She had all the email and voice correspondence that this woman had with us, often through the receptionist. The place used to be awesome years ago. now they are just animal abusers causing injury by dragging around by the neck and do not feed appropriately. They think a tiny cup works with big kibble. Unfortunately, they do not answer the phones when you call. What could be worse for a pet parent? You can't even check up on your pet! I had to leave town on an emergency, but of course I could not reach them by phone to bring in my dogs. This left me to take my dogs to a different place. We have been using this boarding place for about 2 years now. Overall we love the faculties and the full size swimming pool for the pets. Our border collie loves coming here and it is evident in her behavior that she is treated well. We would have never thought about putting our dog here if it wasn't for the rave reviews by a friend of ours. The staff are very friendly and show that they love what they do. It is important that we feel safe leaving our dog with them. There is only 1 aspect of this business that needs improvement....the grooming scheduling. For some reason they cannot seem to get an accurate scheduling down. 2x now we called for a scheduled grooming session and both times when we showed up, it was either the wrong day or the groomer wasn't in. Today I went to drop off our dog for grooming and the groomer was apparently out til next week. You would think they would of known this and told me this when I scheduled. It is an extreme waste of time when you have to loss time working to drop off for a session that doesn't exist. Hopefully they will improve this procedure. Other than that, I have no other negative complaints so far. We have been using PP for 3 years now, from boarding to grooming. We are extremely happy with the new groomer and the groom he did on our family member 'Brita'. Review update: 7-14-2018 This recent experience wasn't a good one for us. I don't question their ability to take care of the pets left there, I question how they handle customer service and satisfaction. If anything, this last experience has shown me that they will treat you more like a business than a person. We were headed on a 8 day trip and couldn't take our dog along. We reserved a boarding 4 months in advance. My girlfriend insisted I call to confirm 2 weeks before we left, I'm glad we did, because our reservation had disappeared. So made another. Upon checking in, I confirmed the pricing of 44/day , left her food and instructions. After 3 years of using this place , we weren't too concerned. 3 days into our trip we started contacting Pet Paradise to see a photo or something uploaded onto their FB page so we could see her. No answer, we left 2 FB posts, 1 FB message and 1 phone message. No one got back to us and never responded back to any messages. By sat(today)when we arrived home , still no response. I went to pick up our pet and was given our bill. Apparently they tried to bill us for 2 days at a higher rate due to a holiday, which I didn't know there was one this week. The manager finally fixed it after trying to charge me 3x for an extra day. I informed them of our displeasure of not being able to see our pet during our trip and the response was, you have to pay extra to see your pet daily and pics are randomly selected for the FB page. I'm sorry, but after boarding for a whole week, you would think you could get at least one pic, since I saw repeated pics of the same pet posted. PET PRISON? The dogs here never play. I constantly check the cameras and rarely see dogs in the yard or by the pool. One day during doggy day care I was working from home and had the cameras pulled up on my extra monitor for the entire day. I only saw four groups of dogs go out, each one time. So, I paid to have my dog go out and play for less than twenty minutes (they say each play session is 20 minutes, but it definitely wasn't). I urge everyone to get on the webcams and see if your dogs are actually playing, or just in cages all day. I also think it's pretty ridiculous that you have to pay extra for doggy day care even though your dogs are boarded there. I'm not even confident that if I paid extra, my dog would get more play time. Every time I've paid extra for ice cream for my dog, but after seeing that the dogs don't get the play time I pay for, I doubt they give the dogs the ice cream I pay for. The manager, Cheri Duhon, doesn't have great customer service. I hope that she just loves dogs a lot more than people, but doesn't make you feel great when dropping off your fur baby. Morning staff were always great. All that being said, the facilities are nice and I like the indoor outdoor suites. If your dog doesn't love to play but just needs a safe spot to sleep while you're out of town, maybe not a bad option. But I just question the type of care the dogs are getting if they don't even care enough to give the dogs the play time we pay for. read more

