Knight is good for general vaccinations or general small appointments. But I wouldn't recommend them to operate on your pet.

Been going to this vet clinic since 1979 I cannot say I'm in fresh with the new ownership I going with a dog with a bladder infection they say she's a type 1 diabetic they shoot her up with insulin and all weekend and she's been throwing up her food and now she will not eat she was an older dog but this is ridiculous I think they misdiagnosed the diabetes thing I understand their lab equipment is not exactly the top of the line but I honestly could not say I've been extremely disappointed since I've been dealing with the new ownership over the years read more

Short version: These people do not care. I regret not driving to Boise. Long story: I took my dog in for a raised spot on his hip, about the size of a dime and half an inch high. Concerned, I asked Dr. Jeremiah about Stelfonta, an injection treatment that worked well for my brother's dog in Nevada. Instead of discussing it, Dr. Jeremiah lectured me about relying on internet research over his 20 years of experience. I apologized, explaining I meant no disrespect and offered to be the first client of his to try Stelfonta, even providing the website and offering to take daily photos of the process he could have for his use (stelfonta.com). He claimed familiarity, comparing it to a horse cream, despite my clarification that it's an injection. He convinced me to proceed with surgery to remove the mass, promising to research Stelfonta and use it if it recurred. A week later, the night before surgery, I completed an electronic form with my dog's photo and my contact information. The next morning, the understaffed clinic required a new photo and re-entered my information due to a system issue. Dr. Jeremiah, when asked what he thought about Stelfonta, again referenced a cream, showing he hadn't researched it as promised. I regret not taking my dog and leaving then. I waited for a pickup call that never came. At 4 p.m., I called and learned they had my cell number wrong, despite having it correct on the form I had filled out from home. Post-surgery, I used an inflatable cone alternative (D&B $30), two people stopped to ask where I had found it and what it cost. I was told it was much more affordable than the clinic's options. Two weeks later, my 86-lb shepherd mix refused to go back into the clinic for stitch removal, panicking. Unable to carry him in, I removed the stitches myself at home. Knights was my childhood dog's vet and now, as an adult, I take my family dog here as well. Always a good experience. We are a mobile 501c3 non-profit animal rescue and I am a veterinary professional that has been in the field for about 20 years now. We had a great experience with KVC today. We took in 2 sphynx in Oregon a few days ago and found that KVC was the closest clinic on our travel route that could see them. I called yesterday and they scheduled us in for today at 3pm. The place is certainly booming. I saw no less than 30 people come and go from the lobby in the hour I was there with the cats. Owners were bringing in everything from ACL tears to vaccination appointments to a possible Parvo puppy. Dental and spay surgeries were being discharged, as well. They staff made quick work of getting blood from both of our rescue girls, as well as getting their vaccinations done. The price was right, as well, 2 cats for FVRCP+rabies with an FeLV/FIV snap test. Came right to just shy of $200 for both. I'm glad we had a chance to have them seen in Idaho rather than NV or CA where the prices would likely have been double, if not more. While we will probably never need to use KVC again in the future since Mountain Home isn't on our typical travel route, if we were ever in town again with rescue pets, I'd absolutely have them seen again here. took my cat in for suspicion of worms and they didn't even do basic check up (like check her heartbeat or anything) to see if it could be anything else. they just held her on the table and stared at her and told me what i had already assumed without checking for anything else. basically, i had diagnosed my own cat and could've saved myself the trip by just getting medicine from a pet store. they will more likely just stare at your pet to diagnose them and not check them for anything else. read more

Only gave it a star because at least i didn't spend an arm and a leg for their lazy, run of the mill 'advice.' I sent in specific notes with the appointment request for our dog. This was his first time being seen by them and I wanted them to have some background on his issue. They never even read the notes. The visit was a complete waste. My husband was the one who had to go and they insisted nothing was wrong and they didn't need to have labs done. They wouldn't budge and wouldn't just do the labs for us. I'm so annoyed and will never send our dogs there again. Just like everywhere else they're in the business of rushing through appointments and collecting that visit fee at the end. read more

