Literally the Saturday before the appt.
Jennifer M.

Devon is a great groomer. Great with animals and great with people. My problem isn't with the service that was provided- it was with the appt. I made (actually they made) the appt at my last grooming and I confirmed when I picked up my pup. Appt time is coming up so obviously they have to call and text to remind me 500 times the week before. The problem... I was on a cruise and didn't answer them. Fast forward to Monday morning- I wrangle up 3 kids and my giant mutt and skadazzle over for 8:30 only to be told that they don't do grooming on mondays. And it's been like that for quite some time. Well- here is my problem, they LITERALLY texted me Saturday to remind me. When I mentioned that they have been calling me the two ladies who were there told me that maybe Devon was calling to cancel. The text proves differently. Maybe I should have called them at 9pm when I got back from out of town but figured I didn't have to since they called and texted 500 times to remind me of my appt at 8:30. I'm just bitter because waking up on a Monday morning after being on vacation for a week then having to get 3 young kids dressed fed and ready to go somewhere for 8:30 in the morning only for it to be a wash bugged me. If my appt was canceled because I hadn't responded they could've left a message.

They did a very nice job on my baby. I think he's getting used to going there. Thanks

Dog Academy - This is Gabby our 4 month old mini-pincher/ Chihuahua mix!!

Dog Academy

I was looking online for in-person training for my puppy, came across several I wanted to check…read moreout. Dog Academy called back immediately with high pressure sales tactics and I signed up for the lifetime service at $1795. The trainer canceled the first session an hour before and it's been difficult to reschedule. I decided to cancel the service after reading numerous bad reviews on BBB. When I called and used the #5 prompt I was on hold for 15 min. I hung up called back using the #2 prompt to schedule more training. It was answered on the first ring. I told them I wanted to cancel, was put on hold and transferred. Waited a few minutes until a representative answered. Of course they tried to talk me into keeping the training, I said no and was told it had to be escalated and I would hear back in 24 hours. We shall see, they took my money instantly but my refund is not instant.

Definitely feels like I got scammed for their lifetime training service. To start, they said they…read morehad hundreds of trainers in my area but once I signed up, there was only 2. I was tols the trainers would work around my schedule, also false. They give you times & days they can show. I have a very specific thing I'd like my dog trained out of ( not the normal stuff you'd see in most dogs) and was told that wouldn't be an issue, but since having them, the trainer just doesn't seem to be that advanced. She is a nice lady and all but not the training I was looking for. Their prices are what mainly get you, for $1400/life compared to $2000+ for a course seems worth it, but it isn't. They only give 1hr sessions twice a week but your the one mainly doing all the work. I was under the impression (as they made it seem) that they would work solely with the dog, become aware of the issue and correct it and then slowly give you the lead on correcting it, 100% NOT the case. My dog had become extremely attached to my ex-girlfriend while we were together, and even after 1yr later, he has completely shutdown on going for walks and some other activities. Things he was never scared of before, scare him now. The trainer they have assigned to me is taking an approach like a normal case of fear but almost nothing is working. The worst part is that you can't cancel & get a refund. If you try to cancel, they switch your lifetime over to individual pricing and charge you per session, which is like $200ea making it far more costly then just keeping the lifetime service. The trainer should be able to come get your dog and be them 2 without you to learn the difficulty of what is happeningz figure out a solution, begin to train them out of it and then proceed to teach you what they are doing. Instead the trainer has you do most of the stuff but in my case, is not 100% what is going on. My dog use to be extremely confident in anything and loved walks no matter what, but now the sllightest popping noise to rain, he doesn't want to walk. I brought up its broken heart syndrome but they & other trainers I've spoken to don't believe it is. He is most of the time confident in going to the dog park but thats about it. I've tried all the normal things on my own but nothing goes through to walking. I'm at a loss on both quality of life with my dog and money from paying dog academy. I have 2 other dogs that do NOT show this behavior what so ever and they are also loosing quality of life by not being able to go on walks because my 1 just shuts down. I seriously need help

Upon calling I was informed that it will take a while (which was no issue for me because at my previous groomer I am used to waiting hours) Overall the people were so friendly and you can tell their love for animals and I loved what they did to my baby, I would highly recommend this place anyone but just make sure you are there early to drop your furbaby off

Terrible. We used Notorious D.O.G. several times over about…read morea two year period.  They do a pretty good job grooming, but I would stay away.  This business has a history of lying. Our poodle mix has anxiety and takes a couple of days to recover from a trip to the groomer or vet. We tried to arrange appointments for him so we could deliver him and pick him up in a reasonable amount of time, but D.O.G. insisted we just bring him early and they would make sure they finished him quickly so he could be picked up.  They apparently use the ASAP acronym. They were keeping him 8 to 10 hours, so we started using other groomers.  None of the other groomers matched the actual grooming services of D.O.G., so we tried going back. When making the appointment we were assured Ollie would be taken "ASAP" and returned. When calling to check. they kept pushing out the completion time.  He was there for about 6 hours. The next appointment I was adamant I wanted him in and out, and even tried to make an actual appointment to drop him off, then pick him up when he was done.  I was assured AGAIN he would be done "ASAP", and that an appointment was not necessary.  Just drop him off at 8:30, and he would be"first".  We called at 12 and was told it would be another two hours.  We called at 2 and was told it would be another two hours.  Ollie was there for 8 hours, and was parched when we picked him up.  He was so thirsty that he drank for about two minutes when we got him home.  It takes him days to recover when he is kenneled all day with insufficient food / water.  What really made me the angriest was how they lie.  I was very clear in every communication that I expected him to be kept no more than 4 hours.  They agreed to my requests, then failed to deliver, every time.  This was my experience, so if you value honesty, integrity, and top notch pet care, I recommend you find another groomer.
