Our puppy was so exited to play with the other dogs that every pic was blurry!

We will recommend this place to our friends and family. It makes us feel so much better on vacation knowing our dog is being well cared for! We are able to watch our dog play and interact with her friends through the web cams. We liked the indoor/outdoor layout of this place. Can't wait to bring our dog here in the summer! Great staff and a good way to give your dog a vacation as well.

Our dogs are so calm and relaxed after playing all day at Paws and Claws!

We love taking our dogs to Paws and Claws! We bring our two dogs there for long weekends or when we go on vacation. They play all day every day and the employees really care about the animals and play right along side them. We know if they misbehave the employees will correct the behavior in a humane way. They really have the dogs' safety in mind. Our two dogs are always so calm and relaxed for days after staying there because they get so much exercise! I wish I could bring them every day they love it so much (we live too far for daycare).

Beyond dissatisfied!…read more We sent our dog to this facility on December 5-19th to get a jump start on the basics of training through their "boot camp-board and train" program. Our intent in sending him was so he could receive one on one training in a training environment. 6-8 other dogs were enrolled in the same program at the time our dog arrived. We were promised that he would receive quality attention and training, but we received non of the above. We were also told that we would get a "report card" of his time at this facility. A report card that we have still never received. The dog we brought to this facility was a loving, happy and excited 33lb puppy. He was sent to this facility with ZERO food guarding issues, ZERO fleas and ZERO history of eating dog poop. What we received back was a malnourished 23lb puppy who gained more bad habits than good with his time here. He now guards his bones from humans and our other dogs, had a mild case of fleas and now regularly consumes dog poop. After consulting with our vet and researching with other trainers, it is our firm belief that Winston was mistreated, malnourished and food was withheld from him while at this facility. He was under so much stress while at this facility he nearly chewed his Metal dog collar tags in half. I had requested that our dog be given some food in his KONG at night and was told upon drop off that would happen. I wrote instructions and provided other options to the can food we normally use. This did not happen- had I known it wasn't going to happen, I would have provided additional food in his "daily amounts" to make up for the meal he would be missing. Also, we sent him with a dog bed and blankets, several blankets in case they got soiled or chewed or ripped up while he was there. We received everything back in its original packaging, but his bed. I was told he had destroyed the bed on his second night. However, he was then Put in his kennel (for what I assume is HOURS) with ZERO cushioning because not one single blanket we sent, was removed from its original packaging. We did reach out to the facility pertaining to some of the above issues and they did call us back. After having compounded issues I no longer trust their abilities. The communication that you "receive" before signing your dog up is really around "the money" rather than the experience your dog will receive while in their care. If you ask for an update with pointed questions while your dog is in their care you will receive "he/she is doing good" with very little response to your actual questions. I have (today, January 12, 2016) requested a refund for services rendered (or not rendered depending on how you look at it) and have not received a response yet. I will update my review once a response is given to rectify the situation.

I could not believe it was my dog. (It was!) She uses positive reinforcement so the dogs are not afraid or nervous. They went in to boot camp happy but insane, jumping on people, barking, not listening, tugging on the leash, you name it. They came home as the exact same happy, playful, friendly dogs that went in, but they were calm and well mannered, very attentive to what I ask them to do with simple hand signals. It was worth every penny. We are so lucky to have such an amazing trainer right here in Hudson!

He's very…read moreattached to me, has separation anxiety, and is generally scared of other people (we've been working on that for years now but it's slow going). However, he ADORES other dogs, and his favorite thing in the whole world is being around them and playing with them. It's hard to travel with Benji and he'd struggle if I left him with a dogsitter, so when I had to leave for a weekend recently I decided to try boarding him. Since K9-Playtime includes daycare (a full day of socializing and playing with the other dogs) in their boarding package, they definitely seemed like the best option for Benji, but I was still nervous about how he'd do. The staff at K9-Playtime were super communicative, helpful, and lovely! They asked lots of great questions about Benji's behaviors in different situations to see if daycare and boarding would work for him. I brought him in for a couple partial days of daycare to test things out, and the staff were awesome with Benji and he loved it there! They said he was great with all the dogs and staff members and gave him the OK for boarding. The whole weekend I was waiting for a call saying that he was anxious and needed to be picked up early, but I was so surprised and relieved that Benji spent the whole weekend at K9-Playtime with no issues and actually had a really fun time!! He was happy and exhausted from playing when I picked him up, and honestly seemed sad to leave all his new friends! He just played with the other dogs all day long while he was there, with breaks for meals and snacks, and by bedtime he was too worn out to be anxious (or conscious lmao). They posted a picture on their social media that includes him, and he just has the biggest goofiest grin on his face as he's running around with the other dogs! I definitely recommend checking out K9-Playtime if your dog is anything like mine! It's so nice to have them as an option for Benji if I need to work a long day or travel. Great experience with them for both me and my dog!

The situation was described to me as the perfect storm. I'm glad to hear that my unfortunate experience might help others after helping to identify things that weren't working. Again, my dogs were well-cared for thankfully. ORIGINAL POST: Poor service, poor communication, and concerning practices. *This was my experience as a first (and last) time customer. My dogs seemed ok but I was not impressed.* NOTES: - Only one person is vaguely trained in the computer system (new as of 9/2024) - I was almost charged double because of the lack of system training. - The Sunday pick-up window ends BEFORE 11am. - There is no way to contact anyone outside of "business hours". - The manager does not have access to all dogs (from how it sounded. I was told upon pickup that the manager conveniently came back from out of town at the exact same time and didn't have keys on her). PRO - accepts last minute reservations - reasonably priced (if not charged twice) MY EXPERIENCE I had a last-minute trip come up, so I was grateful that I could get my dogs into boarding from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. I received a call the day before drop-off to confirm our reservation. Check-in was when things began going downhill. Apparently there is a new computer system, so my dogs were not on the same invoice and I was informed that my card would need to be run twice to make sure both invoices received payment. Slightly inconvenient but whatever. Until I was informed that I would be charged for 2 dogs and 2 nights twice, doubling my payment. It took 3 people explaining that ($43+$39) for 2 nights charged twice was $300+, not $175 total. We had to completely redo the reservation before everything was settled. The worst part of this experience was the pickup. I was told to pick up between 10-11am. I hit traffic on my drive and pulled into the empty lot at exactly 11am. I got out of my car after rearranging luggage at 11:01am. I checked all doors to find them locked with no one inside or on the property and proceeded to call the website number to leave 3 separate messages at 11:03, 11:05, and 11:09am. THERE IS NO AFTER HOURS LINE AVAILABLE. The only person I could find on the property was a handyman who proceeded to call the manager. When the manager arrived around 11:15am, I was told that everyone is on break and no one would be back for a few hours (3pm was the earliest time when people would be back in the office based on what the manager told me), so I had to come back at 5pm. According to the manager it was my responsibility to call and ask them to stay "late" even though I was not told that this was the case during check-in. When the manager asked which dogs I was picking up, she immediately responded with, "Yeah, I don't have the keys to their kennel." I have boarded my dogs in Indiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, California, and Nevada. I have never been told that it has been my responsibility to make sure that I call to make sure workers are available during "open hours". Nor have I been told that the manager didn't have access to my dogs. That concerns me when my dogs have no one with them and the two people I could find don't have access to them. I understand that I arrived at the end of the pick-up window. I was more disappointed by the fact that I had informed them of my pick-up time, did not receive a call about changing that time, and there was no humanly way possible for the entire place to be locked up and vacated by 11am while staying open during posted hours.
