Loads of dead fish. Seems like they don't really care to take care of the birds either.

Our Bedlington Terrier has a difficult cut and look and Teia at Rosecrans did one of the best cuts ever.

Very knowledgeable staff. I am currently helping my friend foster a mom dog who had an emergency c section for 10 puppies. This dog was rescued from Mexicali off the street. She's on antibiotics and very weak, skinny, exhausted. She lost a baby tonight, but all the help we got for information on food, supplements and nourishment from the staff was so helpful. We are mixing the milk replacer with a mousse and wet food for the mom. We also got her the vitamins they recommended. Thank you so much for helping us out. I am so grateful to not feel alone about this! Animals are so important and precious!

Santa and Elf Chloe - taken with my phone

SANTA PICTURES Sorry PetSmart but PetCo has a way better setup and backdrop. All the hype and nice plastered advertisements of Santa pictures at PetSmart ended up being in the back corner with a very cheap backdrop. I was calling several pet stores to see if Santa pictures were being offered. Representative on the phone told me "you missed it today. But we will be taking pictures tomorrow starting at 10am to 3pm" THAT'S A LIE. We arrived exactly at 10am to be told it begins at 12pm. We came back at 230pm and there was no line. When I saw the backdrop/corner I was disappointed that it was very cheap looking. We were suppose to have two pictures (one in her elf costume and one in her fancier dress) but in my email I only received one. Why? Because the staff taking pictures was busing answering to personal phone calls during our photo session. I was busy taking my own photos on my mobile phone because I may be doing a better job at it. Once we were finish, a line started to form and glad we missed the last minute rush. At the least, we got our Santa photo but we will be sure to not miss Petco's Santa photos so we don't have to come here. Sorry PetSmart.

Came for a fish but no fish to be found not even bettas ... sign said under reconstruction fish area bummer . I needed fish flakes and I saw this big 7.06oz for $10.99 I said what a deal . Grabbed it check out with a water conditioner as well and it came out to $19.99 soooo misleading and false advertising. I even ask the guy at the register how much was it and he just turn his computer screen to me like in a rude way . He didn't even ask if it was a different price or nothing . #disappointed #badcustomerservice

Fish department needs attention. Dead fish in 80% of the tanks. The staff member was more concerned about restocking the inventory than helping me. They seem to have their priorities out of order, not assisting the cutler or the live creatures the sell. Go to sort Kingdom next door, way better service and add the fish are alive

Allie looks so pretty! Thank you Tabitha

I can't say enough great things about Tabitha, the manager of the pet grooming salon, at PetSmart on Rosecrans. My dog Allie, has been to two other grooming salons in Point Loma, and at both locations she had bad experiences. These experiences caused her to really be stressed when she went to the groomers. I found Tabitha and explained Allie's issues, and Tabitha took such great care of her, you can tell she really cares and loves these dogs. Plus she gives a fabulous grooming Allie loves her too and will only let Tabitha groom her now.

    Grooming for 2 dogs
    Pam K.

My dachshund is 8 years old. She has been coming to PetSmart to be groomed for years. She was born with a congenital defect in her front left paw. We call it her "floppy paw". This means it's tough for her to stand for any length of time. Today we brought her here to be groomed. Katherine did a great job. Other than being told they won't groom her again - store policy - because she doesn't stand as good as a 4-legged dog, I'm very satisfied. We will not be back. UPDATE... PetSmart "where pets are family unless they're disabled" refuses to groom our miniature dachshund because her disability makes it difficult for her to stand on their grooming tables. Instead of trying to accommodate her with a grooming mat so her legs don't slide, they refuse her service. I'm still stunned. Fortunately we found a groomer will take her and told us she can't believe this is PetSmart's policy. We can't either. Safety is always important, but PetSmart's unwillingness to make any accommodation is counter to their slogan, because they definitely don't treat my pet like family.

