So happy to have Classic Tales in town. They are such kind folks and take fantastic care of my dog Frankie. Frankie is highly sensitive and cutting her nails is extremely challenging. Ina is so gentle with her and is able to complete that task. Thank you! read more

This place is excellent! Both Diane and Inna were amazing from the time of the booking to the perfect haircut that my miniature schnauzer got. She is still a puppy and doesn't exactly like being brushed near the face or tail, but they were so sweet and patient with her that she did really well and looks so good! I am so happy I found this place and highly recommend you take you pup there. read more

Classic Tails - Before and After, amazing! - Pet Groomers Near Me - Petaluma, California

See all

Been taking my pups here for years, always do an amazing job and take great care of my babies

Ena always has our dog in mind. She takes the time to get to know the dog. Wethought she might need a muzzle, but Ena said, "no way" she just needed some reassurance and one on one time. We have been very happy with the results. We have been a client for about five years and hope to continue fostering that relationship. keep up the great work Classic Tails. read more

Took in my Maltese mix for the first time and they did a great job! I was a bit nervous since my dog is temperamental, but they were very patient with him and nice. If you're in the area, I would contact Classic Tails. I was on the waitlist for about a week but it was worth it. read more

Classic Tails - A happy, clean doggy - Pet Groomers Near Me - Petaluma, California

I've been taking Lewey our 13 year old Puggle to classics tails for years now. They are the best, always fit me in and get the job done quick. They are so good with Lewey and I recommend them to everyone. Lewey passed away on 8/10. We'll miss him so much. Ena was so gentle with my very arthritic boy. I'm so happy I was able to take my Lewey there during those last difficult years read more

The best, most gentle and loving groomers in the North Bay. All of our dogs over the years have gone here. One time, I got there early to pick up the dogs. It was dark outside, so they didn't see me when I peeked in from outside. My parents nervous little Schnauzer was being groomed with the most gentle and patient touch, I almost choked up with gratitude for how caring they are with our little furry family members that can't speak for themselves. Thank you Classic Tails! The dogs always smell, feel and look fabulous when they are done. read more

I have a temperamental cocker spaniel who won't let many people close. Diane was more than willing to work with him. She is super good with him and he loves to go see her. He's been going there for many years now and I don't know what we would do without them. Best groomers ever. The waiting list is long , but soooo worth it. Love them. read more

I took my golden retriever to Classic Tails for the first time today! My neighbor spoke very highly of Ina and how great she is with their dog. I was not disappointed!!! Ina was lovely and did such a beautiful job on my sweet girl! I am very grateful to have found a wonderful groomer in Petaluma. We will definitely be going back!! Thank you, Ina! read more

We LOVE Diane and the group at Classic Tails! They've taken incredibly good care of our doggies for years now. We wouldn't go anywhere else! The dogs go in willingly and come out looking perfectly groomed! Incredible! Thank you all! Kevin and Jan Mitsch read more

Friendliest people with the most gentle touch! I work as a vet tech at a hospital in Cotati so when one of the Veterinarians at work told me to take my pooch to Classic Tails I didn't have to ask ANY questions. (FYI the Vet has an Australian Shepard and I have a French Bulldog) Every time I have taken my pup in for grooming he comes back happier than a clam they even clean his ears, clip his nails & express his anal glands (if need be). I cannot say enough about this place and all of the employees here. Beauman basically is dying to get out of the car and into the shop when we pull into the parking lot. Professional and a great price. I feel very safe leaving my little man there all day (actually I appreciate the break!) I would absolutely recommend this service to friends and family read more

Diane Diane Diane. A good groomer is hard to find these days. If you're lucky enough to be a client...stay on their good side! Diane is a fantastic groomer (and person) and she groomed my Pooky (Bichon Frise) for 10 years. And now works her magic on Louie. Why do I pick dogs w the fussiest of coats? High maintenance dogs? Hahahaha. Anyway--you'll wait a long time for an appointment so make the call. Her pricing isn't cheap, but you get what you came for...a good experience for your dog. read more

I LOVE this place. It's cute inside and they obviously make an effort to keep it very clean and smelling nice with a scented candle always burning. All of the people that work here are very gentle, kind, friendly and very loving towards my furry friends. I think they really do care and strive towards keeping the animals calm and as happy as possible. Most importantly, my dogs (two mini poodles) are happy and clean and they smell great when I pick them up. They listen to you and really try to do exactly what you request and they do cute little hair cuts. I also think their prices are in line with what you would pay at a similar establishment. I live in Sonoma but, drive 30 minutes to Classic Tales because I really do think they are the very best groomers around. I have also recommended them to a few friends and everybody loves them. read more

I just took my dog here, for the first time, after a friend recommended it to me. I must say that it was everything she told me! Debbie and Diane were so gentle and loving to the animals and made my dog very comfortable from the get-go. I paid for a bath, nails and anal cleaning and was charged a very reasonable price. When my dog was ready two hrs later he had none of the usual anxiety he experiences from any other groomer I've used. He looked and smelled wonderful and his nails were nice and short. I will definitely bring my dog back here and will not hesitate to recommend Classic Tails to friends and family. read more

Excellent groomers who I've been going to for years They are precise and meticulous in doing their job read more