We were super excited to drop out precious pups off here while we went on a 4 day vacation. When we picked our pups up (a boxer and Doberman not neutered) things seemed fine. But then then that evening they both had severe chemical burns on their testicles. My boxer, who is older, suffered from severe chemical burns on his testicles. Attached is the first day but the burn grew progressively worse. (I even carefully washed the area to try to remove the toxins). I ended up taking him to the vet and it was confirmed that his testicles had been exposed to something very bad. It got so bad that his entire sack was covered in purulence and scabs. It's taken two weeks for them to heal and he still has some scabs and is scarred there now. Poor thing !!! My Doberman has less incidence on his testicles but his paw was messed up. Seems like his paw was in the chemical and he chewed at it or something. He came home limping and whimpering! I'm so very very upset about this. I've been boarding my dogs for short trips for years and this has NEVER happened any where else. I am absolutely livid. I don't want my money back. I don't want anything from these people. But, I will leave an honest review. BEWARE!!! This place is pretty on the outside, but they will mess your pet up. This totally broke my heart. We really love and care for our furry friends in our household. Apparently these people didn't care for them at all, even when paying almost $400. read more

My daughter took her two dogs there for boarding over this Thanksgiving for a week. Called to pay for them so she could pick them up at her set time. I was on the phone for over 30 minutes the first time. 15 minutes the second time. Finally hung up and tried again. After the third time I put my number in the queue to be called back. Approximately 25 minutes later I did get a call back just to be rerouted and put on hold again. When I finally got a person on the line I asked to pay for them and asked that did both dogs did get their baths. ? They told me only one was schedule to get a bath. Said no and supposedly they are both getting their baths. Now for the final payment. Gave me the total and I asked is this including the law enforcement discount? No, I was told they do not give discounts. My daughter was told that they give law enforcement discounts. Nope they said. Hmmm well okay. There is a very lack of COMMUNICATION at this facility. Seemed very aloof to my asking questions and irritated. Needless to say her dogs will not be a returning customer. After boarding my two dogs there over the Memorial day weekend 2023 for two days, both were very sick. Both were traumatized. Both went to the vet with over $1000 worth of bills. I have a job that takes me away sometimes months at a time, especially during COVID, and without hesitation the PP Team supported me in every way possible. Our Labrador has been coming to daycare at Pet Paradise 5 days a week since July 2014 and he has loved every moment there. They have a spacious facility near the airport for maximum traveling convenience that offers plenty of room for 250 dogs to sleep, run and play. Each dog has their own suite with an inside area to nap and a small outside area so they have constant access to a bathroom. They take turns running around in the large play area in back and the staff is great about pairing dogs with others that suit their size and temperament. Our dog is a big fan of their in-ground pool where he loves to jump in and make a big splash! Is your furry creature of the feline sort? No worries because Pet Paradise also has a great cat room far away from the dogs in the front with a window to the outside and the lobby. Each cat gets its own tower with privacy to use the litter box and a big window to look out to the common cat area. Cats take turns lounging in the common area which is full of toys, scratching posts and two large cats trees. Staff often go in to make sure all cats are doing well and getting enough attention. We cannot say enough positive things about the staff at Pet Paradise! From the manager, Cheri, to each front desk and play coordinator, they genuinely care about the well being of each animal and do a great job communicating with pet parents. There is also a staff member on location 24/7 in case of emergencies so you can rest assured that your pet is always safe. I also want to add that Pet Paradise gives back to the community in a big way. Every time a natural disaster hit the gulf coast last summer, they collected food and other items for the animal shelters that were affected. When Florida residents had to evacuate, they were ready to accept theirs pets at a discounted rate in case their evacuation destination did not allow pets. On top of all the other things that I love about this resort, I can honestly say that they are good people and I feel good about giving them our money. read more

Its a shame that the manager is so rude and not cut out for a customer service position. She not only ruined it for us but also for any future clients that ask for my input and suggestions. Never have i been talked down to by ANYONE much less a business manager like she did. Sadly i had to keep my mouth shut because i preferred the Pet Paradise facility. Once she managed to run off other friends that used PP services, i didnt feel quite so alone. Whiskey gets excited as soon as we pull in Love this place I have an extremely active 9 month old GSP and she loves coming here. When I pick her up she is pooped which I love. She gets several play times in a big yard with toys and other dogs. They temperament test so I don't worry that she will be too much and hurt another dog or vice versa. This place is super clean and the staff very friendly and want to make sure your pet has a good experience. My favorite thing about Pet Paradise is they don't put your dog in a small kennel like other boarding places, they stay in a spacious running with outdoor access so they can move around all day long. I definitely recommend this place and plan to bring Whiskey there whenever we need to have her boarded or sometimes just to have a fun day while we are at work. read more