**Life-Changing. Truly.**…read more I don't write reviews lightly and I especially don't write emotional ones--but Bark Busters of San Diego quite literally gave me my life back. For years, I lived in silence and stress. I couldn't leave my home without my dogs barking, howling, scratching at their crates, and spiraling into panic. The mouth watering alone was enough to break me. So instead, I stayed home. I adjusted my life around their anxiety. I suffered quietly because I loved them and didn't know what else to do. Until one day I broke down completely. I realized this wasn't living not for me, and not for them. We deserved calm. We deserved peace. We deserved to live our "best" lives and this wasn't it. Some people complain in reviews that dog training "doesn't work." Let me be very clear: anxiety whether in humans or dogs is not something you fix by checking a box. A true behavioral therapist understands one thing above all else, "awareness". Anxiety comes from surroundings and perceived safety. The work is learning how to respond and create calm and that takes consistency. I spent three straight weeks training four hours a day, every single day. I cried. I doubted myself. I wanted to quit. But I followed the Bark Busters program exactly as taught--daily simulations, real-world scenarios, repetition, and patience. And then something incredible happened. My dogs slept. They relaxed. They trusted. Today, I can leave my home and my dogs are calm, quiet, and peacefully sleeping, knowing I'm coming back. Visitors come and go with ease. My 9- and 6-year-old Maltipoos are relaxed, confident, and happy. And so am I. Here's the truth people don't want to hear, there is no magic pill. There is no shortcut. The training never "ends" because leadership and love are lifelong commitments. And honestly? That's the gift. Once it becomes part of your daily life, it feels natural. I walk more. The cuddles are calmer. I'm no longer being climbed on out of anxiety I'm being loved in peace. And about the cost? Think about it. You've already spent more on multiple trainers, treats, wasted time, emotional exhaustion, and a very unhappy household. Bark Busters' training is guaranteed for life. If you move. If life changes. If new challenges come you're supported. That matters more than people realize. Justin and his team are beyond words. Compassionate. Honest. Direct. They don't just train dogs, they train families. Value your pet's life. Value the short, precious time we get with them. Happiness--for everyone in the home is worth the work.

As first-time dog owners, the early support really did help us. Having someone we could call during those overwhelming first months was a relief. Over time, though, I realized I was hoping the training would shift toward more positive reinforcement. The constant, harsher corrections worked at first but eventually didn't seem effective anymore and started affecting my relationship with Mimi. I noticed this during a family trip where Mimi, who is usually fearful of strangers, bonded more easily with my husband and his family. She gravitated toward them when scared, and I realized it might be because they weren't following the correction-heavy approach, while I was. I also asked for help with Mimi's fear and reactivity toward other dogs, but was told they didn't have dogs available for training and that I would need to bring a calm, socialized dog myself. As a non-trainer, that was very hard, but we tried by traveling many hours to introduce her to my husband's family dog. The experience ended up being chaotic since the family didn't fully understand what the process required, and new people and dogs kept appearing even though Mimi wasn't ready. Her reactivity came back in that environment, which made me feel like the training had only put a bandaid on deeper fear issues. Maybe I should have clarified expectations better from the start, but with a high-need dog and being new to all of this, I didn't know what to expect. Since then, we've switched to a positive reinforcement trainer who organizes structured group activities. Mimi is still scared of bigger dogs and can still be reactive, but she's improving slowly and has been able to meet a few smaller dogs. She's also still fearful of people, but she nips a lot less now, so progress is happening. Overall, Bark Busters helped us in the beginning, but long-term we found that a different, more positive approach has been a better fit for Mimi.

This was the very first time we left our 1-year-old dog with someone. He's almost 80 pounds of pure energy, a big, happy, very enthusiastic boy so choosing the right person felt incredibly important. I was anxious and very cautious about who we could trust. From day one, Sara exceeded every expectation. She didn't just "watch" our dog -- she worked with him every single day with so much passion, patience, and love. When he came home after two weeks, the difference was remarkable. He was calmer, more focused, and able to control his excitement much better. Walking him used to be a struggle -- he pulled constantly and tried to grab everything he saw on the street. Now, our walks are so much easier and more enjoyable. Of course, there's no magic in dog training -- consistency is key, and we continue to reinforce what he learned -- but his biggest issue, jumping on people, improved dramatically. The foundation she built made such a difference. What also gave us tremendous peace of mind was her communication. Sara sent frequent updates, photos, and videos showing us what he was learning and how he was doing. On top of that, we received detailed daily emails about his overall condition. It made us feel completely reassured that we had chosen the right person. She even gave him several baths during his stay! Her place is incredible , very secure, spacious, and extremely dog-friendly. It honestly felt like a big farm where dogs can feel free yet safe. Sara is truly passionate, caring, and loving. Her knowledge of different breeds and her training methods are impressive and effective. You can clearly see that she genuinely loves what she does. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any dog owner, no matter the age or breed. Leaving your dog with someone for the first time is never easy, but with Sara, you can feel confident your dog is in the best possible hands.
