I've taken my dog here for grooming and a few walk-in nail trims and have had excellent service. My dog needs a wash, ears cleaned and nails trimmed about once a month and other groomers I saw were charging $80+ and I wasn't amazed by the service. The price is great at Petco and the add on services are very reasonable. I was hesitant to come to Petco, but have had nothing but positive experiences. They give an estimate of how long it will take, usually 1-2 hours but they always finish sooner. My dog is nervous to go in, but they always say that he has good behavior. He comes out clean and they do a fantastic job on his nails. They trim and buff and get them way shorter than any other groomer I've been to without and nicks or injury. I love that they started giving out report cards so I know how my dog did. Outside of grooming, my store experiences have also been wonderful. They have definitely expanded inventory over the past few years and carry many more healthy dog food and treat options from smaller brands. we took our dog in because she was having accidents inside, which is unusual for her. the vet wanted to write it off as her being nervous about me being pregnant (i've been pregnant since one month after adopting her, so it's definitely not new or unusual for her) but after we insisted on a urinalysis, turns out we were right: she has a UTI! they waited until 5:50pm to call us with the results, and when we said okay we are 5 minutes away we'll come in now to pick up the prescription, the old man on the phone said "well we're already starting to pack up since we close at 6" we said we understand, but could they just let us come pick up the medication since 1. they have it ready, 2. we could get there before closing, and 3. i'm literally being induced to give birth tomorrow (and will likely be indisposed for several days) but no compassion was extended. they closed early and told us to go to cvs or walmart (who also close at 6). we drove all the way to a 24 hour cvs pharmacy just to find out THEY DONT CARRY ANIMAL SPECIFIC PRESCRIPTIONS!!!!!!!! so how could they improve? maybe stay open until the actual time you're meant to close, or don't wait until the last possible minute to notify someone when you're prescribing a dogs-only drug! now not only do i have to worry about undergoing a major medical event, i have to worry about my puppy being in pain as well. read more

This is for the grooming review. Grooming at Petco is such a great deal because for every 8th grooming, it is free. The prices are also cheaper than a lot of other groomers. I paid about $80 for a full grooming, $90+ with tip. Luckily I found Briana C. She came thru on my request for how I wanted my dog to look. It's also nice that they text you reminders for your appointment and when to pick your dog up. Parking here is great since there's a big parking lot. In terms of shopping for dog food, I do not recommend Petco. Their prices are typically higher than Petsmart or other retailers. For example, royal cabin beauty is $3.29 per can there while it is $2.79 at Petsmart. read more