Pet Paradise saved our dogs life!!! We have always used pet paradise for our boarding needs... they are so nice and very accommodating. We moved here from Houston where we first heard of pet paradise and this location is the absolute best! I have always liked boarding Josephine instead of using an in home pet service. Recently we were flying out of town for a wedding and I booked her last minute instead of having family help out with the dog at home. Thank god she was there!!! She ended up having a flipped stomach and was immediately rushed to the hospital. The staff here is so very compassionate and knowledgeable about animals. They recognized her needs very quickly and jumped to action. After not being able to reach us they went out of their way and contacted our other family members to let them know what happened and what was going on. The surgeon quite frankly told me that the quick action of this boarding facility saved her and timing was everything. I thank all of them very much and would never choose another place to have our girl stay. read more

Peanut: a sassy stray terrier-mix from the streets of Las Vegas. There is not a nice way to put it, Peanut has got some issues. Common with rescue pets, she has severe separation anxiety. Leaving her alone at home causes her stress. Additionally, Peanut is a very dominant lady and is fussy over the dogs she will be friendly with. At 14-years-old, she is now an OLD, sassy, dominant, and fussy mutt. We try to include her on our travels whenever we can because Peanut hates being boarded. HATES. IT. However, there are some trips that just won't work with a pet and we found ourselves planning one of them. Thankfully, we found Pet Paradise. Upon our first look online, the cost turned us away as it was a much higher price than any competitor. However, after our extensive touring, we found out very quickly why PP charges what they do, and what junkhole Peanut would be stuck in if we opted to go cheap. The Pet Paradise tour was fantastic. We popped in unexpectedly so that no prep-work could be done and the staff was more than happy to show us around. The kennels are a great size, giving the pet kiddos plenty of room to walk around and stretch out. They all come with little cots and blankets to get the pups off the cool concrete (which I'm sure feels really good after a solid playtime in the Louisiana heat). Beds, blankets, and plushes from home are prohibited to avoid flea infestations, however thunder-coats are ok. Each kennel also has a little doggie door to allow your beloved pet to let himself out to his own private bladder-relief patio, instead of having to wait for designated walk times (at Peanut's age, this is a huge plus). Climate control keeps the pups cool and comfortable. There is also a special suite that is located in the front lobby, away from the main boarding area. I'm not sure of all the extra amenities included in the increased price, as Peanut is a not-fancy hobo. The yard outside is impressive. It is covered in astro-turf that is cleaned regularly. There is a pet-appropriate playground for those who like to climb, jump, and crawl through things. And of course, the infamous bone-shaped pool for the water-lovers. It looked very clean and well-maintained during our tour. We discussed with the staff that we were needing boarding for a little over a week and they highly recommended to make an appointment for a free day of day camp. This proved to be a very good thing as the staff was provided an opportunity to monitor Peanut's temperament toward the staff and other dogs. Peanut was placed in a play group with other dogs that fit in her "small & calm" category. This was completely and pleasantly surprising as we thought that fussy Peanut was going to need her playtime to be alone with a chaperone, isolated from other dogs. Another benefit of Peanut's introduction visit is that we picked her up later in the day (it was recommended to leave Peanut at day camp for at least three hours), training Peanut that we would pick her up from her future visits, relieving her anxiety that we were never coming back. When we arrived to retrieve Peanut from camp, she was pouncing around like a puppy and didn't want to come home and the staff gushed over how they adored her, which I am sure they do with all the fur babies. We were provided a report card indicating that her favorite thing was cuddling with the chaperone (which is SO Peanut) and she had even made a friend, a veteran day camper with whom she explored the grounds.The day camp experience sold us on Pet Paradise as the place that we NEEDED to board The Peazy (that's Peanut's rap name). Boarding was a breeze. They knew her when we walk through the door (I'm guessing they peek at her profile with her name and photo, but it is a nice personal touch). We paid a little extra to drop her off during early-hours so we could make our flight. They had all our information from the day camp visit so all we had to do was give feeding instructions (PP was super comfortable with the raw meat diet we brought) and say goodbye. We were able to enjoy our vacation with confidence that The Peazy was having a blast and being well taken care of. When we returned from our vacation, Peanut's joy confirmed that we were right in choosing Pet Paradise as our boarding facility. Her reaction to boarding at PP was a night-and-day difference from the usual shivering, tail between the legs, scared pup we have almost always encountered after a boarding sesh. Our happiness soared as the staff made comments about Peanuts behaviors and preferences, proving they truly paid her time and attention. We have since taken Peanut back to Pet Paradise for day camp and grooming, with great results. She actually gets a bit excited when we leave the house, thinking we are taking her to "the fun place". I'm pretty sure she hates living with us now. read more

