This place is extremely accommodating. I was nervous about bringing our dog there and leaving him alone for the first time since I've had him but Pet Paradise was nice enough to text when my dog was outside so I could watch him on the cameras through their app. They even took the price of the app off the bill. We have boarded our three dogs at Pet Paradise for many years and they seem to always enjoy their stay. The staff is friendly and knows our "kids" by name and give us a review of any behavior problems. It is a clean facility, reasonable price considering they are not in a caged kennel and get free time running around instead of on a leash. Boarded my dog for 5 days. Per instructions, we packaged individually all of her meals with her own dog food, supposedly using a cup scooper is difficult... Brought dog for stay and submitted all of the individually packaged feedings along with a toy for the 5 night stay. First of all, this is the only pet daycare that i've been to that boards the dogs and only allows for 2x 20 minute play sessions per day. Others, Camp Bow Wow and Canine Connection, allow the boarding dogs to play along with general daycare dogs all day... And for slightly cheaper. I did receive emails 'from my dog' about how great of a time she had along with pictures of her playing jn a pool... But i also know that her happiness of swimming was brief during her 24/5 stay. When we returned to pick up my dog, we were given the bag that we submitted during checkin. Upon leaving, we noticed that the bag looked completely untouched.. Toy dry and 10 individually labeled bags of food unopened. I immediately called and questioned wether my dog was fed and how unsettling it was to have returned from a trip and spending nearly $250 for boarding with only 40min/day playing and now having to wonder about the care of my dog. I was forwarded to a manager who stated that she was fed and inquired who checked her in because it must have been put in the computer wrong. Which goes to my point that no one cared to look into the bag because you can plainly see 10 labeled bags of food. The manager then proceeded to state that she was fed their food, IAMS, and that there must have been an issue with checkin. No solutions, discount, alternatives, etc to make up for the 5 day deviation from my dogs diet which we supplied the necessary feed for, nor any understanding that my animal's stomach of Blue Buffalo meals that she has had her entire life may not sit well with the random spike of Iams... The customer service response was pathetic in regards to resolving an issue. Unless everywhere else is booked up again, we will never return and deter others as well... Actually if everywhere is booked, we'll probably just have friends feed her and throw the ball a couple of times... She'll get the same amount of play and eat the food we provide... Not to mention saving $250. read more

Used to be a great place. Never had any issues until recently. Both of my dogs came back throwing up, tried to call, no call back. My boxer contracted kennel cough, which costs us 130+ for her treatment and physical exam. I have been told by an outside source that her dogs vaccine records were never checked. So beware and make sure you are taking your dog to a place where vaccine records are throughly assessed or your dog may end up getting kennel cough like ours. read more

We brought our Sadie in right before Mardi Gras, and I was a little apprehensive because we've only had Sadie for about 1 month (she's 11 months old and we adopter her), and I was nervous about how Sadie would react and how the staff would react. The staff was amazing! They welcomed her like she was a family member and they really made me and my son feel very comfortable that we were leaving her there for a week. I've been to other boarding places in the past (with our other pets), and I can definitely say Pet Paradise was the most welcoming and they truly seemed to LOVE animals. Pet Paradise took such good care of our baby. She came home exhausted, so I know she was occupied while we were gone. Everyone there from the manager to the receptionist knew her name, and genuinely cared about her. We'd never left her with anyone but family before, and they helped to ease our and our furbaby's anxiety. Our puppy is a picky eater, and they were proactive in using methods to help her eat, even being in the room with her while she ate. We will definitely be using Pet Paradise in the future and our baby can't wait to visit her friends there soon! I can't recommend them enough! read more

