At that time, she made an appointment for me to return the next week at 1 PM for a meet and greet with my dog. I called to say I was running late and Jay said "there must have been some sort of miscommunication. We don't do meet and greets between 12 noon and 2 PM. I've never splurged on doggy day care, but I needed a place to board my dog, and Dogtopia is right on the way to the airport, so I checked them out and Izzy may become something of a regular. The process for boarding is a meet & greet day care session to make sure your dog will get along with other dogs, and they suggest another day or two before boarding so your dog is comfortable there before staying overnight. They said Izzy did great, and she was worn out from playing when she got home. How do I know? They have an app and web cams in each area, so you can watch your dog from your phone. Every time I watched, there was an attendant in the area, either playing with the dogs or cleaning (or both). Everyone in the place clearly loves dogs, and they're consistently bubbly and cheerful. I was having trouble getting registered for the app, and one of the guys there was waiting to help me when I walked in to pick my dog up from the meet & greet. Izzy stayed four nights and came home clean, happy and tired. They also do baths, nail trims, and tooth brushing, which I forgot to ask for while she stayed, but I'll do that next time I make her a play date. read more

My dog Callie has been going to daycare for a few months and she absolutely loves it. I highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking to socialize their pup and she gets ALOT of her energy out there. When I pull up in the parking lot she knows she's about to go to school and she runs to the door to go see her friends. I know she loves it and I see the coaches interacting with her throughout the day the entire time she's there. 10/10 would always recommend! We (stupidly) waited until the last minute to board our baby for a trip, and Dogtopia had last-minute openings and allowed us to have the introduction appointment the same day as the boarding started. I hate I can't remember the name of the woman (blonde hair) at the front desk because she is fantastic. She was always so kind and reassuring about Pennie Lou's stay. She even made sure to text us picture updates :) We loved watching the dogs play while away, and that handlers constantly monitored their play. Pennie girl came back about 10 pounds lighter (thankfully since we were in trouble by our vet for her weight), so I know she got her to playtime in. The way the woman at the front desk spoke to me and my partner about Pennie Lou alone made us want to come back. I think a signup for day visits is in Pennie's future. We now have one exhausted pup. A true life-saver, I don't know what my wife and I would do without Dogtopia. Our VERY energetic pup goes twice a week and comes home BEAT (in the best way imaginable) every time. Not only are we free to go about our day when she's at daycare, but she's exhausted (and much more manageable) for about the next day and a half after each visit. Recently started using their daycare and boarding services. I don't know how it took me this long to find out how awesome this place is. Spectacular care for my fur baby. I love being able to watch my pup on the webcams. He always looks so happy and comes home ready to nap! He also gets excited when I tell him he's going to "camp". I will never bring my dogs here again for so many reasons. I should have went with my first instinct but decided to give it a try. The cameras for whatever reason kept going out- I doubt it was the wifi as stated, in fact we were told on pickup that they were off because she didn't have time to turn them back on- really, we know you weren't busy giving water to our dogs since they came home and drank almost a gallon- no exaggeration on that. They ignored emails and texts after the first one. No wonder they had availability. The other 2 in the gno area are so much better just have to remember to book early. read more

Sent my dog there yesterday and he came home with a huge gash and puncture on his side. No explanation and was told no one noticed it. My dog is shaved down and very white and the wound was somehow clean with dried blood at the base and the vet agreees someone must have cleaned the area prior to me seeing it. Very disappointed and concerned with lack of concern and supervision at this place. Do not send your dog here unless you want mystery wounds and vet bills for injured dogs. read more

I am so glad I found Dogtopia! They are by far my favorite doggie day care in the New Orleans area. Compared to similar businesses, the daily price for a full day of day care is a little higher at $29 for a full day, however, I personally believe the facilities are nicer, and a big plus is that the play groups are much smaller. Every time I walk in to drop off Maggie for the day we are welcomed by the front desk attendant who already recognizes my dog and is quick to call in an escort to the play room. I am able to watch my dog throughout the day via the Dogtopia app which is a great feature! As an overprotective pet parent, I am always skeptical whenever trying a new business for my dog. I can confidently say that Dogtopia is very trustworthy. I am very impressed by this facility and will continue to utilize their services. read more

No wonder it was the only dog boarding place in the area available two days before Memorial Day weekend. The general manger is very very rude. When I first went in to pick my dogs up she was arguing with a customer and then when I had issues of my own, she did not book my dogs stay after telling them the dates on 3 separate occasions, she made up things that I "said" instead of simply taking care of it. The customer service is horrible, she yelled at me on the phone and hung up on me when I was speaking. The webcams also never work and the daycare is overcrowded. read more

