I'm actually surprised this place has 2 stars. Way to go Petco! My wife placed a pick up order with my name on it. It was taking a couple days before I could get there and they wouldn't let her pick it up because she placed me as the pickup person so she placed another with her name. She left mine because we could use extra. I went the day after she picked up hers and gave the cashier my name. She said they had no order so I gave them my wife's name and she found it but said I was not the pickup person. I told her I can show her my ID and we have the same last name and same address and she said that wasn't good enough. I tried telling her I was definitely on the order and she still claimed I wasn't. She actually made me call my wife at work and send a picture of her ID. Preaching to me if someone stole my items I would be mad at them. Annoyed? Yes I was. But ok, maybe my wife made a mistake. That being said, the cashier was flat out rude and needs some lessons in customer service. When I got to my car my wife sent me the confirmation emails that clearly show me as the pickup person. I then looked at the piece of paper on my pickup order that clearly says my wife's name and mine. At this point annoyed at all they made me go through to pick up an order I clearly should have been able to without any issues, I go back inside and ask to speak to a manager. And to my surprise, the rude cashier who didn't know what she was talking about was the manager. I believe her name was Shannon or something like that. I am honestly not 100% sure. She was older with grey hair. So I proceed to point out to her the confirmation emails with my name and the piece of paper on my pickup order that has my wife's name and my name and tell her it's messed up that I wasn't allowed to pick up my order without being forced to bother my wife at work. Because clearly I was the pickup person. And that there was no reason they shouldn't have let her pick up the day before because her name was on it too. With a shitty attitude the manager (and I only pray she is not the GM) proceeds to argue with me about how I am wrong. Despite me showing her clear evidence that I was the pickup person on multiple forms. And then proceeded to blame the handheld device. And then finally in a crappy tone said "No, I'm wrong its my fault. No no I'm wrong I guess." And then proceeded to blame the device again. She then went to maybe they gave my wife the wrong order and I showed her no because the confirmation email order number matched the order number on the piece of paper attached to the bag. I finally just told her she needs some serious lessons in customer service and we would just shop at Petsmart. I have never met someone so rude, especially a manager. Or someone to argue so hard that they were in the right even though multiple pieces of evidence show she is clearly wrong. A simple "I am so sorry for the mixup" would have made everything fine. Instead she wanted to be shitty when I thought she was just a cashier and then again as the manager. Petco...get it together. read more

Went to Petco at Towers Mall to buy aquarium products. Needed assistance. No one in department. went in search of employee. Finally found one grumpy woman who told me she was the only one there and she was too busy to help me. I went back to the aquarium department and got one of things I came for and went to checkout where I found two other employees. I told the cashier what had happened and that I could get only one of the things I came for. She said,"Well we do have other things to do like take care of all the animals." What an answer. I asked her where the manager was and she told me the grumpy woman who couldn't be bothered to wait on me WAS the manager! Enough said. I'll not go back there ever again and wouldn't recommend that anyone go there. (As I was leaving I saw the grumpy manager going to the stock area playing on her phone) read more

I shop at this store every month. I have never had a bad experience. The staff is very helpful and friendly. My family enjoys shopping here with our pets. It provides you with a safe environment to socialize them and we love letting them 'pick' their own toys. The prices are competitive and they carry everything from basic inexpensive items to fancy foods and accessories. read more

I made an appointment to get my cat groomed with Becky . I was told she could cut him down with a 4 guard and remove his mats . When I got there and she came out the cashier told her what I wanted and she said that's hard to do on a cat and I said I read reviews that she got the mats out and was told I could get his fur that length as he stays outside . No Shave! She said she'd do her best . Got a call an hour later to come get him they couldn't trim him down "he was too stressed" when I get him home his fur is all chopped up in random places and he's injured under his neck , a bald spot that got knicked pretty bad. They didn't even tell me they injured him just brought him in his carrier and said no charge , which is a no brainer!! Don't take your cat there !!! I'd do zero stars if it was an option. read more

