    Happy dog
    yelp h.

I recently brought my dog in for an appointment, that upon arrival I realized I had rescheduled for a later date. They were incredibly kind and accommodating. They were able to work us in and give my pup great treatment even though I had canceled my appointment. We've been here once before and also had a great experience, it's clear they care about the animals they help.

I think my puppies are confused... hee

I've been to this particular Petco, a handful of times, and they always have a pretty good discount area or buy one get one free. Since I have huskies, and one of them is picky, those are always good deals for us to buy to test to see if the puppies well, the picky one likes the new treats. Specially helpful with changing their food because the picky husky does not like to eat the same bag every month and we switch him out from dry kibble to a different kibble daily! Pickiness, go figure! Lol Petco also has a great deal where if your dog does not like the food you can return it as long as you have the receipt. That is incredibly helpful because there's a number of times my picky husky will not eat the food two days in a row and he likes to sniff and nibble And then doesn't like to actually eat the food that's in his bowl! Lol this particular Petco is rather small, but very well kept so I will be back again.

    Dirty drinking water.

What disgusting treatment of animals! My girlfriend and I wandered in before visiting Trader Joe's next door. When we looked at the bird, the conures were suffering in vile conditions. The water in all of the cages was filthy. The cage of one had poop splattered all over the walls. That bird kept stepping and rubbing against her own excrement. The cages were small, dark, and lacked bird baths, and must have smelled terrible inside the glass. One of the birds pressed against the glass, and kept desperately trying to push through to reach me. The parakeets, which are smaller, got a bigger cage all together that was kept cleaner since it was more visible. Meanwhile, the larger birds had an 8th of the space and no ability to socialize with other birds. The employees were all apathetic. My girlfriend talked to one, who said he'd do something then didn't. Then I spoke to a manager who was dumping cat litter into a big bin, and she was eager to get rid of me and directed me to another manager. That guy (a tall, balding man) didn't seem to care and just wanted to get rid of me. How can you work in a pet store and not care about the lives of the animals in your care? We called Petco's customer service line and they were just low-wage employees outsourced from far-off countries and were following a basic script. Please, don't purchase from Petco. Especially don't purchase birds. The $1,000+ people pay per bird is what motivates Petco to harm these innocent creatures. Send that money to people who help animals, like Leslie Howe at the Toucan Rescue Ranch in Costa Rica.

unprofessional workers. Had an appointment at 8:30am at the grooming salon. no groomer was there. waited half an hour, came to find out the worker was a no show. first and last time coming here.

Disgusting water. This poor betta is dying.

The betta care is absolutely horrendous here. I cannot support this business no matter what sale is going on here. Low staff on duty is no excuse. Cruelty to animals happening here and at most of these chain stores. Stop supporting these stores!

Do not buy animals from them. They are all sick
    Nichole R.

Their animals are always sick and taking to a manager is not easy. I bought two parakeets from them. Had them for a little over a week. Noticed the male puffed always and he was throwing up. I brought them back they said they had to do a return in order to treat them then I can buy them back and reassured me if have the opportunity to buy them back. I never heard from them I had to call to get updates they took a week to observe them another week to treat just the male and then I was able to buy them back. I had them gone a week and the female acted way different was very aggressive squawked all the time and then suddenly died right in front of me and my kids which was very traumatic she squawked in pain. I brought her back they gave me a refund and said if I wanted to speak to a manager I'll have to wait he got in at 11 it was 11:20 he came in went in the back and never came out. I called yesterday to talk about the female that died and the male actin sick and a worker said he told him and have him my info but he was in a 20 minute meeting and then he would call me. Next day still haven't heard from him. I spent allot of money there, my kids are devastated and all because they dont take proper care of their animals.

    After.

She was also lacking social skills like knocking me over at a doorway or jumping up on everyone. Our little girl spent 7 days boarding with Fit n furry for training. The fabulous trainer Marie Haven did a great job. On the last day we went for a human training class. We were taught human skills to continue her training. Marie worked wonders. My dog is in check with my cats, off the furniture, she waits at doorways and leaves things when told. I am much happier at home and I believe my dog is too. Marie is very patient, supportive, knowledgeable and kind. She is the perfect trainer.

I called Fit N Furry to talk to them about boarding my cats. I received a text message back from Bailey and we had a text conversation, and got a tour set up. On the day of the tour, I called the center just to confirm and they had no idea what I was talking about. I was told there was no one there that would be able to give me a tour. The person on the tour scheduled me for a tour weeks away. I texted the original number back and asked what had happened. I actually asked them if they were human, because I'd had experiences before of AIs just not forwarding information to a human. But I was assured, via text, that I was speaking to a human and that they were sorry and their manager would reach out shortly. (To this day no one has reached out.) Weeks went by and I went in for my rescheduled tour. I walk in and they had no record of a tour but they would be happy to show me around. Just fill out this form. I filled out the form. The person at the desk looks at my form and goes "oh, your cats are too old to board here." Excuse me? After all this, my cats are ineligible anyway? At this point I had spent 3 hours in the car and who knows how long on the phone and text with them, getting at this sorted out. If this is the level of organization that is visible from the outside, I shudder to think what the behind-the-scenes organization looks like.

After leaving the dog there for almost a full day we returned to pick her up. Turns out she only received 2.5 hours of training, and the rest of the day was kenneled. She came out to us pulling even worse than before, and was obviously stressed. We were told she was difficult and needed more work as they handed her over to us with a pinch collar. We were told the pinch collar was necessary as it is the only thing she respected/responded to. I am of the opinion that the flashy ads and smiling faces on the website are just marketing ploys to get you in. Our trainer, at least knew very little about dog behavior and resorted to treat based behavior modification. It works as long as you have treats, past that the dog figures it out. No treat, no obediance. It was over a hundred dollars poorly spent. In contrast we just hired a one-on-one trainer for $100 per session who utilizes and understands dog behavior and body language. After only one visit we could see the difference. She went from a dog who was constantly on alert to one who was relaxed and obedient, looking at us for recognition with no treats involved. After only two sessions she will wait for her dinner or food on the floor till we tell her it's OK to eat, is better on leash, ignores distractions like other dogs, squirrels and cats. He also told us the pinch collar was unnecessary, which it was. Suffice to say, there was a remarkable difference in outcome between Dairy Dell and our current trainer. Our dog is now relaxed and calm, doesn't pull on the leash or steal food from the counters. Dairy Dell may work for some dogs, but it didn't work for mine.
