Very knowledgeable. I was nervous and he explained everything to me in detail and gave me a great report at the end. Bryson was actually more relaxed when I picked him up and he was groomed so well. I've been to the Boston Rd location a few times since moving to the area to buy supplies for my St. Bernard. I have spent time browsing, checking out the fish,bunnies, etc. I'm very observant, have never smelled a foul scent. The employees I've engaged w/have been very friendly & knowledgeable. Honestly I'm adding 2 cents after reading the 1 star review from the person who commented the smell of urine was embedded in her nasal cavity,an employee making out with/a "dirty bunny",etc. Unfortunately, people can pick apart a decent place if they try hard enough.So dramatic, some people have too much time on their hands. Take my dog there and they fo everything, bloodwork. Shots, tell me they are going to send me my prescription in my email with my consent and blood work results. Get email no script. Now they are refusing to give me the script after all that money spent even though I sent them the paperwork with her lab results. My dog is nine years old. I take him to Petco to get his nails trimmed because I figured a "professional" would do it better than I could. Today my father took my dog and didn't realize until he dropped him off that there was blood all over his truck and now all over my carpets and floors because the groomer cut one of his nails way too short. It's been bleeding for 3 hours. Even though it's a dark nail anyone can see that it's way too short. All the other nails are a lot longer so she clearly wasn't paying attention when she was cutting that nail. He's a nervous wreck and I'm trying to get him to calm down. I am so disappointed in Petco, this is not okay. Petco did not answer when I tried to call and notify them. The second pic is of the blood still coming out after 3 hours. I was in Petco yesterday buying a new hamster, my previous 2 dwarfs had passed and I wanted to get another pet. I met Lyndsey and cannot say enough about how wonderful she was. She was kind, patient with all my questions, and showing me the different ones, and assisting me with picking out my new fur baby. She then helped me picking out some new treats for my baby. When the little bugger began chewing thru the box before I could cash out she got another box, and then a 3rd to contain the little bugger. Absolutely no care is given for living animals when they are in the groomers at this petco. They leave a dog chained up by its neck on a table by a 4 inch chain to go answer the phone to make another sale instead of finishing the current dog that is being groomed. Not sure why the phone was answered while my dog was up on the table considering when I called to make her appointment no one picked up the phone and I had to leave a voicemail and someone called me back. We had to ask the groomers to unchain my dog and remove her as we walked up on her struggling and we're worried for her safety. They clipped only 2 back paws and we left. We also still payed in full for the service. read more

Although From corporate, DM, I have received messages I'll keep telling them I'm all set with this store and that staff "professional behavior Kim in dogs" and so call "Heather" store manager are to me very un ethical, un profesional. GREAT NEWS THO!!! NOW MUST SAY THE EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE I HAD, my pets TROY & MAXIMUS HAD AT THE PETCO ON BOSTON RD. IN SPRINGFIELD MA. And this story goes like this: with a happy ending, we Where greeted by Diana & Amber. As a business person that I am, when you read any information weather good or bad you have some kind of expectations. "Good or bad" based on the information given; right? You have no idea what to expect; we Walked in the grooming side for our appointment at 11am 5/9/19 today Thursday... Diana & Megan where very nice but I could feel at the begging the tension I got as I arrived with my pets. Immediately I had to sign some papers in case of "safety" etc. Not the offers, remember my pets go to Petco the "spa" packages"... so I signed I left the store did not say nothing about the services, pricing... then as I got in my car I proceeded to call,left a curtesy voice mail, letting staff know you forgot to tell me about the spa, prices etc I truly wanted to see there reaction. And must say Diana was so kind I did this on purpose since nothing was informed. As I mentioned as humans we read something and you have expectations bad or good based on the info!!! Diana called me back & I told her you told me nothing dear about the spa packages, my dogs bathe with oatmeal etc. She started to tell me on the phone, I said do what you was planning to do. She was aware I had knowledge of the services, I left it at that, and came home. Around 2:20pm got the call Troy & Maximus are ready to be picked up, they look amazing, they were great dogs, no behavior whatsoever! They are only sensitive to touch on there paws, only Troy sucks on paws like baby.. but "aggressive" "security" LIES, LIES FROM LONGMEADOW PETCO! Great service, and due to what we went through @ the East Longmeadow Petco. Petco in Boston Rd. Went beyond services with Troy and Maximus! Truly grateful, they are one of the smartest breed out there, for those who don't know about dogs. Dog lovers, not only poodles are amazingly smart, excellent companions the do not shed! The most disgusting place on earth. I already normally go elsewhere for pet supplies, but I was shopping in the same plaza so I went to this Petco to save a little time. I was punched in the face with the smell of pee as soon as I was standing in front of their door. I was gonna grab some cat food and browse the cat furniture--Forget It! I grabbed a few essential cans of food to get by the rest of the weekend and I couldn't get out of there fast enough because the smell was embedding into my nasal cavity. But as a made my way past one of their disgusting employees as she made out with a dirty bunny from their diseased cages, a ferret caught my eye. It caught my eye because it was clearly dead, while the other ferrets were running and playing all over him and he didn't move, flinch or breathe. As I stared, my husband said, "let's get out of here." Kiss the dirty bunny all you want: people who actually care about animals could never work here. Just the cups and cups of cheap, dead or dying betta fish alone would have me quitting the first day. No life should be sold that cheap. And Betta's may be small but they can grow to love you and miss you when you're away. Yet they are sold like they are the cheapest and easiest thing to buy for your ugly kids to kill within a week, when actually they need some attention and not so cheap supplies. I have tried various dog groomers in the area, and Petco on Boston Rd (store 792) has not disappointed. The groomer Amber is BEYOND a saint and will take on any challenging task (aka animal) she tells it how it is while still making your pup feel special. My husband and I are very grateful for Amber - she always remembers our pups and makes us feel like she loves them just as much as we do (even though one pup is a challenge!) One of me dogs will get a different groomer here and there, but they all are amazing. We had Kayla this time and she was super sweet. They also send you home with goodie bags and "report cards" which we love. They never act bothered when I ask questions or call and check in. I hope PETCO never loses employees like Amber, Kayla, and the whole grooming gang. We are truly grateful for them! read more