The staff were incredibly kind when it was time to help our family dog cross the rainbow bridge. They gave us as much time as we needed before we said goodbye and even more time afterwards. They took care of our Lilly and we were able to bring her ashes home after just 2-3 weeks. read more

I'm doing another update on her ears, clean ears, healed super fast. Just wish they taped her ears up better after the surgery. But other than that i can't complain. Its time to train her ears and tape them up again, they don't look too bad for not being posted up yet. So glad they still do ear cropping, i recommend. Just ask for pain meds the day of surgery because they don't send home any, but i wish i would've spoke up because my dog had a terrible first night and morning after. 3rd day she was super happy again and playful. Very nice workers , i even showed up late a few times i called in and asked to push it back a little and it was never problem. They always loved my dog when she came in and always came out to pet her. read more

My dog had a hematoma and had to have surgery twice Cause it wasn't done right the first time. kennel was nasty with poop all over him and the kennel. I will not be returning there. My dog was not a happy camper read more

We brought our dog to this vet and the entire staff was fantastic. You can really tell each person truly cares about you and your animal. When we made the decision to put our dog down, the tech and the vet were both so incredible. They were not only sensitive to our feelings but you could tell it broke their hearts as well. 10/23/19-My boyfriend took my Service Dog in for Grooming & Vaccination. Told her not to give him a poodle cut but when he came home he had an uneven poodle cut. Called to complain to groomer but she wasn't there. No one called me back. 10/24/19-Called and was told Diane wasn't in today and they thought someone called me yesterday to tell me. No one called. Call tomorrow. Said they left a message for her. 10/25/19-Spoke to the groomer Diane and she said my boyfriend only told her to not touch the ears and tail and nothing else about the rest of my dog. She argued and stated it took her 20 minutes to unmat my dogs ears which I don't see the reasoning for bringing such a thing up when it has nothing to do with her lying about messing up my dogs fur. She DID cut and fluff his tail and his ears which she specifically was told not to do. I demanded a full refund and for Diane Weildman to call me back but she never did. I will never bring my dog here again. I was the only person waiting when they opened, and still had to wait for over a half an hour with no explanation. After my dog finally got in, the vet, who was extremely rude, didn't speak to me, poked at my dog for less then a minute, and prescribed $60 pain medication. That is how much I paid to get my dog neutered, so to pay that much for a very small amount of medication that I only ended up having to use once was a bit ridiculous. I've also never been treated so poorly by a vet before. The lady at the front desk wasn't very kind either. It might sound petty, but my animals mean more to me than most, and when one is in pain, I don't want to have them treated like they aren't worth the vets time. Just a quick update - They killed one of my friends dogs while spaying her, because they man handled her so much that her stomach flipped. That is not the first account of death on their hands that I have heard of. It might be "accidental", but there is a line that has been crossed into carelessness in my opinion. read more

Went in without an appointment at 8 AM on Wednesday and had my puppy checked out, given medicine for an infection and we were out of there by 8:23 AM!!! Service with a smile at the reception desk and an attentive Vet and assistant. Other than free, how much better can it get??????? read more

I went to Knight Veterinary in mountain home not one vet could fit me in these people did and I was very grateful. We had a female that 2 day old puppies that was not feeling good everybody was booked solid so It was worth going to mountain home to Knight vet very caring nice people . They was busy to, but Rhonda was kind enough to help us get in . It was cheaper too. I cant imagine having to feed 9 puppies . I will be spaying a female in next 2 months . The staff here is very friendly and welcoming. They got my cat in for an appointment at the last minute on a Saturday. They were kind to her and understanding of how she was feeling. Dr Amber Parrish was wonderful with my cat. She treated her with empathy and came up with a great treatment plan. Both the doctor and her technician listened to us and took our concerns seriously. In the past, I've had veterinarians treat me with less care because my pet is a cat and not a dog. The receptionist was very helpful as well. I'll definitely trust them with my pets again. read more