I arrived at my dog's grooming appointment today to be told that the tech that usually works on her is out on medical leave and the one tech there isn't certified to do hair cuts (why the only tech there isn't certified to do cuts is beyond me - there should be another that can do them as well). Excuse me, maybe a call should have been place to me when my regular tech was not going to be able to groom my dog! There seems to be no consideration for anyone's time anymore. And when I call and ask for a Manager, I'm just put on hold. Needless to say, I will not bring my dog back to Petco! read more

Went here to purchase fish with a friend of ours. The employee who assisted us with the fish was very helpful, he was very professional and actually knew what he was talking about. As we were checking out, an employee, didn't quite catch her name, but she spoke VERY rudely to my boyfriend, by cursing at him and dropping the f bomb on him. The cashier who rung us up was very sweet, so I am giving three stars. But one employee in particular who was sweeping the front was very rude to us, telling me and my boyfriend to "get the f out of her way". Other than that RUDE employee who shouldn't even be talking to customers that way, our experience to this Petco was great. read more

Petco itself is ok..They have a wide selection..But having said that..I am still devastated at the grooming...or so called grooming done for my sweet dog..Ace...We just moved here and myself or my daughter had the time to groom Ace..Yes his curls were long..and he needed a cut..but I never ever thought they would shave him down to his skin where you could see the pink of his flesh..I was so upset..I was literally..livid..Starting into cold weather with no fur..nothing..It was unbelievable..Never asked me just said ..We will have to shave him..Never touched his fur or looked at it..Took a trainee and shaved him to the bone..I will never ever..and I mean never ever take my dog back to the groomers there..No explanation no..apology nothing..And don't you dare come back and say he was matted because he was not..From now on for others please ask how the person wants their dog groomed..I have never ever had this happen..It is inexcusable..!!!! 79 dollars later...I could have shaved him down myself.I will never get over it and neither will my sweet dog..he was traumatized for days.. read more

We took our dog for a basic bath and nail clipping. We were called and told the dog was ready. At pickup we had to pay before they brought the dog out. When he came out he was limping and bleeding, and whelped when you touched his paw. Got blood all over the car. Got home to a bleeding paw and a nail that looked loose at the attachment. Called the groomers to see what had happened - 48 hours later still no call. Had to take to vet for $214 visit, bandages and prescriptions. Based on a response above I sent a detailed email to reviewsupport@petco.com and 48 hours later still no response. I guess I will have to take the vet bill directly to the store - with no real positive expectations. read more

Becky in grooming is the best. She is so patient with my dog when clipping her nails, and I get to stay her best friend.

I took my dog in for a de-shedding treatment and was told I should see a 60% improvement in her shedding. Since her appointment, my house is covered in dog hair. Her shedding has worsened by 60%! Everything is literally covered. read more

Took my dog to get her nails clipped and the lady was rude due to the fact no one was working upfront and she was busy. My dog had long nails and accidentally scratched her, the lady said my dog was aggressive. I would not recommend grooming here. read more

I shopped with my dog Christmas Eve for some treats. I didn't have my petco card with me, and I wasn't sure which number my card was under because I'v had the card for so long. I was not allowed to purchase the dog treats and stood to the side embarrassed and wanting to cry. I had a gift card which I left with the cashier so someone with their petco card could use it. I don't understand this business model. Any paying customer should be welcome. read more

Great store, love all the variety of gluten free pet foods. The 'make your own pet treat bag' is my favorite! It's been so hard to find certain treats that I can only find at Petco or online. One of the best Petco's I've been to, and I have patronized many across the country. I have an extensive "collection" of fish and aquariums and have been impressed by the staff's knowledge as well as the cleanliness of their tanks. When my fiancée and I enter the aquatic section, we are always greeted within moments by very friendly employees. We have interacted with the aquatics specialist (a younger woman) many times on recent visits and I wish I had gotten her name because she is wonderful and undoubtedly deserves a raise! She is always cleaning the tanks (which are already usually impeccable) and checking on the fish and interacting with customers and has a great working knowledge of the animals that is SERIOUSLY impressive to me for a chain pet store. While it is slightly more expensive than the Petsmart in the area, I would rather pay more to patronize this store. All fish we have purchased here have been healthy and active with zero disease problems, which is much more than I can say for Petsmart. read more
