Petco: clean and friendly, well organized and stocked. Vetco: check up and vaccinations went smoothly. team was friendly and professional. ask for discount if it's your first time! call to make your appointment, the website has inaccurate hours. spacious parking lot, often busy though. some grass patches for your dog to potty outside.

Nowadays I don't really step foot in a pet store because I buy my food on amazon and toys from Marshalls/Ross (same quality, 50% cheaper). However, Petco is a lifesaver if I am in need of dog food in case mines happen to run out before the auto replenish. They carry extremely high quality dog food brands such as Acana and Orijen. My dog is very sensitive to grains, and certain filler ingredients so I'm very grateful that they carry these brands here, which I think Petsmart doesn't even have. I do take my Dog to Thrive (which is attached to petco) once or twice a year for his check ups and they always do a great job too, also its affordable and convenient since there are so many locations. The workers are always nice and it's even fun to walk around and take a peek inside the cat living quarters and fluffy chinchillas and tiny rodents.

Typical PETCO set up. Dog training and grooming service are available. Stores overall appearance is well stocked and clean. Great selection of reptiles, aqua marine life, small mammals and insects. Staff were polite and helpful.

Luca with his cone of shame so he doesn't lick his paw

I just wanted to give a thanks and shoutout to Dr. Peggy Hsu and her assistant. I wish I remembered her name. But they were so good to my Luca. I had brought luc in twice once March 27 and again on April 4. The first time around his paw looked just irritated and like his cut was a bit infected. They sent me home with some pain meds and wipes. A few days passed and I noticed his cut was a big blood blister and it was black and purple. So I figure he must have re-hurt it while outside. I brought him back and she took another look at his paw and the blister had ruptured but there was a foreign object deep in his skin. They took him back and we're able to extract a long thorn out!!! My poor baby he must have been in discomfort for some days. But Dr.Peggy was so nice and thorough when she was examining him and his paw. She sent me home with more wipes and even offered me the option of getting an injection of antibiotics VS a pill for luc. I let her know he doesn't do well with pills. It's such a pain to get him to get tricked into eating one. So she gave him an injection and sent him home. I'm on day 5 since our visit and Lucas paw looks soooooo much better and his cut has gotten smaller and he's playing a lot more and no longer limping on his paw. I just wanted to say thank you for taking the time and paying such close attention to my dog. He means so so sooo much to me and I feel so happy knowing if I need to bring him in for anything Dr.Peggy will be there to make sure we figure out the issue. I know we will definitely be back one day again! But hopefully for only check ups and little problems like this.

Worst customer service ever. They make up their own Return policy. I've spent hundreds of dollars at Petco buying aquarium supplies. I bought some fish yesterday and this morning one was dead. Per there 30 day guarantee I can return for a replacement. Petco policy says Ive got to provide the original receipt and bring it the dead fish. Well I did both and was told I couldn't get a replacement because I didn't bring in a water sample. Nowhere does it say I have to bring in a water samples on the receipt, website or the bags the put them in. They have a hand written sign that say to bring in a water sample. This sign does not comply with Petco's guidelines. They make up their own rules. But get this store lead said she would give me a refund for the fish . So technically I can get a refund and just buy a new one but they won't honor their guarantee policy. I also spoke to the cashier who was also confused and said he's never heard of this rule.

The volunteer who is described in the post.

I would put 0 stars if I could. They had volunteers setting up a cage display by the cats. There was no indicator that we could not walk by to engage with the cats. A volunteer setting up this display passive aggressively talked about me to their co worker for walking up to the cats, then told me to fuck myself when I asked them to treat me with some respect. This engagement went back and forth, with this gentleman telling me he has no obligation to treat me with respect, and that I again, should "go fuck myself". Photo of the individual is included (guy on left). The manager apologized profusely, but none the less, this behavior shouldn't be permitted.

Ran here to see if they carry the True Chew treats my best friend likes....they did have them but the price was high...so I opted for a different treat made by the same True Chews that were less...I just plan to buy them on Amazon due to the price. Store seems old and tired....set up inside is poor or lacks a good clean and well organized feel....maybe it's lighting or they need a new layout (just my personal observations and taste) the person checking me out at the register was talking to another employee and customer while he helped me so he never really looked at me or said a word to me...I picked up a toy for my BF (totally spoiling him as always) to put in his stocking for Christmas....parking lot is giant but is always very busy (outdoor mall). I'll use them in a pinch unless the pricing gets to where others are for the same products.

I'm kind of neutral about this Petco. On the one hand, their in-store pick up is super easy and convenient. On the other hand, the parking fcking sucks so bad and the staff friendliness is hit or miss. One time we took our puppy here and he nervous-pooped as we were walking in and a cashier started shrieking HE'S POOPING HE'S POOPING! Of course we cleaned it up but it was like, Jesus lady, could you have communicated this differently lol. Another time there was a Blue Buffalo deal, buy 2 get 1 free, and the cashier was insisting there was not a deal. So I had to go back to the aisle at the back of the store, take a picture of the sign announcing the sale, and go back to the front and show her before she was like Oh Ok I guess there is a deal. I was extra grumpy about this because it was after work, I'd parked in the middle of the Von's parking lot because of course all the spots near Petco were full, and I was wearing my 4" work heels, so the extra back and forth in the store (with their always slippery floors lol) was not what I wanted to do.

Location is downtown, there is a small parking lot but usually full - has with narrow spots and hard to get into since surround streets are one-way busy streets. I recommend circling and parking on 10th Ave for less of hassle. Fabiola is fabulous! She was so sweet, caring, attentive, and does an amazing job cutting fur. She doesn't rush each grooming and takes her time for a very quality cut. She also has a Pomeranian which made my experience feeling better because she knew exactly how to cut their fur. We even had conversations about Pomeranians and everything about our dog care life. My Pomeranian looks so beautiful and smelt wonderful when I picked her up. I asked for a trim, clean up the buttox area, and do cut the paws (like cat paws). She also knows how Pom fur is suppose to look like and she rounded out all the areas needed AND brought in the fur around the waist to give my Pomeranian a cinched look. For a bath, some treats, nails trim, and fur.cut for $115 - please tip on top, she does a great job. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I was mainly interested in a wash, and regular grooming, but after the conversation, I agreed to face framing and a mild haircut, and I'm so glad I did! Our sweet baby had trouble walking & was slipping on their smooth floor, & Kristan made sure to get some dog booties to fit his four legs to help to make him comfortable & to make him feel at ease with his walking, & this made a big difference on him. Passing by I had always seen the two play areas facing the sidewalk but had no idea they had a few more in the back. I like how the dogs can be in the front and people watch out the large windows but also decompress in the back. The kennel area for overnights was also well-kept and organized. Also pleasantly surprised at each dog's locker and the staff's thorough physical checks of each dog and logging of their daily activities. I would say the only thing I had an issue with was logging into the webcam on my phone but seems to work on a computer. Also you can tell they use bleach from the smell but that is a good sign that they keep things sanitary. Other than that my dog seemed to enjoy his time there and we bought one of the packages so we will be back.