I took my dog here today but never again. The staff wasn't to friendly but the worst of it was the vet and his assistant. It was like a 2 second check up. Didn't take the time to do a proper exam. Said she had a small infection in notjw ears had the assistant put meds in her ears didn't even do it in the room. The meds are all over her ears even they top of them. Now she really isn't feeling well. They treated my dog like she didn't matter. I'm very worried about my dog now she is my baby. She loves going outside and for walks but she doesn't want to even do that. Plus she doesn't want to eat. Plus she is shaking. I tried giving her her favorite treat doesnt eveny want that so for her not wanting to go outside and eat there definitely something wrong. I called them they said she could be feeling uncomfortable due to the meds to me that's a crock cause she's had meds in her ears before. Terrible service. We just took our dog to Knights as she was having an allergic vaccine reaction from a vet appt she had in Boise. We wanted to stay in town to avoid going to Boise. The tech said the vet had already left after the last appt at 5:00pm even though they're open until 6:00 pm. She didn't even offer to help or possibly call him in. Seemed anxious to be able to go home to me... I'm so disappointed in the service of this vet. This is exactly why we take our dog to Boise - WAY better customer service! read more

I've been a customer of Knight's for nearly a decade, and have seen an almost unbelievably sharp decline in customer service over the last six months. I took my lab in about six months ago with a limp that had persisted for a few weeks. I dropped her off and did some quick running around town. On my way back to the clinic, I turned North on Elmcrest and PASSED MY DOG running south on Elmcrest, straight toward the Airbase Road Chevron, complete with several staff members running behind her trying to catch her. Once back in the clinic, they were obviously apologetic, stating that hasn't happened in several years. ("Wait, this has happened before?!?") They had put her under anesthesia and gave her a steroid injection for what was probably arthritis. She awoke and bolted out the open back door and through the open corral gate. When I went to checkout, I inquired if there would be a "I-just-passed-my-dog-running-down-the-road" discount, and there wasn't even a smile as the girl just said no and ran my card. When I got home, I called to speak to the doctor. When he called me back, I inquired why there wasn't at least some form of monetary compensation...I wasn't looking or a freebie, but a 10 or 20 percent discount or waiving the exam fee would have been a nice gesture. He was somewhat standoffish with me, basically saying he thought I was okay with a verbal apology, and essentially made me feel like a jerk for asking for money from them. At any rate, they told me to come back in a few days and pick up an envelope. Once opened, I realized they decided to give me a full refund, which I was pleased with, but it was accompanied with a letter that was a half-assed apology followed by the punchline of the letter explaining that if I was not happy with them that I could find another veterinarian. Fast forward six months, and I have another dog that is rapidly nearing the end of his lifespan due to dysplasia and arthritis...just old and in a lot of pain. As I said, I've been going here for a decade...so I figure the above incident was a one-off, and set an appointment up to euthanize my old friend for 3 PM in the afternoon. They call me ONE AND A HALF HOURS prior, explaining that there is a note in my file stating to deny me service from now on. Here I am, saying goodbyes to my dog that is going to die in a few hours, and they call me and cancel. I asked to speak to the doctor and got blown off. read more

I wouldn't advise ever taking your pet to this "veterinary" clinic. They completely misdiagnosed my 5 year old dog as having "poor night vision" when my wife and I noticed that he was having depth perception problems. My wife wasn't satisfied with that answer, and took him to a reputable vet in Boise where he was properly diagnosed with having Progressive Retinal Atrophy, a degenerative disease that can't be treated. I also had an experience where I took my other dog, who had an eye lid that was looking droopy into the office, and the vet wasn't due to be in for 2-3 hours. I asked the vet staff if they had ever seen a case like this before,and if so, what it might be. They said that because they were not veterinarians, they couldn't even comment on it. Okay, I understand that. I then asked if it was something that I should take my dog immediately to another emergency vet in Boise and explained that I wasn't looking for a diagnosis, and like robots, they again repeated that they weren't allowed to advise me on what to do. I just shook my head and walked out, vowing not to ever bring my pets their again, which I haven't. Personally, I think that the male veterinarian is a clown, and the staff, for the most part, is just flat out rude. Do yourself a favor: if you care for your pets, take them somewhere else. read more
