Ann's positive approach and ability to tailor lessons on the fly to each dog's specific needs have made a world of difference in our lives. The group lessons help the dogs get comfortable around other people and dogs, and as owners you learn so much about your dog from seeing them react to others and also hearing other people's experiences and tips. We learned so much from our round of classes with dog #1 that we almost didn't feel the need to sign up for another round with dog #2 (you really learn to integrate training into your every day life) - but we decided to sign up again anyway and are so happy we did because we continue to learn something new every time. She saw my mother and I eagerly approach the kitty cubicles too coo and play with them and she brought back the kitten into his cubicle instead of placing him in the tent. She mean mugged us in the nastiest way and offered no assistance or introduction to any of the kittens or cat adoption program almost in a profiling way. I myself own two happy kitties and volunteer at a cat sanctuary in Texas, so it saddens me to have such an ugly and poor experience with an employee who is meant to facilitate the cat adoption and find these fur babies a loving home with nice families. Once my mother and I went to check out I saw her finally start to put the cats in their tents ready to display this unfortunately confirmed my suspicions that she was uninterested in helping us bond with the cats at all as she waited until we were leaving. A simple hello and welcoming smile when customers approach the cat adoption department goes a long way when establishing connections with potential foster families for cats and future owners.

Peace of Mind is bonded and insured. Ms. Creel is the proprietor and a Registered Veterinary Technician. She offers a couple of levels of service, visiting the house as needed or even sleeping over to care for pets. Ms. Creel met us at the house. She provide references and proof of insurance. We worked through a checklist of the dog's needs and habits. She then spent time with the dog. We agreed on a twice a day schedule to visit the house which included a substantial walk every evening. She also agreed to pick up the newspaper, mail and water a few plants. While we were away, Ms. Creel took great care of our shedding monster. She texted us regularly with updates, and left a running series of notes on how the day went. We have used Ms. Creel 3X in the past year and hope to continue using her. It is about twice the cost of boarding the dog which is well worth the peace of mind (no pun intended). I strongly recommend Peace of Mind and Ms. Creel. I was tols the trainers would work around my schedule, also false. They give you times & days they can show. I have a very specific thing I'd like my dog trained out of ( not the normal stuff you'd see in most dogs) and was told that wouldn't be an issue, but since having them, the trainer just doesn't seem to be that advanced. She is a nice lady and all but not the training I was looking for. Their prices are what mainly get you, for $1400/life compared to $2000+ for a course seems worth it, but it isn't. They only give 1hr sessions twice a week but your the one mainly doing all the work. I was under the impression (as they made it seem) that they would work solely with the dog, become aware of the issue and correct it and then slowly give you the lead on correcting it, 100% NOT the case. My dog had become extremely attached to my ex-girlfriend while we were together, and even after 1yr later, he has completely shutdown on going for walks and some other activities. Things he was never scared of before, scare him now. The trainer they have assigned to me is taking an approach like a normal case of fear but almost nothing is working. The worst part is that you can't cancel & get a refund. If you try to cancel, they switch your lifetime over to individual pricing and charge you per session, which is like $200ea making it far more costly then just keeping the lifetime service. The trainer should be able to come get your dog and be them 2 without you to learn the difficulty of what is happeningz figure out a solution, begin to train them out of it and then proceed to teach you what they are doing. Instead the trainer has you do most of the stuff but in my case, is not 100% what is going on. My dog use to be extremely confident in anything and loved walks no matter what, but now the sllightest popping noise to rain, he doesn't want to walk. I brought up its broken heart syndrome but they & other trainers I've spoken to don't believe it is. He is most of the time confident in going to the dog park but thats about it. I've tried all the normal things on my own but nothing goes through to walking. I'm at a loss on both quality of life with my dog and money from paying dog academy. If you want to work with them by all means go ahead, but know that if you say anything about them in a negative light they will not let it go. The professionalism from this company is in question. Let's talk about unprofessional. If a pet owner, or doggy mom, has questions or concerns with a tool or technique you should explain it to them. Not kick them out of class, publicly embarrass them and in the process use unnecessary force to make a point on an animal that did NOTHING wrong at that time. The way i was treated tonight by these "trainers" has me astonished and ashamed. I should have done more research. I should have protected my baby. And i should have stood my ground and asked for help from the dozen witnesses to the assault that happened on my dog. Do not ask questions if you want to stay and work with these people. Do not show concern or empathy when they physically jerk your dog onto pavement to show you why you need a choke collar. And do not at any point try to ask why. There was no reason in the womans eyes. I was not meant to work with her and she was not meant to work with my baby. If you are looking to train a protection animal by all means the force she used should work. If you are trying to train your pet, your child, your partner, look else where.

I can't believe I waited so long to post a review here! I adopted an adorable but troubled…read morebeagle/hound. He wasn't good on the leash, was fearful, hated noise, and even peed on my bed. They started working with him individually, and then with us together. I needed as much training as he did! Today, my Little Dude is well-behaved, loving, calm (most days), and very playful. There were days I worried that we weren't going to make it, but thanks to Taylor and Jio and their positive training methods, we couldn't be happier! We recently moved to Chicago and I know Stuart misses them! He's a great judge of character, and was always beyond excited to to see them. I hope we get to see them again soon.
