This mom and pop shop was very nice. They were able to squeeze me in with a day notice for a time that accommodated my work schedule. My Toy Goldendoodle (8 lbs, 1 year old) was extremely matted, and needed to be shaved full body and they did a careful and safe job. No injuries and my dog looked good. I was able to pick him up after 2.5 hours. For bath and haircut, nail trim, etc. package for a dog under 15 lbs, $60 was a great price compared to $105 for similar services offered at Petco (which was booked out 3 weeks for an appointment that could meet my schedule). I'm glad I tried Happy Grooming, it was conveniently located near to my apartment complex in Mira Mesa/Scripps Ranch. They even gave me a doggie goodie bag on the way out with some treats and a poop bag. That was nice! My daughter's friend referred Happy Grooming to us. We were surprised to find out that the business is right in Mira Mesa and has been in business for a long time. We were able to get both of my Pomeranian in within the next two days. The owners, husband and wife, (I assume) are very kind and gentle. They only service small breeds FYI. Their prices are very reasonable. I asked for full service ($60). It took about 4 hours for my two fur babies . The haircut was decent. Not blood, no cuts, no complaints! The cost is only $60, and compared to other places that is the cheapest I've ever gotten so far. They have paper towels for frightened dogs, like my own. The owner of this shop kindly fit me in for a same-day appointment, which I appreciated. However, when I arrived on time, there was nobody at the front desk. I said hello and waited with my dog for about 10 minutes. Eventually, I left, but shortly after, I received a call from them asking where I was, so I returned to the shop. Later, a lady came out and seemed a bit irritated, telling me that our appointment was at 2:00 PM, not 2:30 PM. It was 2:20 PM at that point. I'm not sure if this confusion was due to a language barrier or a misunderstanding. What concerned me most, though, was that I couldn't see how the dogs were being groomed, and I could hear someone yelling in the back. These factors combined made me feel uneasy, and I decided not to hand my dog over for grooming. Aw the korean couple that own this place is so cute and sweet!! We wanted to expose our 10 week old beagle puppy Aiko to the groomers for the first time and I think they did very well with her!! She got a bath, nail trim, and ear cleaning and it came out to be only $30!! It turned out cheaper than the price they listed but maybe its cuz she's super smol We dropped her off for an appointment at 1 and they told us to come back in an hour. When we came to pick her up, they were on time and Aiko looked happy and excited! They told us she was a little afraid of the blowdryer and to be gentle cleaning her ears. Appreciated that! I went to take my dog here which I've been doing for more than over 4 visits now. Every single time was a breeze. This visit was different. The old wife gave attitude when dropping off my dog, trying to make up an excuse why they can't take my dog in. I was nothing but polite, but I received the same treatment when picking up my dog. Is that a way to treat your customers? She also overcharged me, did not give my dog a shower, and did not trim the nails, which was listed on the included services. This is the 3rd time I've brought my two EXTREMELY FURRY Pomeranians to get trimmed, and once again they did an amazing job. For me to trim them at home it takes all day, especially having to clean up all the fur, and when I'm done they look like they've lost a fight with a weed whacker! All uneven with weird bald spots in random places! But instead I got a same day appointment, they were done an hour before they originally said they would be, and they look like 2 completely new dogs - with no crazy bald spots and without me losing my entire say. Called to and got a same day appt. I saw great reviews and thats why I went with Happy Grooming... When I arrived 4pm ... the groomer, I believe his name is Sun had me put my pup down to look at and said come back at 530pm. I asked what the detials of service. He didnt even ask what I wanted done. First said $50 FOR 12LB dog. Well I left the vet today and my pup (4month maltipoo) 5.8lbs. which is $45 I asked him to please NOT shave all his fur off AND I showed him a picture of what he looks like trimmed. He said ok and took my baby back. When I arrived to pick up my baby it wasnt my baby. COMPLETELY different dog. I AM SO SAD AND DISAPPOINTED! How does a groomer completely shave a puppy AFTER he is asked NOT TO shave my puppy!!! He WAS NOT MATTED AT ALL!!! My dog smelled good, shaved down, teddy bear face, nails trimmed.. except they didn't clean my dogs ears. :( I was pretty disappointed as I paid for the "full grooming" at $55 for bath, trim, ear & eye clean & nail trim. All was completed except for the ear cleaning.. Also, my dog does have a growth on her lower back- a benign tumor and the groomer acknowledged understanding to be careful & groom around it. :) But a big positive is that I called this morning & they fit me in the same -day for an app. Really appreciated that. I recently moved to the area, am glad to say I've found a new groomer; I've been here a couple of times now, and both trips have been a wonderful experience. My dog isn't a "standard" breed (half papillon, half eskimo) meaning some groomers have a hard time with styling, but Sun has done amazing work and exceeded my expectations. My Emma is a sweet girl she doesn't bite, yes she moves but she doesn't derve I will never bring my girl here to get yelled at saring her and bruising her. I brought my dog in for a bath and nail trim. She's a medium to small dog weighing under 35 lbs. According to their pricing, it should have been $40 for both. I was surprised when they charged me $60 when I picked her up. I asked the owner why it went from $40 to $60 and she told me something about "de-shedding" and that I was given a $5 discount. I've had my dog for over three years and I've never been charged a "de-shedding fee" for her. I can't support a business that's not honest with their pricing. read more

Took my pooch to the groomer. I believe it's just the owner who does all the grooming. Upon arriving my dog ran straight to him which shocked me since she hates the groomer. 1.5 hours later my baby came back all cute and clean. It looks like they're a little slower since they're new. I have taken my dog to the groomers in the past with no issues, my dog became scared and withdrawn after I brought her here. I thought maybe she wasn't feeling well, she went back to her normal self at home, so a month later I take her again and she refuses to go in, I had to tug at her for a bit because she made herself heavy and pulled in the opposite direction. I didn't leave her because she worried me. A week later I made an appt elsewhere and the groomer called me saying that my dog is very fearful of the blow dryer. My dog is 11 years old and I have never had an issue with her until I brought her here. It makes me sad to think that they did something to her. Decided to give a new groomer a shot. My dog walked right in without hesitation, he normally won't step foot inside anything that smells remotely of canine. They also have an open area for the dogs that are waiting. They did a great job on my dog. One major pro was that the turnaround was way shorter than most groomers I've used in the past. About 1.5 hrs for a cut&bath. They managed to de-matt his ears without buzzing all of the hair off which is a very difficult feat to accomplish in such a short amount of time. read more
