I shopped at this particular location one time to purchase catnip and wet foods for my cats. I thought that this store's prices were slightly higher than what the online retailer Chewy charges. I walked around the other sections of the store. The shelves looked to be fully stocked. I thought that the small animals had clean habitats and looked healthy. The cashier promptly and correctly rang up my purchase and thanked me. At home, my cats are enjoying their catnip and foods. This store is also supposed to offer grooming, training, and veterinary services, but I have never used them. read more

I like the store but I can't understand how the price of Parakeets have more than doubled since the pandemic. You see, I'm confused because I have a flock as well and not one item has increased in cost. The food, vitamins, bedding, ect... everything costs the same or less than 2020. My dog's 9 and takes daily trazodone for separation anxiety. Made the mistake during his grooming appointment of being honest with them on the and they refused to take him. All this does is encourage people to lie about any conditions, even minor, that their dog may have. Stupid. read more

Gotta be honest, this place has so consistently put items at the wrong price that I'm having a hard time believing it's accidental. Today, I pulled a 15 pound bag of dog food off of a display shelf marked $22 and it rang up at $60. I double checked the shelves. There were ONLY 15 pound bags and ONLY signs indicating $22, so it wasn't like the bag shifted over. And there were 3 price labels per shelf. It happens a lot at the Fox Chapel store. Usually, I return mis-priced items on principle, without purchasing, but this time I knew the price was incorrectly marked before I grabbed it (and I was out of kibble) . read more

Tried making an appoint for my daughters dog to be groomed. Tried on line unsuccessful went to the store only to find out you can only schedule on line. And they only have one person handling customers. I recommend trying some where else till they are better staffed. read more

Do not go here; Petco Freeport Road. Bait and switch. Told one price for a puppy groom and at pick up the price was 47 dollars more than the verbal quote. Wow! $77 dollars for a 5 pound puppy to be groomed. Stay away from them and especially, "Sammy" the groomer. read more

What can I say about a Petco that hasn't been said before? Woof? This location is nice, clean, and well stocked. Each section nicely marked making it easy to find what you need and fast. If you can't find it there were several employees available to help out. Prices were reasonable, and of course get the rewards card. Honestly who could hate a pet friendly establishment? read more

Don't take your dog for grooming here. 0/5. After telling the lady's they need to use the leash I provided (a head leader), they refused. Instead they put a choker on my 1.5 year old boy who came back with a swollen neck from the groomers not listening to what I told them. :( very sad to see my pup come home so upset and in physical pain. I'm shocked this company isn't sued more often for there open negligence. read more

Wonderful service, great cost. Jess B took care of our dog from the moment we walked in. She comforted him and sat on the ground getting to know him as we talked about his haircut. We absolutely love Petco, both grooming and otherwise. Poogie is incredibly comfortable when coming here. She absolutely loves Misty in the grooming salon. Misty takes absolutely the best care of her and I never feel unsafe about leaving her to get groomed. read more

I had my dog groomed there today by Jess and he came out silky smooth and very clean and it was only 2 hours and the price was 42 bucks! Can't beat that , I was very pleased . Jess was very friendly and we will definately be back! read more