This Petco is convenient to where I live so it's where I usually go. The people that work here are great and there are never parking issues which is also a bonus. Plus the store is sparkling clean! I do get frustrated because a lot of the items that I'm specifically looking for seem to be regularly out of stock. I'm not sure if it's supply chain issues but I do get frustrated about it. They also have a vet located inside and I have not tried this vet yet, but I hear it's very good, so I'm planning to switch over from the vet that I had been using. This Petco is conveniently located on Sports Arena Blvd and has both a grooming salon and a Vetco. They also have pet training classes, small pets for sale, a good variety of pet foods, pet clothes, leashes/collars and whatever else you might need for your beloved pet. I pop in here every couple of weeks for Freshpet nuggets to top my pittie's kibble. My one struggle is that they don't always have the same products available, either because they're sold out or just not stocked, so I had to get a different type of Freshpet for her this time. I've also gotten her treats, toys, and other kinds of toppers here. Prices are generally on the higher side. They do have the Petco Rewards program but I've found that the rewards expire quickly and they're not always easy to access or use. So that's a bit annoying. The store is generally clean, there's plenty of parking, and the staff is helpful and friendly. While I do have a few minor gripes about the store, it has more positives than negatives. Very disappointing experience. I had an appointment for my dog at 7:00 AM, but when I arrived, the shop was closed and the sign said it opens at 9:00 AM. There was no one inside and no notice explaining the situation. I came back at 8:00 AM, and instead of helping, I was told they couldn't take my dog because I was "1 hour late." This was very confusing and unfair, since I arrived on time for my original appointment and the shop was not open. Poor communication and lack of flexibility. Today 29Aug25 I had an appointment for my dogs grooming. Being Labor Day weekend I fully expected the store to be busy and it was for sure. Due to the long weekend I was unable to secure an appointment at my local Petco so Sports arena was the only one with availability. The drop off went well, and I informed the staff that due to my dogs age her back hips and legs are not as Strong as they use to be and has difficulty on smooth surfaces. I also gave them my number to call if there were problems and when she was ready for pickup. Of course to no fail there was an issue or what they believed to be an issue. Apparently my dog was not able to or was not willing to stand long for the bath. They called my wife who was at work (the reason I gave them my number) to state the issue and it would take 20-30 mins more. They also stated that this is a problem for them as it takes away from other customers appointments! You need to have her seen by a private groomer! The Petco I normally go to never has the issues you claim! I'm sorry that my dog is a senior and needs a little more attention! Want to add that in the questioner before scheduling no where does it ask, is your dog older, bad joints! It's not a medical issue it's being old! If they went to the hair dresser and it too you a while to get in the seat, how would your feel if you were told your old status is interfering with business! Then I go to pay, on the app there is a 20% for Labor Day. So I bring it up and they cashier scans it and states "you can't you this for grooming" in a very unprofessional way! I stated no where in the app or the special does it say cannot be used with grooming! Says in store purchases! Unbelievable, oh and because she scanned it I no longer have the 20% off! How does that even work! Store scans, but isn't applied to my sale but yet I lose the 20% all together! If you place delivery orders it appears the delivery company is Door Dash. The continually deliver to wrong address. Once again today ordered about $80.00 worth of stuff. Called Petco basic outcome was that this happens a lot at my address and they would not replace or refund the order. I said they continue to have Door Dash deliver, not my fault. The people may not speak English that they hire many of but one should be able to read numbers, obviously not. If you live in a condo or apartment do not order delivery from Petco. I have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars since I started using Petco. I have 3 very spoiled dogs. I finally walked by complex and found the bag from Petco but no frozen dog food in it. We have been a loyal Petco shopper and been paying for the vital care membership for years because of the discounts and free vet visit. Turns out they no longer include the free visit anymore and on top of that they tried to scam us from receiving our rewards today. I don't usually feel comfortable blaming individuals but Daniel, their vet manager was extremely difficult and rude today. He charged us an extra $30 even though he expressed that we received our membership discount for the vet visit even after we verbally asked. When I went home, I reviewed my receipt, noticing that he did not include my rewards. When I returned he tried arguing with my husband that we do not have the rewards and wasted over 20 minutes of our time reviewing the receipt, leaving few minutes to review quoted price and was basically saying that we are lying. He cursed a few times and even quoted "....until my staff opened their big mouths". I feel bad for the other employees who have to work with him because he was not friendly at all. Also I went to the self-grooming station and they didn't properly clean the station because I left with an allergic reaction and couldn't see out of my eyes. I'm a regular shopper at Petco. It's not because it is such a great store, but it is the closest pet supply to my home. We don't have our own dog right now, but have been fostering for over two years now. I spend lots of money at Petco because it seems we always need something. In general, they meet our needs, but sometimes they just don't get regular shipments of dog food. I suppose one could argue that it's tough to get shipments of anything these days, but it is always hit or miss and whenever I ask, they can never tell me which food they are planning to get or when. It has been frustrating. I also used to love the different display of dog toys and attire at every holiday. In mid-pandemic, I was able to get a lamb chop toy for every holiday. For the past several months, there have been hardly any holiday-related toys. When I do need help, the employees who help are very nice. However, it has been difficult to find employees in the store to ask. In general, I have been able to pick up grooming supplies, vitamins, poop bags and chews. I do wish it were a bit more reliable in other areas. I have not used their grooming or training services so I cannot comment. read more