Disgusting facility with staff who don't listen to what you want for your dog. Feeding instructions don't get done right and the manager is absolutely rude which can be seen in previous reviews by other customers in the past, literally just look further. I don't even feel safe bringing my dogs here and I'm pretty sure my dogs never got out. I'd suggest no one go here and find other accommodations elsewhere because there are so many better boarding facilities like Canine Connections or Pawlins. I had never boarded my fur babies and was super anxious to leave them anywhere. Pet Paradise was the only place I found (it was a last minute need) that could accomodate both my 130lbs presa canario and a non-dog friendly pit. There was a mishap with the room (I reserved the suite but it was double booked) but they took full responsjbility and we paid $0 for the entire stay. The babies stayed in a kennel room but were treated as suite dogs. THEY LOVED IT! The reports they send daily gave me and my husband peace of mind and we were able to enjoy our anniversary small vacation. Already booked them for our next trip! read more

Not many places are willing to accommodate dogs that can't place nice with others. They give her special one on one playtime (or with her buddy when I had two that played well). Also very few places offer the extended hours, even weekends, and especially without charging for the entire day. These people are fantastic! We booked them to keep our babies during Endymion. We called our vet to make sure their records were up to date and send them to pet paradise. When we arrived to drop off the pups, we discovered that not only had our vet NOT faxed the records over, but the dogs were also due for their Bordetella! Pure panic. We live in Baton Rouge, everywhere was booked, and everyone we knew at home was in Nola for the weekend. We couldn't find a place open to give the their vaccinations, and had to rely on a nearby family friend to do us a HUGE favor and keep the dogs. I knew Pet Paradise had a policy of not refunding the deposit, so didn't even ask them to. They were all very nice there. I explained our solution, told them sorry for the extra work, and left. Later that evening, we got a phone call from them saying that they were refunding our deposit, since we showed up ready with the dogs and the mix up wasn't our fault. I thought that spoke volumes and really appreciate their kindness. I'll definitely take the pups back in the future! read more

We used to board our fur kids here whenever we fly cos it's right next to the airport. We thought we had found a gem until their last stay. One of my dogs came back with sores all over his sanitary area . It was so bad that it took couple of months to heal. We have not taken them back since. My husband and I decided to give this place a try to board our 1 year old catahoula. Their prices are higher than normal vets but worth it in my opinion. Nella had her own patio and play time with other dogs and we even ordered her ice cream. We will definitely be using it again. read more

My dog has stayed here several times, and the facility is beautiful, but the customer service (with the exception of the manager Sherri) is just not up to par with the prices they charge. The first time I boarded my lab here, everything went perfectly, and she was there for almost 2 weeks. The second time, we were going out of the country and ordered the forever connected package which is supposed to include daily photos and updates of your pet. After receiving no photos or updates, I was forced to keep calling and paying astronomically from Paris to New Orleans to check on the dog. The forever connected charge was removed from my bill when I went to pick up my dog, but the excuse I was given was "oh, the guy who takes the photos was off." Well why offer the package if you know the guy won't be here?? The last time she stayed here, it was a total trainwreck. First, i repeatedly confirmed with staff that i would he dropping off early, since i had an 8 am flight (this is a service they offer by appointment for an extra charge) and the lights were off with no one home when i arrived.... Then, several days later they called 3 times in a row and left a voicemail saying I needed to call them. I call, panicked, from out of the country, paying insanely for the call, to hear that my dog is now in heat. I told them when I dropped her off that she was in heat. The girls response on the phone is then "oh, I'm glad you knew, now she will be going out solo for the rest of her trip." She should've been going out solo the whole time, since she is not fixed and doesn't really like other dogs. For God's sake, the dog's hotel cost me the same per night as my airbnb in Puerto Vallarta, the least they could do is not let her come back pregnant.... they really need to get it together. read more

