I've been bringing my dog Panch to Monica since he was 3 years old--he's 8 now--and she's the only person who can successfully groom my medium-sized, aggressive pom who doesn't take well to grooming. In the past, other groomers would call me mid-appointment to say they couldn't finish the haircut because he bites, though they'd usually manage to bathe him. I don't know how Monica does it, but she handles him with incredible skill and care. He always comes out looking great--clean, shaved down from his belly to his booty, with neatly trimmed nails and a clean overall cut. We're so grateful she's able to do something we simply can't manage at home (we can bathe him but he bites us when we give him a haircut too). Monica is a true pro, and we highly recommend her. She usually fits us in within the same week and is super consistent--Panch is always in and out in about 1 to 1.5 hours. A total lifesaver! read more

We've tried using a few groomers in Poway over the past couple years and for one reason, or another, they just haven't worked out. The first one was good, but extremely difficult to get a hold of and schedule appointments for and our last experience at the last one left our dog extremely itchy to where he was chewing and licking all the time. A cursory search on Google led me to Monica and All Paws Pet Grooming. I was able to schedule an appointment for our Spaniel, Charlie the very next day. Monica was very friendly and made sure to ask about any allergies that Charlie may have. I explained to her what happened at the other groomer and it seemed like she would take genuine care of our little monster. I picked Charlie up about an hour and a half later and he looked exactly how we were hoping he would turn out. Charlie seemed very happy to be there and Monica confirmed that there was no sign of irritation on his fur after she cleaned him up a little bit. I'm very happy with Monica's positive attitude and friendliness and that she took good care of Charlie for us. She also accepts a wide array of payment options which made it very easy. Visited 3/21/2017 Ive tried many different groomers all over San Diego and this was by far The best place I've been. The business is located at Monica's home but wasn't a deterrent for me to give her a try. Found her here on yelp with so many five star reviews that I had to give her a try. I'm certainly not disappointed. Every other groomer I've been to took three hours or longer to take care of my little Kimsue. With my appointment Monica had me in and out in 1 1/2 hours. She turned my baby from a beast To a princess in that short time. It's an hour and a 20 minutes drive for me that well worth it. Highly recommended and I will be back next time. I've been taking my Shih Tzu, Pepper, to Monica for the last year. I waited a bit to write this review because I wanted to make sure that the service was consistent. Simply put, Monica does an awesome job grooming my dog. He's not the easiest guy to bathe. Small though he may be, he HATES being clean and isn't above nipping at anyone who tries to bush out his tangles. If he didn't start to resemble Nick Nolte's jailbird picture and smell like stinky cheese, I'd leave him be. Far be it from me to curtail his joy. However, Monica is super patient and treats him well. He comes out looking clean, dashing, and debonair. What I particularly like about taking him to Monica is that she only handles about 1 pet at a time. I can usually get an appointment by calling the day before (or sometimes even the day of), and he's in and out in about an hour or so. I used to take him to Animal Salon in PQ - he would sit in a cage ALL day, and the only groomer who was nice to him was the owner (a very sweet lady). He really didn't do well in that environment. Bottom line - I'm super happy to have found Monica (Pepper not so much, but tolerates having to smell non-offensive to those around him). Great job grooming our senior kitty in February. Even took the time to show me the best tool to use. Kona is a short haired outside cat and her mats would get really bad despite us brushing her twice a week. All Paws was able to remove all her mats gently with a groomers comb that I have never seen before and also had it available for purchase for $10. The best experience ever! My 9 month old goodledoodle needed a cut since he was starting to mat. Monica was amazing. When I brought my dog in she had her husband take him so we could talk about the plan. She explained about the breed and about the hair. I came in here for a last-minute bath for my minature pinscher. The woman was accomodating and let me bring in my pup without a lot of notice. My pup is a rescue so she's a little skittish with situations like this but she successfully got a bath. Unfortunately, the woman cut one of her nails too short causing my pup to bleed. When they came out the woman brushed it off like it was nothing while I was in a state of shock (my pup was bleeding so much that when I held her it got all over my arm and shirt). I foolishly paid (because I was still in shock) and the woman took my money without an apology. I'll never come back to this place again.
