I took my puppy there about five years ago and it took me this long to calm down to write a review. This is the worse dog trainers out there. The first day the girl insults my dog who was a six month old Pomeranian as ugly. Pomeranians go through a ugly period at the age of six months. I overlooked her ignorance. The main issue is that I suspect they used a shock collar on her as I have reasons to believe this. The other issue is she learned nothing, nothing at all except to come back traumatized. I took my 2 month old Golden here to be trained because first I didn't have the time to be consistent, even though I had her 80% potty trained she needed more behavior training. I can't say enough good things about the trainer, the communication, and the dream puppy I brought home. All her training is still working and continuing at home, but I will be putting her in the next round to complete her training. read more

Took me a long time to write this review but I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. Professional?! Right !! They taught my dog nothing but things he already knew. He lost 40 lbs because they only use the food as a training treat, his nose still has a scar from them leaving a muzzle constantly on him and when I picked him up he had a gash on his head from the crate and the didn't even tell me !!' My sweet and viciously cuddly Golden Retrievers could (and would) easily pull me into a busy intersection if they were interested in something on the other side. Walks were a hassle - constantly trying to juggle leashes without getting twisted up, and basically being dragged everywhere we went. Having visitors at home was utter chaos. They weren't BAD dogs, but I knew I needed help! After the 3-week board and train program, our lives are changed for the better! Walks are pleasant, I have total control when we are out and about (and at home for that matter), and they are calm when guests are visiting. This has been truly transformative. The e-collar made me nervous at first, but it is easy to learn and is amazingly helpful! You really need to be ready to devote time and effort to practicing everything when the dog(s) return home. Overall, this has been worth every penny I spent! I appreciate that they are a small, local, veteran-owned business with growing pains. I suggest establishing a relationship with the staff at drop-off and getting their name/number in case you need to reach them. Joseph is extremely responsive and open to constructive feedback. After reading the comments about this business I was compelled to write my own review. I had my puppy trained at Pro k9 Solutions and was blown away in every aspect of the experience. I do believe this is one of the best training facilities in the state and possibly the country. Proof this facility is one of the best that I can attest to is that while present I saw a staff member return from the airport with a dog from Minnesota flown here to be trained.**This facility is so amazing they even train police dogs to sniff bombs and narcotics.** That should be proof enough that their training methods actually work, unlike the one night a week pet training classes at lets say petco where you end up with a dog that only responds to treats or makes you feel like you or the dog can't handle or understand the class. I had nothing but positive experiences and encounters during the entire training process. Before training my dog was a literal nightmare, now she is completely off leash and a joy in the house even with company; all things we couldn't say about her prior to her time at Pro K9 Solutions. Kevin also trained her and he is the most knowledgeable trainer I've met to date, and I've dealt with many in my time. Before releasing her he made sure to explain everything we needed to know to enforce the training for life even though it took about an hour. *****A very enticing incentive is that after your dog has successfully finished their training course at Pro K9 you are welcomed into a very exclusive club of dogs eligible for boarding at this facility and they get a nice reminder of their training while there. Pro k9 doesn't board dogs that haven't been trained at this facility. If you need to board your dog immediately why not enroll the dog into a training program and come home to your dream dog and the ability of future boarding at this 5 star facility. *****I also really felt safely reassured that all employees are registered in basic pet healthcare, CPR, life saving procedures, and do not hesitate to take a dog to the vet any time of day if it's necessary. Progress videos are sent regularly, I loved getting to see my baby while she was away and seeing her improve more and more. The pristine facility is impressive in stature and functionality. I cannot wait to board my dog here some day, and am so happy I decided to get my dog trained at Pro K9 Solutions! I tell everyone I know with a dog to at least call and inquire if this facility has a program that is right for you and your pet. ****** RESPONDING to the "BLUE LIVES MATTER" post***** First a question, did you ever meet the owner who hung that poster because while there I only met trainers and staff members? I was told the owner is a retired sheriff and a military veteran. By hanging the poster this specific business isn't trying to make a political statement, alienate any individual or discourage any patronage, but rather as an effort to respect our country and the owners personal career history. I would also like to point out during my time there I never met the owner in person so his personal political views were never discussed nor did I feel the staff try to influence my opinion or advertise their views at any time. All they wanted was to train my dog to the best of their abilities. Other than the one little poster in the back corner their ideals about anything but dog training were very much nonexistent. This reminds me of the Chick-a-fillet dilemma. I still believe that my chicken sandwich doesn't care what your sexual orientation is, it's simply delicious. So even though my best friend is gay, I still enjoy my chicken sandwich guilt free as I'm secure in my own beliefs and know that eating a sandwich cannot influence my views. This principal carries directly to Pro k9. They are the best dog/AGGRESSIVE dog trainers around, sending your dog to get trained here does not put your dog in a dangerous position of adopting conflicting political views that oppose your own. It only puts your dog in the position to be trained by a team whose main concern is the welfare and finished product of your dogs training. It would be a shame for you to miss out on the opportunity to train your dog at this wonderful facility because emotions confuses dog training with politics. This business employs veterans, citizens of at least 3 different races and both males and females of varying ages. If the owner possessed the negative unpopular viewpoints that the other poster is implying I doubt you would find such a diverse and happy staff. I should note especially that my dog didn't come home displaying any racism, closed mindedness, wearing a MAGA hat or spewing appalling political views. She did however come home as a well mannered, respectable and manageable dog who I'm very proud to own! read more

We sent our Belgian Malinois here for 3 weeks.. we wanted to do the 6 weeks, but when we dropped our baby off, they had a brand new blue lives matter sign hanging in the lobby. That sign was not there when we dropped off our deposit. I would have did the 6 weeks + brought my other dogs here, but I was very uncomfortable with that sign and what it stands for. It's a shame that such a good training program is owned by people who think politics and "blue lives" are more important. This place is in Kenner so I guess their neighborhood agrees with their views. The head trainer, Kevin, is a gem!!! He trained us and our dog haha. If you are a blue lives matter type of person, this is the place for you. If you are like us and believe that a place of business shouldn't have that sign especially during these hard times for POC (read the room!!!), then please look elsewhere! Overall, good training program, but lack of customer empathy. read more
