Great grooming service! I've never been to a groomer who also brushes teeth - and our chihuahua mixes needed it. Our female doesn't like to go for walks and her nails were getting painfully long. I tried several groomers on Bainbridge Is. and nobody would return my calls. Petco to the rescue! They even let me arrange my appointment so that both dogs could go in together (they are calmer that way) The staff was friendly and polite which is kind of rare during this pandemic because so many serving the public are being mistreated. So book an appointment online and get ready to be impressed!

This is a great store. We have brought our Gildendoodle (not the easiest dog to groom. pic below) here to be groomed 5 or 6 times and every time has been a great experience. All of the gals in the grooming department are friendly, professional and really great at what they do. The rest of the staff couldn't be more helpful. Like I said, a great store!

Any major chain that closes by 6 pm is a joke. You shouldn't have to leave work early just to get cat litter and pet food.

This review is to make awareness of the situation my dog was put into and hopes that this place train their employees to better handle a situation to keep both parties safe. At the end of the day this business is responsible for keeping their own employees and our pets safe. This business is responsible for educating employees on how to properly break up dog fights or avoid instigating them. My dog was dismissed from cbw due to bitting an employee. I couldn't believe it. My dog has never bitten anyone and is usually very submissive towards other dogs. I'd also like to note that this is not the first day care my dog has been to. He was at a previous day care where he stayed for a week without issues. We don't go there anymore because we moved. Now, I couldn't help but be skeptical of people who say they were bit by a dog that doesn't have a history of biting . Things don't usually happen out of nowhere. So ask "what did you do to provoke the dog?". I hate to say it, but most people who work with animals, have no business working with them, either because they can't read body language, push the animal's buttons (Inadvertently or otherwise), or they don't know how to diffuse a situation that involves more than one animal. So after being in my head all day after the incident. I called CBW if I could see the clip of the incident.. and this is what I saw.. There was a dog mounting my dog.. and the whole time that was happening the employee had his back turned and was not aware of what was happening. When the employee finally turned around, that's when my dog was trying to tell the other dog to back off. Then the employee jumped into conclusion and attempted to grab my dog from behind by the collar until he's standing on 2 legs because he assumed my dog was being aggressive. Now imagine.. My dog was already being bullied by a dog and then comes a human. He felt threatened and probably felt ganged up on and acted out out of self defense. I spoke to the manager after seeing that video to go over what happened because I wanted to tell her how I felt about it but the whole time she talked over me, dismissed me a lot, and didn't give me the chance to speak. I just wanted to get it off my chest but that conversation left me feeling so defeated and unheard. The manager explained to me that the employee can't keep his eyes on all dogs.. so ask yourself again, why is there only one employee watching a bunch of dogs? Why didn't the employee use a slip lead to remove him, why didn't he create space before stepping in?. It was a fully failed attempt to diffuse, and my dog got the bad end of it all and was punished unfairly. I'm glad I watched the clip before judging my dog, and you can bet I pat him on the back and was proud of him for standing up for himself because I would've done the same. A non aggression dog bitting in self defense if grabbed by the collar too hard. I couldn't blame him. Moving forward, I just hope no one will have to go through what my dog and I went through, and I only wish that they hire or train their employees properly to avoid another situation like this. I feel bad for the employee who got bit, but could've that be avoided? Absolutely, with proper training.