She was unprofessional to the customers before me, but when it was my turn in line I greeted her with a smile whipe she ignored me only to help a person who just happened to walk up from the exterior door. The customer was checking in a dog with an appointment, so I was patient for about 3 min until my dog began shaking from the stress. She couldn't find the information for the customers before me and it seemed she was having the same issue with this line cutter. I politely asked if it would be possible to quickly verify my information as I was in line before them. She was immediately extremely condescending and claimed she "didn't see me" and pointed to the sign on the front of her computer about verifications taking 10+ min (they have to input the information in the computer and print out a card, likely doesn't take that full time. it took 2 minutes at the petsmart down the street lol). I said, "I'm sorry but I was in line and we made eye contact when you were helping the last guest so I know you saw me. Is there a way for it to take less than 10min to verify?"...only for her to tap the paper on the outside of her screen again. The space in front of her desk is about 2 feet, there's no way she acknowledged me nonverbally only to bold face lie and say she didn't see me. My dogs health comes before her ego. She shouldn't be the face of the clinic if she's that irresponsible with customers and their information. We all have bad days, it's unacceptable to bring it to work in that fashion. read more

We have taken our two puggles to Petco grooming at various locations before and have been overall satisfied. When the estimated time was 1.5-2 hours for a standard bath it seemed excessive but I figured they were just providing a cushion. Come to find out their dedicated appointment time was interrupted for lunch breaks and they were crated in the meantime. I never would have agreed to this considering my dogs have anxiety at the groomers, which many do. At other businesses it is an expectation that with an appointment, their session is uninterrupted and lasts about 1 hour considering they are 20 pounds each. After speaking to the store directly, the customer service was terrible. Apparently you can select a 'VIP grooming session' at an added cost for an uninterrupted session-again this was never explained. It should not be up to the customer to read the fine print for something that is a standard elsewhere. The ironic part is Petco's prices are comparable at other locations with groomers who actually appear to enjoy their jobs. Overall Petco's lack of transparency and professionalism is why we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Avoid Liz A in grooming at all costs. Caucasian, Blond Dread locks and straight brown drawn in eyebrows. She caused a significant laceration behind my dogs ear due to improper use of sharp shears. Could have easily been a deeper neck wound, ear, or eye injury. Required 9 staples which they had to fully sedate him to place. I received no apology from Liz about this either. Zero accountability for the injury she caused my dog, and when I asked management about corrective action taken I was told in email "The company's personnel files are private and I cannot provide any information regarding this. This is feedback for the grooming dept; Please do not come here, they are ridiculous and don't even do a good job. This is my first time because my old groomer that I was bringing my dog to was getting just a little bit too expensive. I have been to Petsmart for grooming before and found a great groomer that I wanted to stick with but she unfortunately had quit so I decided to support a smaller business, because I know big businesses like Petco and Petsmart don't usually have the dogs as a priority honestly. There isn't much glowing reviews for any groomer at these big companies anyways, but I found one from years ago for a groomer named Brenda and decided to book her. First, my appointment was at 3:45 and I got a call around noon to bring her in around 3 because she was off at 5:30 and will not stay longer if the dog is not finished. I brought my dog in around 320, and she checked her in but told me that she was still finishing up another dog and it would be another 10 to 20 minutes (Which would be my appointment time anyways so why did you make me leave work early to begin with?) So I offered to take my dog across the parking lot to a target because I had to do a return and came back 10 minutes later. Anyways, when I picked her up the fee was $50 for an extra small haircut, $5 for materials fee, which both of these I knew about. But my total came out to about $78. What!??! So turns out, she charged me $15 for a "VIP package and another $8 for a "face trim". the $15 normally would be for dogs that have anxiety and the owners want to bring them in early so that they are but not put in a kennel. But it just so happened that my dog was the last dog and she didn't have to be put in a kennel either way. So why did she charge me? And as far as the "face trim "she charged me because I had asked if she could go a little shorter on her feet because I wash my dogs feet and they get matted very easily. She did not mention this to me. You would think it is part of THE HAIRCUT. obviously there is not such thing as upcharging for going shorter on the feet since she had to charge it under a face trim. To top it off, my dog has never looked worse coming back from the groomers, I had to come back and re-cut her ears and tail as they were not equal length. I wish I took a before picture. Not sure why I even tipped her. Also, how does her charging me these absurd extras even benefit her? I wonder if it is her own doing or Petco that is asking them to do these things to new clients. I was not even going to write a review and just took it as a loss and go back to my old groomer, but today, I noticed that there is a cut on her neck!!! Had I known this before, I would not have paid AT ALL. When I picked my dog up I had even asked her how it went, she had every opportunity to tell me that she might've accidentally nicked her or whatever, but she did not even mention anything. This is VERY very frustrating to me as a dog owner as she is still a young dog (year and a half) and I do not want this experience to traumatize her as she's already unsure about the groomers. I'll take this as a lesson learned, honestly the more research into dogs and services and stuff like that, I will never trust these big companies ever again. read more

