had to be cut off. So pissed. This place used to be great and my family has taken our pets here for years. Over the last three years or so the place has rapidly declined, mostly due to the costumer service from the front desk staff. I have an outdoor cat that is a mouser, so he needs worm medication every so often and I can never get the same answer from them twice on how to get it. When I call to ask for it I'm told not to call and to just come into the clinic and when I just show up without calling they chastise me like a child for not calling before hand. It became too much when every visit turned into an overnight stay because they can't be bothered to actually look at your pet during their appointment. When I went in today to pick up my pets vet records to take to a new place the lady at the desk just stared at me for a minute and then turned back to her computer and just ignored me until another customer came in and there was a line waiting. read more

Got my kitty spayed here after having a "meh" experience at a vet closer to home. Well worth the drive from Twin. The clinic was very clean and didn't have that vet smell even in the afternoon and I appreciate they have spay and neuter specials which this area really needs as the homeless pet population seems to be exploding. They also have vaccination prices posted unlike the other vet. Will definitely take my other pets here. read more

This has been the worst Vet I've ever dealt with EVER! I should've known as the Doctor never came out to meet with me or anything! Future note BIG Red Flag. Brought my Doberman puppy to get his ears done an they taped his ears an he was so sick with what another Vet called Hot Spots an a really Bad Infection due to wrapping the ears after Surgery! I would never ever recommend this place to any one this is not the last they will see this post. Have I mentioned his right lower bell of his ear is bigger then his left one. We will be contacting the BBB... An find out if there's a board that regulates them. By the way the emergency Vet our puppy went to said there a good chance his hair won't grow back due to the infection he had due to his ears being wrapped like they were for so long..... After hundreds of dollars, and several visits we were told our dog had had a heart attack. In fact, she was being systematically poisoned. every time it happened, unbeknownst to us, we rushed her in, they would give fluids, which flushed out the poison and she of course would feel better. by the time she died, in their facility alone over the weekend when no one is on shift, her organs showed so much poison that it was unbelievable the vet didn't catch it. instead, he got more and more curt and condescending until she died, then he was like, oh oops. when the staff called to tell us of her fate, they were like she died, lets us know what you want us to do with the body, thanks bye. click. whaaaat? ok, as if that was not bad enough, a couple of stray baby kittens found their way to our yard and we fed them and stuff. Our new dogs got a bit rough and messed one of them up a bit. we rushed him here and they seemed awfully helpful and willing to split the cost of the strays injuries. no problem, we were committed to his recovery, hundreds of dollars later, 8 days in the hospital, and the day before he is to come home we get a rude call informing us that he died while no one was on duty, again. he drowned in his own blood thanks to breaking stitches due to playing to hard??? how was he playing so hard, you may ask yourself if he is in a cage alone as we were told? he was a sick kitty recovering, and the only thing that would even make him think of playing hard would be another cat. they deny and deny he was in with another cat and it was purely accidental, but once again, let us know what you want to do with the body, thanks bye. click. these are sentient warm beings what our family has bonded with, and for them to be treated less than anything but what they were but treasured loved ones is sick. i now spend my days praying my animals dont ever have to go in there and never come back again. i cannot take another of those callous unfeeling phone calls with no answers again. read more
