Where to start? They had a "coupon" for free physical. My dog needed his rabies vaccine and I thought it would be cheaper than his regular vet. Out the door it was the same price and the physical was done in less than a minute. When I asked about that they said " well, he looks healthy". Not what I would call a physical. The also don't seem to know dog breeds! My dog is 100% golden retriever but, they had his breed as a labradoodle. He has neither of those breed. I have the paperwork to prove that and anyone can see that by looking at hi. Except this place Try to get that changed! I called and I can only get that changed on a day that they have a clinic via phone. Makes no sense. When it came to weighing him they didn't even wait for him to settle on the scale and missed his weight by 10 pound. (Stopped into his regular vet to confirm weigh) We had an appointment and people who came in after us went in first . we waited an hour. Bottom line, go to a regular veterinary clinic where they actually do a physical, have knowledge about dog breeds and actually care about your pet. read more

Customer service was trash today. A couple weeks ago I decided to make this my "home" store. Came in multiple times before now, awesome customer service, I was happy. Came in today to finally buy fish & nothing. I'm the only customer in the store... Stood around for about 5-10 minutes, sorta waiting on the staff to get a clue and nothing. As I turn around to leave I see 2 staff rearranging shelf items or whatever. Absolute worst customer service. Stop in the other day to get a couple fish. Couldn't find anyone to help me. Finally tracked down a worker, mind you I was one of 2 guests in the entire store, so it was not busy. Asked if I could get some help in the fish department. She said yes, so I walked back over by the fish and waited. 10 minutes passed, track down same lady. Very nicely I say nobody has come to help me. Does she apologize, No, instead gives me attitude. Tells me they are VERY busy, and someone will eventually be with me. Told her I will be taking my business elsewhere, she tried to back track her snootiness and have me stay. But I left and I will never come back, there are plenty of other pet stores in the metro area with better customer service and better selection. Also there was still just me and one other customer in the store the entire time. Oh and when I have bought fish here in the past, they are very rude and give you the 10th degree. We don't have all the pet store options on the hill in Stillwater so I'm glad we do at least have a Petco. It is not as bright and enjoyable to shop at as some other places but they do carry a huge variety of items for my precious cat Fiona and my grand pups Archer and Lannah Belle. read more

Kenji and I love Kayla! She's an excellent cat groomer. She always does such a great job. It seems there aren't many cat groomers available and the few that are out there haven't been able to beat Kayla. She trims her paws perfectly and gets her nails done perfect too and I love that I'm able to keep my Persians butt sanitary. read more

This location is a dumpster fire. Some of the employees are great, and belong somewhere better, but the management is atrocious. My daughter is an animal lover, and Petco used to be the first place she went on payday to get new toys/food/housing/accessories for all her animals (Rabbit, cat, turtle,beta). She recently bought a beta fish that died almost immediately, so she went in for a replacement. They gladly refunded her but then would not sell her a replacement stating that she was too young. Yet they just sold her the first one that died. I'm a single parent who works during most retail hours, so I am not able to easily accompany her. She is almost 17 and is capable of doing a lot on her own. I had to come in to get her fish for her. The manager who stopper her from purchasing the fish then seemed to commit her to memory. Recently, my daughter wanted to get some ghost shrimp to put in with her beta. She went to the store and the manager followed her and told her she had to be 18 to purchase SHRIMP!!!! I then called in and asked if I could give her permission over the phone to buy these shrimp since it is not easy for me to get there during business hours. The guy on the phone said no problem, that he understood my problem, and assured me it was ok. As soon as my daughter set foot in the store, the manager was there to tell her NOPE!!! Sent her packing. I called to speak to the manager and she was extremely rude, and less than understanding of our dilemma. Luckily, there is another great pet supply store across the street named ATLAS, who was more than willing to help my daughter with her needs, and were very helpful and kind. Also, there are several items that are cheaper at petco.com, than in the actual store. The exact same items. You have to ask them to price match themselves.....Really? All in all, Petco has gotten the last penny it's ever going to get from us. From here on out, it's Atlas, or Chewy.com for us. I suggest steering clear of this store. read more

I was in there thirty minutes before close and they had already started cleaning, which is fine, until the guy with the floor scrubber came down the aisle that I'm shopping down TWICE. He scared my dog and made us awkwardly get out of the aisle without even saying excuse me. Again, this isn't even when they're closed. No employees acknowledged us or asked if we needed any help. Save your time and go to the Woodbury location, they're a lot nicer and seem to actually care about the pets you bring in. Definitely not using this location again read more

I pulled up. Was not even sure they were open ? Walked down an aisle and employee came with a smaller cart down said aisle. Not an "excuse me" "pardon me" no nothing. Myself and my kids were the ones who had to stand up against the shelves so she could pass us ? Strike 1 An employee did ask if we needed help and then it was the game of 100 questions. Like I was incompetent of Owning a fricken goldfish . And acted like nope. We aren't going to sell you any of these fish. They are suppose to last one of "our" life times . Puzzled but was like whatever . I'm getting the hell out of here. Was more worried about my Son, who isn't neuro -typical . Dropping a tiny 8$ sponge. Bob thing u put in a fish tank I was going to buy for him.. REGARDLESS IF HE DROPPED IT AND BROKE IT. I'm not an A-hole of a person. But said employee was more worried about the precious Krusty Krab.. then about helping us with with WE came there for. Mind u I assured her broke or not. I'd still pay for it. Today for the second time in a row ( first in Dec and again today)the groomers at Stillwater Petco canceled my appointment AFTER I got there to drop off my springer spaniel dog. (Would have been nice if they had called and saved me the trip.) No legitimate reasons for cancellation today. In December said not enough time had been scheduled. But today said it was because my dog was older( which they knew when I made the appointment) and might get stressed with prolonged standing ( He can handle a 10 mile hike in Montana so doubt this would be an issue) I was told they couldn't do the proper springer cut on him because of this. What???? Suspect new grooming team is inexperienced, old groomers have left, they used to be excellent there so I am very disappointed. Beyond that, the young woman who spoke with me,named Jeanette, was so rude, I doubt I will ever go back to that store let alone the groomers there. She should be embarrassed and the managers need to address this. FYI called Petco in Woodbury who have fabulous groomers and they will happily groom my dog next week. Petco is decent for a big chain petstore, they go a little further than PetSmart in my book.

For years, we have been taking our Westie to PetCo for grooming. She recently turned 15, but knows the routine of going to get groomed. Suddenly, 2 visits ago, we were told that our dog was poorly behaved and would be given 1 more chance to return. We were hesitant to return, but very puzzled as to why the sudden change in her behavior, so gave it one more try. After that visit, we were told that she was perfectly fine, except that she did not like the blow dryer. So, we again scheduled a grooming appointment. Alarmingly early, we were called and told she was done. When my husband went to pick her up, he was told there would be no charge because her behavior was so terrible that they could not finish. Honestly, I am appalled at how my dog looks and at the way the manager dealt with the situation. I will definitely spread the word to others to look for a grooming service that actually knows how to groom and treat senior dogs!!! Had a coupon for a free nail trim. I went to get my dogs nails done. While he was getting them done, I also had a coupon for 50% off a bag of treats at the treat bar so I started bagging treats for him when I looked up and he had gotten scared and fallen off the table. He was hanging from his neck and the groomer took her sweet time to get him back on the table. Never, ever, taking my sweet boy to petco again. Just terrible read more