Asks us to come early because the stylist was going to be going home and our puppy was the last cut of the day. We get there and she isn't ready - so we take our dog with us on a brief adventure and come back just as she was finishing up the dog that was there we first showed up. We come to pick her up and all seems normal. No big deal? Wrong They then try to nickel and dime any penny they can. "VIP" treatment of no kennel (last cut of the day so no line and no need to kennel)? yeah that's 15 bucks. You asked to go shorter around the feet cause things get suck in her fur? Additional $8 charge for a "face trim". Just to name a few of the wonderful "perks" we were charged for. The (hair) cut itself was absolutely wank with uneven ears and patchy fur around the body. The real kicker is the inch inch cut left in my puppy's skin along her neck. Which they neglected to mention when we asked how it went. If you want a bad haircut, and to leave your dog with a gash this is the place for you, you could also give a toddler a pair of scissors and get the same effect for less cost. If you care about your dog I strongly recommend you look elsewhere to get them trimmed. read more

The front staff helped me sign up for Vital Care to get free exams. They referred me to Costco when I couldn't find blood glucose monitors at any other pharmacies. The doctor also referred me to an internal medicine specialist to take a deep dive into what's going on with my dog. They are lifesavers!!! read more

Been a member for about 2 years now, and them trying to upsell has gotten crazy. First off to get my two dogs shots updated and cost me about $950. And they were all current just needed an update. Also there was a small ear infection for one dog. Ear drops 50 and then they tried to push and ear cleaner on top even tho I had a bottle another $50 said no then one of the other workers told me I could find for half the price on Amazon. Then quoted me a teeth cleaning to be between $2500-$4500 for 1 dog. She 13 and has lived a long life, you are trying to twist on people make them feel bad for not going into debt. The final thing that mad me say I'm done. They prescribed a hills diet that I need a prescription to buy it, they write me the prescription, and I use this to but the food. It's pricier, then the last 4-5 months they have been out of the big bags of this specific brand, so I have to buy multiple small ones. So I decide to order a big bag through the Petco app and a send in a picture of my prescription from Petco. They won't accept that and have to call the vet, Petco vet that wrote me the prescription to this food, and the vet denies it so they won't send me a large bag. I'm done with these sales reps and will find a real vet read more

Communication is important. I tried giving our dog a second chance at getting groomed here. We just moved to the area and I brought my dog for the first time a month ago. When I went t to pick her up, I asked how she did. I was told that the groomer was out to lunch and didn't leave a message so they would have her call me. I never got a call. I took her back today. I brought up the no call back to be told that they only give updates/ information if there was a concern. Was told by the groomer that they'd give me a call when she was done in 2-3 hours. 4th hour approached. I called to see if she was ready. Was told that she had been ready and that I received a vm. But I didn't. I will say that when I picked her up, I did receive a paper report. But nothing was verbally shared besides "here she is and thank you." Her ears were not cut short like we requested and her tail was butchered. We unfortunately will not be back. We preferred the pricing at Petco but will pay extra for the exceptional service at Petsmart. read more

The older Filipina (receipt says Jean but she did not have a name tag on) I dealt with today was very rude. This is the second time at this Petco where the cashiers don't want to help when you find a sale item and it doesn't automatically ring up as being on sale. The excuse today was that they were short staffed so I went and took a picture of the item and the sale tag myself.