My cat is 16 years old and can't use one of her back legs. This limits her jumping to 0. Not that she can't she shouldn't. She can't stay home without constant care so I visited six vet boarding facilities with a variety of prices and cages. I decided on Pet Paradise since they have a room that is just for cats. The cats get time outside the condos twice a day. There is also a camera so I could view my kitty from the other side of the world. When I saw a couple things I wanted changed, it was done immediately. No place is perfect, but these folks try. I will bring my cat here again, because I know she will be taken care and given the special care she needs. read more

The facility is immaculate & a beautiful campus that is like a 5 star spa resort for your fur children. I've been using Pet's Paradise for boarding my dogs for years - I have two Catahoulas and they are very familiar with Pet's Paradise. The dogs get their own hammock bed when it's bedtime, which is great! Each kennel has an outdoor run attached to it, so the dogs can go outside when they need to (and the doors are unlocked). The dogs also have a dog bone shaped pool they can take a dip in and a large play yard in the back. My dogs don't like other dogs, they are old and cranky, so they usually play alone in the yard. The staff at Pet's Paradise are very sweet - they really seem to look after my dogs. I had to keep my boys there for 3 months while I was renovating my house, and the dogs were fine. They got special treatment and were pet's of month, for one of those months. I've seen some of the staff at the store, and they remembered me and my dogs and have asked about them. I would highly recommend Pet's Paradise for boarding your dogs! read more

First of all you cannot beat the location for out of town trips. They're located near the airport so it makes it so easy to leave my dog on out of town trips! They've opened their new building, I was a little disappointed when prices went up, but they've got some great specials on doggy day camp. There are other great doggy day camps in the New Orleans area, but my dog doesn't like other dogs, I feel like the staff at Pet Paradise accommodates this. They sold me when the last time I walked in the managers daughters were disappointed I was picking him up because they were having fun playing with him!!! read more

My rat terrier behaved much better after a weekend at Pet Paradise. For an entire day, he did not follow me around. He was able to stay in the living room by himself while I completed chores. He eventually returned to his old self, who is filled with separation anxiety but I appreciated the short break. Also, since he returned home, he has been following my command of, "Go to bed." Or I can just say "bed' and he goes straight to his bed instead of jumping on mine. I am taking him back tomorrow night as I have a trip this weekend. Finally, the progress report warmed my heart and I look forward to seeing what he does next time around. read more

If I could I would give no stars, I never have to board my dogs because I always have someone watch them but on tis occasion my dog watcher was unable to. I brought both of my dogs to Pet Paradise while I was out of town. Both of my dogs stayed at Pet paradise for only 2 days. My son was the one to picked up both of my dogs, on the way home from college when the dogs were brought from the back to him he noticed they were wet. My son asked them why are the dogs wet, the guy behind the counter said the dogs were playing in their water bowl. My dogs don't like playing in water, walking in water, or being in the rain for that matter, and they have NEVER played in their water bowl before. When my son went to pick up my small female dogs which is a Shitzu and a Yorkipoo to put them in his truck he said it wasn't water it was URINE! So clearly they were peed on by some other male dogs to be that wet. My son then went back in the facility and told them, they said nothing but sorry. As soon as my son got in his truck he called me, I immediately called them from out of town and they said someone will get back to me and I all I got was we are sorry. THAT WAS IT! Nothing after that. My dogs were supposed to be in the same kennel together. So I am really unsure of how they were peed on, unless they were with male dogs because they were wet from their backs down. My poor son had to go home and bathe both dogs from all the urine that they had on them, then go clean his truck from them being wet and full of urine. Absolutely sad! read more