A few years ago I left my two labs in the care of Pet Paradise. Bud was a 12 year old black lab with no health issues. Jake was a 3 year old yellow lab. I told them they could stay in the same kennel but had to be separated during meals because Bud would hog the food. Two days into our vacation I got a call from a Pet Paradise manager in Texas saying Bud was dead. They had separated them " per my instructions" and found Bud dead outside the kennel after only 10 minutes. Common sense would dictate that a 12 year old black lab should not be put out in the August heat the 3 year old yellow would take the heat better or put one of them in a spare kennel. The manager wanted to have a autopsy done to find the cause of death. I was ok with it. The autopsy revealed his heart was ok and he had food in his stomach. If he was sick he wouldn't have eaten. Then the manager wanted to send my dog to LSU to have more tests done. I told him no that my baby has suffered enough. They paid to have him cremated and sent me his ashes. I'm lookin at him now as I write this. Common sense would say they left him in the heat for more than 10 minutes. I told the manager to have someone of authority look at the video of the hallway to see when someone went to let him out and see how much time passed when they went back to let him in. After that he quit answering my call and wouldn't return my calls. This lab was a member of my family an slept at the foot of my bed read more

Our 12 year old Chocolate Lab has been enjoying Pet Paradise for more than 6 years. She enjoys swimming in the bone shaped pool and playing with the small dogs. The staff know her and this is important to her human friends. read more

Do not hesitate to utilize this facility. We always receive excellent, professional, and polite service. They send us picture and text updates of our pups. Our dogs love staying here. They get to go swimming, eat ice cream, and play a lot. We also get them groomed and bathed before pick up. Our dogs love~ love~ love Pet Paradise.....Our Shepherd, Charley enjoys the pool and our little guy Corbin has a blast interacting with the other dogs. Manager Cherie and staff have always been caring and accommodating. The only thing I would suggest is that they try to post pics of all the dogs and cats boarding with them. My pets stay a lot and I never see them on FB, but see tons of other pets...They always tell me how wonderful my dogs and kitty are, but no photos (unless I pay for them to be sent in an email, which i have done) but I want mine to be as important as anybody elses, I'm proud of them :) ....overall, i can't think of any other place I would take my pets for boarding in the area, its very convenient if flying out of MSY and not sooo far out of the way if your aren't. I also like that they have a rewards program through flok and are very involved in fundraising and taking in donations. read more

I would have given this establishment one star but because the morning staff that greeted us at pick-up were pleasant I'll gladly give two stars. We dropped off our furry babies on Wednesday night on November 23, 2017, after being on the rode for 12 hours. I have always been greeted, in the past and no matter what time, by friendly and courteous Pet Paradise staff members. However, this evening we were greeted with rudeness and unprofessionalism. The manager, Cheri Duhon and the assistant manager, Sean Rogers were both there and surprisingly they were the individuals displaying very poor customer service. I was asked by Sean if we had our dog's shot records but his tone was rude and demanding. We have not utilized Pet Paradise for maybe two years or more and we were not aware of the new policy (effective August 2017) that you could not bring personal items for your pets. Additionally, we weren't made aware of this upon check-in. So when I asked if my dogs could use their own bowls I was answered by Cheri with an attitude and snappy response as though I was a child that she was chastising. Without knowing about the new policy, I was trying to explain that my dogs, typically, will not eat out other bowls than their own. Cheri, rudely, replied that if there was a problem "we'll call you." My husband then pointed out the paper taped to the counter that highlighted the new policy. Which no one still had made reference to....if they would have in the beginning I would have understood instead of having an unnecessary exchange with a manager that clearly does not understand the meaning of quality customer service. When Cheri took our dogs to the back I expressed my displeasure with how we were treated to Sean and he never once stopped what he was doing, give me eye contact and act like an assistant manager by addressing the issue. I was so upset that I truly did not want to leave my dogs. Unfortunately it was a holiday and I had no other choice but to leave them; from the beginning we never felt welcomed. For the sake of future clientele, I hope Cheri and Sean brush up on their customer service skills or this establishment will continue to receive reviews like this. read more

Once again when we picked up Sunny from her stay at Pet Paradise she was reluctantly to leave even though she was happy to see us. Her response to be reluctant to leave indicated how happy she was while staying at Pet Paradise. All those hands to pet her, all her four legged friends to run with, and, of course, "her" pool.