She does a fantastic job and anytime we mention to Cowboy that he is going to the groomer to see Misty he gets so excited and jumps in the car. My Service dog Lillian loves her "spa day" at Waterworks Petco. She's a great dog who works hard and deserves to be given a nice day. Everyone there has been excellent and treats my Lillian as special as I would want her to be treated. They always do all that I ask and give a full detailed report card. I highly recommend them for YOUR special dog. She always looks great after her time with the Petco dog "lovers". I say that because you can see how much they care about your pet. As far as chain pet stores go, I am always happy with Petco. Being that my dog is pretty much my child, I always want to make sure she has an ample supply of treats and of course, dog litter in these colder months where going outside becomes less of an option for a Chihuahua. Petco ALWAYS has dog litter. You would be surprised how many pet stores do not carry it and not every Petsmart has it either (some do thankfully). And they always seem to have Greenies Lite (I am sure my dog does not care whether they are the Lite or Not Lite version but I do). One other huge perk is the fact that they have a lot of the foods that for awhile were hard to get. Wellness Brand Healthy Weight for Small Breeds was sometimes hard to find... they always had it. Now, they have the Grain Free Wellness Brand Healthy Weight for Small Breeds which makes me and my pup happy (I think she was developing some allergies that now have seemed to cease with this change). I was just in the Fox Chapel location trying to find my little dog the only food he he could eat , to no avail, so I got my cat food & was checking out. The nice cashier asked if I found what I needed & I told her my problem , she relayed it to her manager Kristie(?) ( pardon my spelling. ) she looked into . Turns out the company no longer makes his food , he is very sensitive, and only a few teeth . The thing I am most impressed with is the knowledge she had about the different foods in the store , the manufacturers and even where the food was grown , you do not find customer service like that anywhere anymore ! I also found out about their return policy . But I brought the food home & for the 1st time ever he ate it right down & I think it will agree with him just fine . I am so happy, thank you read more

After experiencing excellent grooming from Petco in the Breckenridge community of NC, I decided to try the one on Freeport Rd in Fox Chapel. Customer Service was excellent... the groomer was very friendly & assured me that all of my special grooming requests (cutting the hair between the paw pads, cleaning the ears with hair removal that involved numbing the ear or just partial hair removal, anal gland expression, & no hair by the vulva) were standard & would be completed at no extra charge. She also assured me that the cut would be cute even when I stated the most important aspect was that my dog was comfortable & that shaving would more than likely be the best option considering the matting in her face & ears. Thorough grooming to avoid mats & my dog's comfort was my goal. I dropped my dog off in the morning & did not hear back from them until I decided to go there... when I had called to check multiple times, the grooming dept did not answer. Although I had given my current phone number when I dropped her off as well as when I made the appointment, when I got there, I learned that the groomer had called the number associated with my reward card which was no longer in service...I have not been living close to a Petco for the last 4 years, so I had forgotten about the reward card & no mention was made of it when I dropped her off. It was upsetting that my 11 year old dog was kept for so long unnecessarily. When I picked my baby up, she had not been shaved but rather scissor cut & her head of mats combed out. Looking cute... she looks cute regardless of her hair style. The goal was for a thorough grooming with her comfort in mind... this clearly did not happen but I did not want to complain because I feel like my complaining & leaving her to be 'fixed' would result in cruelty so I let it go & was just glad she was clean with my special requests met... I asked again if they had done the clipping between the paw pads even though I was watching her slide around on their floor... that should have been a clue that they didn't do it or that I should at least check, but that was a fail on my part. After getting home & checking in with my baby, I found that not only had the hair in between her paw pads not been cut, but some of her toe nails were not clipped which that's a standard in pet grooming that I have never had an issue with. Additionally, her ears were not clean, not only the hair in them, but the wax as well. & her butt/vagina area has not been cleaned... the hair around that area was actually still stained. (she is white, so down in there had a yellowish tinge.) I soon also began noticing just how uneven her hair cut was. Ridiculously uneven... I have attempted to groom her before & I'm pretty sure this hair cut was worse than my scissor attempt. Since this grooming & in vet visits, I have learned that the anal gland expression was also not done. For my dog, this has been a health issue & it is extremely frustrating & disappointing that this did not happen & has caused my dog so much discomfort. Her ears have also been a source of concern. Overall, I would absolutely NEVER return to this Petco for grooming services as it is obvious they do not truly care about the dog's well being but rather just making them look cute which honestly... an uneven scissor cut & dirty butt are pretty far from cute. read more

Misty from Petco has been grooming my 3 cats for years and she does a great job they all hate to have their nails clipped but she has them done before they even know what happened my long haired cat is very difficult to comb but Misty is great with her and gets the job done she is very friendly and great with all animals and I highly recommend her read more

I have been a customer here for many years. The y suddenly are not allowing cats to have their claws clipped on weekends because of the dogs. So if you work full time during the week, you are out of luck. Dogs owners rule here. Stay away if you are a cat owner. Dogs are the only priority at this store. read more