I am not one to typically write a review, but I must share how amazing the team is at Dogtopia. I was unfortunately out of town, on a family vacation, as Hurricane Ida was approaching South, LA. Our Dog Stella was boarded at the time. Of course, we were incredibly nervous as the airport shut down and we had no way to get her prior to the storm. The communication from the staff rested my mind at ease. They sent me constant updates, pictures, and were super friendly and nurturing. I was blown away! DO NOT BOARD YOUR DOGS HERE. We boarded our dogs two times (two separate weekends) and both times they came home with an awful kennel cough. This latest time caused our lab to hospitalized for severe pneumonia. When we questioned dogtopia about what happened, they said yes the cough is going around their facility, but they are not currently notifying dog owners of the spread. Our ten year old lab now has a fever of 106 and will be hospitalized for days. Yet Dogtopia claims no responsibility. Their facility is either not cleaned properly or the dogs are left out in the cold and rain. I will be seeking legal action. Please protect your pets! read more

I like that she took my remarks to heart and spoke about some possible changes in their communication with clients at the meet and great. Like I said, the place was cleaner with dozens of dogs than some houses I've been in with two dogs. Accidents were picked up right away and they cleaned every crate after use. Our Lucy just LOVES Dogtopia New Orleans! She usually goes once a month, but missed December and January because she was waiting to get spade. When she was finally able to return on 2/10/21, she was OVER THE MOON EXCITED! I watched her on the feeds and she was enjoying herself soooo much! The staff was interacting with her and she felt like the queen she thinks she is! When we picked her up, a staff member told us that she was "a wild one today!" LOL. Needless to say, from the time we got her home, all she did was sleep! Total exhaustion! The next morning, she "thought" she was going again and was trying everything she could to get to the car when I was leaving for work. Ha ha. She was literally yapping and wailing enough to wake up my husband when I left! Needless to say, she absolutely LOVES this place! We are taking her back Saturday - yes, she is spoiled rotten! We have boarded our dog at Dogtopia multiple times in the past with mostly no issues, but after our latest experience here we will never return. We boarded our dog for three days and returned to receive her in a traumatized, stressed and overwhelmingly exhausted condition. She had defecated in her bed and her entire backside was covered in her own feces - her whole body reeking of it. The feces were simply left in her bed, smeared everywhere when they handed it back to us. She had been sleeping in this. We found multiple scars and scabs on her nose, and upon bringing her home she began to vomit and defecate blood (later diagnosed as stress colitis, which I understand is common). Our dog has NEVER experienced anything like this before, and is not new to boarding. Upon speaking with the manager via phone, she offered no apology whatsoever and instead tried to blame this experience on the fact that our dog was just stressed out (what does that say about the kind of environment Dogtopia provides for their dogs?). She claimed she would check the camera footage regarding the feces being left in the bed and would get back to us - but we never heard back. Totally and completely shady. My wife and I have always appreciated the friendliness of the front-end staff, but it is clear that there are some blatantly negligent practices taking place behind the scenes. This is NOT the kind of place you want to trust with your dog - avoid this place entirely and take your business elsewhere. read more

Disappointed at the lack of attention actually given to the dogs while boarded. I had assumed this would be an improved option compared to traditional boarding because the dogs are able to play free during the day and would receive attention of some kind from the workers. However while watching the cameras I saw my dog cowering in a corner at all times. The workers continually clean the kennels which is great- but they do not pet/care for the dogs at all while in there which was a misconception of mine. They don't get taken out at all which means they use the bathroom all over the floor which my pet is not accustomed to doing. She came home with a soiled bed and needed a bath immediately. In retrospect I should have used an in-home pet sitter for the cost of what I paid for dogtopia and will get the care and service I had expected my dog to receive. read more

Two separate accidents that occured here has caused me to eliminate Dogtopia as an appropriate dog daycare center. The first accident (see pictures below) occured within the first couple of weeks while my dog attended Dogtopia (March 2020.) I was notified by staff only while picking my dog up on the afternoon of the accident. They claim he was attacked by another dog after their nap. I gave them the benefit of the doubt without asking for too much detail (my fail.) The second incident occured just a little over a week ago August 2020) where this time I was called by staff and told that my dog instigated a scruffle with another, and that I should consider keeping my dog away from Dogtopia for a couple of weeks (very unprofessional approach if you ask me.) I asked managment to show me on the video webcam how this occured. I was told in no uncertain terms that this was not an option, as it was against company policy to allow this. Therefore, it was their word against my dogs, again unfortunate and unprofessional policy if true. An additinal con is that while they were overseeing the dogs at play time it could become unnerving while viewing on the webcam. The one pro that I had is that the staff is friendly. read more