Very bad, not good. Took our dogs to get vaccinated. I thought this was going to be a mistake from the moment we walked in and the check in woman seemed incapable of doing her job, had to get help for everything. Also very unfriendly. Our dogs are old, so treating them is more complicated than most dogs, but even at that, these clowns couldn't figure out what they were doing, and proposed no fewer than three proposed treatment plans, then lied about what they had given the dogs and what they had yet to, disregarded paperwork from previous vaccinations until I made them to understand the paperwork. And then lied about cost, and charged us twice. Not cool. Will never, ever, ever go back to this store, not even for cat litter. And I will likely never step foot in another Petco again. I go to this Petco becuase it's the closest store that has the food I like for my dog. If I had better options, I'd take them. But the thing about this location is that it's really (and I'm not exaggerating) in need of some TLC. The last time I was there two nights ago the front, automatic doors wouldn't even close entirely. They were stuck partially open. And even though the folks working there are nice, I get the impression they'd rather be somewhere else doing something better. I think this joint realizes it's the only place around, and takes advantage of that fact. Typical big box pet store. They have grooming and training also. I did do the beginner training with Pat. It was fair. I have since used ItsPawsible and would recommend them over Petco. They have a rewards club that gets you back five percent. The staff is very knowledgeable and that was worth one star. They have an online presence also. Shop around many times you can find things cheaper. If you are like me and are always busy having everything in one place is worth paying a little extra. read more

Petco litter did the trick & comes in a refillable bin that takes cash off future refills. And I never make it past the dog toy aisle in my quest for the indestructible toy. Still searching. Usually don't have a bad experience here, but we received a Petco coupon in the mail for buy one get one free cat food. Since this was a good deal, we grabbed a few cases and went to the register. We gave Pat the cashier our pals reward card and the coupon and she proceeded to ring up all the food. When she was done she rang in the coupon for buy one get one free...for ONLY ONE CAN. She proceeded to tell us that she thinks the coupon is only for one can. She called over her manager who also said she "thinks" its just for one can. Two more women also approached the counter and they all said the same thing, that they were "pretty sure it was for only one can." Pat continued to shake her head in an annoyed manner at us through this whole exchange. We decided to take our coupon and leave and call Petco to see if there was someone who actually knew what the coupon was for. It turns out that it is up to each store to honor the coupon however they would like. After a terrible customer service experience in Springfield we drove out to the Petco in East Longmeadow where they were willing to honor the coupon much more appropriately. So when one goes to a pet store, asks their opinion, follows their opinion, and spend a hundreds to make your children's Christmas great...One would think that you would be in good hands. Not here. I sought the advise of the fish department for fish tanks for my son and daughter for Christmas, purchased their recommendation with all of the accessories and gift certificates for the fish themselves only to go back the week following Christmas to have Chris (a bored, un-knowledgeable hourly worker) crap on my kid's Christmas fun. Sad. Not only will I not use my gift certificates except to purchase overpriced catfood, but I will purchase the rest of my fish, tanks and accessories at a real fisth store - School of Fish (just a 5 minute drive to Springfield). read more