I'm going to be more than a little verbose here, so please bear with me. My wife and I met "Winnie"…read morewhile on a trip to Death Valley and southern Nevada. Having left our two dogs with a house sitter, we looked forward to fewer complications while camping, etc. Then we stopped at a gas station on the Oregon and Nevada border. There sat what appeared to be a miniature, mostly black German Shephard with a badly injured leg and paw, starving and very thirsty. Nobody at the gas station had any idea who the dog's owner might be; no name tag, etc. We could not leave this dog there to die a miserable death, so she joined us for two more weeks on our journey. We stopped at the nearest vet in Winnemucca, NV, and got her bandaged up for the short term. This vet indicated significant neurological damage to the leg and paw. Our next stop was an emergency vet in Las Vegas for further assessment. Same overall assessment, the leg would probably need to be amputated. Over the next two weeks, we learned that Winnie had never been on a leash before, loved people, and could travel for hours at a time in our vehicle without a complaint. Upon arrival home, we had Winnie assessed again by our local vet. Same story, severe leg, paw, muscle, tendon and neurological damage. Amputation was suggested. I resisted all those assessments and decided to look for a vet who might be able to help Winnie keep her leg. This is where Dr. Finn comes in. When we explained Winnie's situation and condition, her office indicated, "No! Don't amputate her leg! Dr. Finn can help her!" THAT was what I was hoping to hear! This is precisely the type of treatment Dr. Finn is dedicated to; for dogs and their owners. Winnie began undergoing a series of weekly laser treatments to allow her "frozen" elbow to gain flexibility, use stem cells to heal two toes that were mostly missing, a raw open wound in their place, and begin work for fitting a brace. Over several months, Winnie's progress continued, and her brace is currently being readjusted. Unfortunately, the story does not have the ending we hoped for. While Winnie was very submissive with our older, larger male dog, she desperately wanted our younger, smaller dog to play, and was quite "in our little's dog's face", nipping, barking, etc., insisting on play. This resulted in endless growling and snapping from our other small dog, creating ongoing anxiety and tension in the house. We worked on this for several months without success. Then came a couple of aggressive attacks by Winnie on our smaller female dog. My wife contacted Dr. Finn who commented that the "female on female" aggression, and the fact that both come from a background of being "streetdogs" as pups, this can be very dangerous for the smaller dog. My wife's reading indicated the same. Now we had owner depression. Earlier in Winnie's treatment, Dr. Finn and her husband said they loved Winnie and indicated that if we were ever unable to keep her, they would to take her. That time had arrived. With the saddest of hearts, buckets of tears, and way too much guilt, we came to the conclusion that the best outcome for Winnie was to live with Dr. Finn and her husband. She'll have a built in pack of male dogs where she will surely peacefully submit, horses to check out, a large rabbit who Winnie loves, acres of land to explore, an office staff who loves her, and endless sniffing opportunities. Logic dictates that this was a better "Winnie ending" than we had any right to expect. Winnie will require ongoing vet treatment which Dr. Finn can provide. Wow! This is a one in a ten million possibilitiy! So... Winnie is no doubt the big winner here. We will try to focus on Winnie's gain and less on our loss; though that will be a challenge for me. We cannot adequately thank Dr. Finn, her husband, and her staff, for what they are doing for "our girl." May the force be with you, Winnie... With endless love and memories, Doug and Harriet LeClair Anacortes, WA

So we went the conservative route and now my Wanagi has a wonderful Orthopets brace. She immediately was able to walk well with it from the moment she first started wearing it, I heard no grinding or pops in her back knee at all. It has now been several months since she started wearing her brace, and we've have great success with it. Her muscle tone on her hurt leg (which had atrophied quite significantly after her injury) has improved greatly. Wanagi has been going to her swimming sessions with Dr. Finn, and she absolutely loves it! I've seen great improvement with the swimming. Thank you Dr. Finn!!

We reached out to Connie because we were thinking of getting a second dog and wanted to get a "tune up" for Winston before we made that decision. The process to set up the initial meeting was thorough - we filled out an initial form, we talked with someone on the phone and we were provided with material to read before we ever met Connie. We appreciated the documentation as it set reasonable expectations about the process. When Connie came to the house, the first thing she did was ask us about our goals for the training. She's a great listener and really took the time to investigate our situation and ensure she truly understood the issues that we were having. Once she had gotten our story, she explained the root cause of the issues with Winston and educated us on how to better communicate with our dog. There was a lot of useful BarkBusters material that she shared that was specifically relevant to the problems we were having. Once we got past the theory, we did a few different exercises with Winston to put the ideas into practice. We saw an immediate impact with Winston after the first session. We felt more confident once we were equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle the problematic situations. We followed up on the homework that Connie shared and the results only continued to improve in the weeks following our initial visit. When she met us for the second time, she was surprised with how well Winston had responded to training and provided some small feedback about how we can continue to improve. We are over the moon with how much improvement we've seen with Winston and are so happy we worked with Connie! With the lifetime guarantee, we know we can reach out in the future if Winston develops other issues.