Classic Tails is a wonderful place! I have been taking my dogs to Diane since she had her store in San Rafael, and though it's a drive for me, I still take them now that she's in Petaluma. Everyone who works with her is kind and gentle and my dogs have always looked great. I have always had large dogs and some of them have been pretty rambunctious, but they are treated wonderfully and they always come home happy and stress-free. Can't recommend this place highly enough! read more

To the person who wrote a negative review of Classic Tails, your dog must have been a matted mess for them to have given you a short cut. I have been a client for over 20 years and never once have I had an unacceptable grooming. Perhaps your dog was disagreeable or the coat was too neglected to be left longer. Whatever the case may be, the word around town is that they are the BEST. I totally agree! read more

I would give Classic Tails 10 stars if I could. I have been bringing my dog to them for a long time. She always gets anxious when she gets her nails trimmed but Ina is absolutely wonderful with my dog Latte. Classic tails is by far the best groomer around and I will forever take my dogs to them. read more

I normally go here for a nail trim. After having many unsatisfying experiences at Petco, I'm happy I found a more friendly, experienced, local and inexpensive place. The ladies that work here are great. Some nail trims are shorter than others, but when it comes down to it, it's just so much better than other places I've gone to. And they are super friendly and talk your dogs through any anxiety or trauma they may be having :) read more

So glad to see Classic Tails on Yelp to be able to give it a five star review. If you are in the Petaluma area, do not miss. Excellent service! We miss them! read more

What is up with this place? Did it change ownership or what? I've been bringing my dog here for several years, gradually paying more and more. This afternoon the groomers did not bother to tell me that they had cut my poor dog's nail past the quick and so he bled all over my car and in my house before I noticed that he was licking his paw and bleeding on the carpet. I called and spoke with the owner, who said that he had been difficult when his nails were being trimmed and that this sometimes happens when dogs struggle. She had put some kind of paste on it and it must have rubbed off, she said. Completely blase about it. 5 hours later and the poor dog is still licking his paw and bleeding slightly. Won't let me touch it. Will never set foot at Classic Tails again. read more

This place is great! You don't have to book in advance, The first time i went here they took my dog right away! The grooming takes about two hours, but if you don't have alot of time, they can work something out with you. Very friendly staff. My dog always seems very happy when he leaves, he comes out very fluffy and white! They even give him a bandana. read more

We bring our Pomeranians bandit and rusty here, they always look good and are able to get us in quickly!

Hands down the best groomers in the Bay Area. Debbie and Diane have been grooming dogs for 30 years, they know dogs and love them, I'm on my 3rd dog with Classic tails, if your dog is afraid of being groomed they know how to work with them. Old dogs that just need their nails cut they are your groomer. I have always been happy for the last 16years of doing business with read more

I almost don't want to write this review for the mere fact they are going to continue to get busier and I'll have issues trying to get in. But they deserve the praise. The staff are amazing, accomodating, and go the extra mile. I have run the gauntlet of groomers, from mobile, to brick and mortar, big box store groomers, etc. This place wins the award in my book. The best part in dealing with them is I always feel they love what they do, and when someone is taking care of your pet, you want that. Good Job. You guys are awesome! read more

I have been with Diane for close to 15 years... she is the best!! No hesitation in recommending her...!!

This place is amazing. Such a darling boutique and the best groomers ever. My dog LOVES going there and her tail starts wagging as we pull in the parking lot. They are so kind and do such a fantastic job on my dog. Plus, they get a treat when they leave and a darling scarf to wear home each time they go. Try it....your pet will love it. read more

Hands down, best groomers ever. These ladies are sweet, no matter what condition my dogs come in. They used to be right by us, but moved across town. It is worth the drive even though one of the dogs gets car sick. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my wolly bully wiggly little guys. Two of our dogs don't sit still. It's amazing every time they come back looking so great! read more

I've had three goldens and have gone to various groomers in Marin and Sonoma counties...this place is the best that I've ever experienced! The owner and staff are fantastic women...loving and warm and extremely caring. Scout loves it here! Woof! read more

Absolutely the best groomers in Sonoma county. I have been going to Classic tails for 5 years now with my two corgis and 1 pit mix. I always get my pups back happy and smelling so good! Every time I pick them up they always have cute little bandannas on that the girls at classic tails provide. Their coats are silky smooth and tangle free. I recommend classic tails to everyone I know even if they don't live in the area. I travel down from Santa Rosa just because deb and Diane are simply the best!! read more

It is the only place to take you dog from grooming. They take very good care of your dog and the love animals and understand their needs

Our family got a puppy mix who turned out to need grooming. I always thought taking dogs to a salon was somewhat ridiculous but here i was. I asked friends for a referral and they suggested Classic Tails. I waited until we had gone twice to leave a review. Both visits were great. It's reasonably priced, the staff is pleasant and welcoming and very organized. They had notes on how the groomed the dog the first time and confirmed that's what i wanted again. I made a couple tweeked and they did exactly what i asked for. They take good care of the dog while having them also so really it's a completely positive experience. read more

Had a great experience here. They are super nice, didn't have to wait forever for an appointment and did a fantastic job grooming. We'll be back!! read more
